I think they have to be a pitcher. You can edit a pitcher to have good hitting and fielding.

Once have played enough both on the mound and in the lineup, they automatically become a two way player.

So if I make a created player, and I want him to be 2 way in Franchise, I should make him a pitcher with good hitting stats? How would I even insert him into the lineup though?

This may have been answered already .. but , "I got MLB the show MVP edition for ps4. I have a downloadable code for add ons. My question is, can that code be used to redeem the add ons and then used again when I get a ps5? Also, will my add ons transfer from ps4 to ps5?"

My Nephew has the Playstation .. I have it on Xbox ... so I would ask the same question as well.

Yes it is awful so hope they don't patch the name lol. If they did though, they would have to patch the graphic behind home plate too. I hope they dont mess with the fish tanks either. Wth is Jeter doing to that place anyway? Bring back the HR sculpture too!

There was no old gen Xbox version. This is the first year that the game has been available on Xbox. Before this, it was a PlayStation exclusive.

Sorry for the confusing question - I was wonder how the game performs on the original XBox One (Xbox One S) versus the new gen Xbox Series S/X?

You can insert a pitcher into your lineup during the pre-game lineup adjustment screen. Your pitchers will be listed underneath your position players. Just swap them in to whatever position you want them to play (including DH).

Note that you can only do this pre-game. They won't show up in your front end lineup menu until they earn 2-way status. Honestly though, the front end menu really only matters for morale purposes, and has no real meaning.

For anyone on PS4, are you finding a sort of stuttering when the ball is being thrown from say short to 1st (basically when the ball is being thrown anywhere not including pitching). Trying to figure out if its an issue of me playing on my 1440p monitor or the game itself.

It's likely server lag. SDS had this incessant need to collect data live, and their servers are slammed during this time.

It's usually invisible during single player situations, but when the servers are so busy their can be a noticeable hitching in single player games.

If it is this, going into your playstation's settings and turning off network connection will solve the issue.

I would at least try it if for no other reason than to eliminate it as a possibility.

Playing on Monitor or TV? May have to change a setting there.
I do not have a Ps5 , I'm playing On my Xbox One X .. I can turn off HDR in the TV and Display options (on the system .. not in game settings)
My ps4 didn't support HDR , from what I could find.
So look in the settings on your PS5 , and see if you can change it there.
