Re: MLB The Show '22 - New Commentary Team
Having a two man booth will hopefully help with commentary as well. I could rarely tell D-Ro and Plesac apart and a 3 man booth was just awkward anyway. Too bad they couldn't keep Matty V and pair him with a new partner while also bringing in a second commentary team.

Not to always be negative. But this probably means the name data base is gone. The audio reactions to events on the field. ie the ball hitting certain objects or events at the Parks are gone.
I am glad for a new team, I really am. I think it will add some freshness to the game and they will most likely rebuild to current levels of dialogue over the years to come. I just wish they could find a way to not remove so much from the game to make "advances".
The pre recorded clips sound cool. But honestly how long before they are even more repetitive than the current format. How many clips could they actually have? I think this will end up being a small step forward and a bigger step backwards. But that is just me being negative, I guess
Eidt. Ok apparently they have been recording for a good while now. So maybe it will be better than I am imagining. But still doesn't change my original opinion.Last edited by Bullit; 03-08-2022, 11:02 AM.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: MLB The Show '22 - New Commentary Team
To me it sounded like they used clips from real games instead of writing a script as basis for the teams lines. Not using real audio clips for the commentary. Name database, events happening in the park seem like it will still be there.

This.
according to the article I posted earlier, it seems they were actually supposed to be in last years game, but the team felt they needed time to replace all of the current audio. I'm actually really excited about this upgradeComment

But yeah I would eventually turn it off also every year at some point, the ramblings of the two color guys just would be such a distraction during pitches, the general annoyance of them would actually seem to get in the way of my concentration because they would just drone on and on and on.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Re: MLB The Show '22 - New Commentary Team
To be fair, I really play the game so much that ANY commentary is going to get stale, I would think its impossible NOT to get stale.

I am really excited now. That will be refreshing to hear them. I liked Boog watching the Cubs games. It sounds like they have good conversation from what we heard. Like the home run Boog was like he is seeing the ball good huh Singy.
Just hope you don't hear that on every other home run LOLFollow me on Twitch

Re: MLB The Show '22 - New Commentary Team
If they really started recording in 2019 then they should have been able to record a LOT of lines during the shortened 2020 season.
Hope there is a good bit of variety.
