That RTTS podcast is literally the most waste of resources I have ever seen in video game history. It’s so dumb.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
I had no idea what this stadium creator was going to entail. But after mastering this thing I can only say SDS gave us a truly great addition to immersion in the game. Yes, only day games, but inthe big picture it is something else. Visiting one of rhe creations for a Thursday day game, Sunday day game....outstanding. Nothing looks cheap. Can’t say enough.Comment

I always do a realistic Blue Jays franchise and to be able to do a relocation with a unique home stadium is so liberating lol. I can do whatever trades or roster moves I want. I'm having a blast.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
Revisiting pinpoint pitching for the first time since tech test. Also switched over to dynamic difficulty. Just struggled through a 4 run top of the fifth with Tyler Anderson. His line with Pulse first and Pinpoint second:
3IP, 0H, 0BB, 6K, 0R, 35P
2IP, 4H, 3BB, 1K, 4R, 59P
Probably shouldn't have let him throw 47 pitches in the 5th but he was cruising until the wheels abruptly fell off. Totally lost the feel for the change and couldn't spot the fastball. Pinpoint pitching... It's so reeeeaaaallllll.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
I was playing a franchise game on my Xbox Series X (4k) night game April in rain at Yankee stadium and was very disappointed that the frame rate of pitches while I was batting was very choppy. It made the game almost unplayable and I have to say I'm a bit concerned that series X can't seem to run at 60 with rain.
I did notice rain effects were pretty good.. You will notice rain drops in batters box.Comment

The framerate seems improved on the original XBox One since the more recent update. It is actually playable.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
My thoughts on MLB The Show 21....
I will preface by saying I played The Show from the 989 Sports years, then the Rex Hudler/Dave Campbell years right up until The Show 17 (Griffey on the cover) and that was my last year until this year's version. Why did I stop for 3 years? Got a little stale and more importantly frame rate.
I am now currently playing on an X Box Series S. Yikes, what a difference in FPS and overall gameplay.
I don't play DD. I don't play RTTS. Only franchise.
But I just wanted to focus this short review on gameplay. Sitting down and actually playing the game vs the CPU (So servers are not an issue for me) The game plays very very well IMO. Graphics, lighting, color all look really good to me. Some much better face scans.
SOTS being gone this year kills me. But SDS has done a really good job with the music they added between innings and other areas of the game.
So again, on field gameplay and presentation (against the CPU) is a pretty incredible simulation experience and I am really enjoying it.
(My main hope is they can patch to ensure this game ALWAYS runs at 60 FPS. No matter the in game situation)Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
I'm going to have to get a video and post it to SDS. I cannot play at Minute Maid with the roof closed. Once the ball crosses the infield, there is a shift in lumens. The brightness changes and it's completely distracting and annoying in game.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
So I'm playing my Tigers franchise and I noticed that the ticker at the bottom of the screen is showing league pitching leaders in wins, ERA, etc..... Is that new? I know last year the ticker would show game scores but I don't remember it ever showing this kind of stuff. It is really cool.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
Playing it for PS5 and something I noticed that I found laughable.
So they show the runner window on first at the top right of the screen and the graphics are terrible on that. I thought I was looking at a psp game.Comment
