Because the PS4 could not read USB’s yet. They updated the software on PS4 and it returned on 15.

This is a different animal.

The other thing that made the removal in 14 easier to stomach was they told us up front. It wasn't something I had to dig and find on a FAQ page that had only been added very recently.

A lot of us who have been on these forums for a long time and have defended SDS are feeling more let down by the fact they hid the removal this year on next gen from us. If they'd come out and explained what was going on the disappointment would still be there but we'd at least known and maybe even have some understanding as to why.

SDS use to be very transparent and in just the last two or three years that has changed. And now that this info is out it will be interesting to see if they actually address it. I'm not expecting them to addressing, but they should.

Tomorrow (the day before the game comes out to those who pre-ordered the Collector's editions) is the last stream. It would be a perfect time for them to address this. They could tell us a reason and let us know (like before the 14 edition) they were working on getting the feature back in the game. But the silence is what makes us more and more untrusting.

The fact they already cancelled the Y2Y saves had a lot of folks mad. But at least they told us. And since it wasn't that long ago it isn't like they don't know how important this feature is to a lot of folks

I won't cancel my order since I ordered the Collector's edition and will have both PS4 and PS5 versions. It just appears my Franchise this year won't be next gen.

I knew something happened. Both the Series S and X can read USB drives, is there something else I'm missing?

I don't know, could be hardware, how it operates, etc...I really don't know.

But my understanding is that SOTS hasn't been completely removed. Its still available on the PS4 version of the game and there are some available slots on Xbox consoles and PS5 to incorporate music into the game, just not as robust as the PS4.

We can’t upload our own music into the game per SDS.

I hear all the criticism of the development team and it is deserved for them not getting in front of this with full transparency. But think for a moment, their hands were probably tied due to Microsoft's operating system for XBOX does not allow for custom music. So it's more Microsoft's fault than anything else. This caused a cascade for SDS that was out of their control. First MLB, then Microsoft. I feel bad for the developers and they deserve some sympathy for all these wrenches being thrown at them in all years with a pandemic going on. Hopefully they have some b&&&s and go back at MLB and Microsoft saying enable this feature so we can have SOTS back.

Oh no, don’t give them a pass.. they slipped this in the faq 2 days before release. All they had to do was get ahead of it and say heads up guys sorry SOTS is out and why.

One more thought, don’t expect it to return either. Guys there is a reason it was the ONLY sports game to still have custom music. They had the advantage of being first party and having the ability to do it. I assure u EA or 2k would have added music back if it was that easy across multiple consoles. Sorry to say the SOTS party is over, and the longer they stay silent about removing it the more likely this is the case.... SDS are now in the big leagues lol welcome to the EA/2K dance making multi platform

For PS5 and Xbox consoles unless I'm mis-reading/understanding what was said. That is similar to when the game transitioned from PS3 to PS4.

PS4 remains as its been for the past few years.

But we can upload our music on 21 with the PS4 version on the PS5 (I hope).

I get if they have legal obligations or non disclosure stuff but to tell us vaguely 2 days before launch. They knew they would lose more sales if they told us earlier.

U cannot upload custom music for any console other than the ps4 as stated last night in the updated faq 2 days prior to release

Seriously considering sticking with The Show 20 on PS5 since it is already looking really good. I was on the fence about spending $70 for something that so far doesn't visually look like a next-gen upgrade. I don't care much about the stadium builder though it would be cool to build some classic ones. I do however care about my custom music and setting my network themed intros and outros as well as walkup and stadium music.

Has anyone confirmed if you can use SOTS with The Show 20 on PS5? I only installed it and goofed around so I never tried to import any of my custom music. Does The Show even see USB drives on PS5? Thanks for any response. I'm working and can't test this until I get home tonight.

Yes it does. I have uploaded a ton of music on PS5. I’ll be uploading a ton more since the developers ruined this years game.

I expect you can do the same with the disc version of MLB 21 for PS4 on the PS5 as well.

Hey Armor....Why do you specify the "disc version of MLB 21 for PS4" ? If I decide to digitally buy JRE of The show 21 on PS5, I can download the ps4 version as well...correct? Is there some reason the digital version of the PS4 would not support SOTS on the PS5? Just trying to get some clarity as I am close to going this route and want to be sure I don't have to have the disc version for some reason. Thanks.

Maybe next year they will take out franchise mode without telling us.
