Played two games so far on the Series S.
Spent more time in the stadium creator than anything.
First things first, the games looks good overall, but not great. There are too many inconsistencies graphically speaking. The grass and dirt need to be upgraded at this point. The nike logo on the pants is extremely low res compared to the rest of the uniform and textures in the game.
The sweat looks good and it seems to be dynamic and actually fluctuate based on temperature, stress , etc. Very nice addition.
Materials have improved. The numbers on the uniforms have a much more realistic look to them in the different lightings.
The gameplay is as good as ways. I still wish we could have the pitches come in faster than max speed, but oh well. The timing window seems smaller and contact seems harder to get on Legend than last year.
Sonny Gray's slurve is impossible to hit if he is on. I couldn't do anything against the guy as the Cards.
Stadium creator is a blast and a great foundation. Has lots of potential, but they must continue to work on it. What's there now is good for year 1, but not year 2, 3, and so on. It needs another year or two of development at least to see its true potential. There are too many limitations at the moment. Some understandable, others irritating because they seem like oversights or poor design decisions.
Overall, it's another Show release. A quality game with great gameplay on the field. I'm glad it's on GamePass. I haven't touched franchise mode yet, but I already know what to expect. That's the games weakest mode at the moment and the reason I wasn't going to buy it full price before the GamePass announcement.
If you like 20 or other releases, you'll like 21. It plays great on the field, stadium creator adds a lot to the game, imo. I recommend the game unless you are a Y2Y player or someone who has been disappointed with franchise mode recently.
