Re: MLB The Show '22 - New Commentary Team
The biggest thing I don't understand with the current crew is that Matty V is a very exciting announcer in real life, yet in the game he doesn't show even 50% of that excitement on a big play or even a home run.
This was a necessary change, and even from that short trailer, I felt more excited about that Ohtani homer!Comment

so the new game intros.. I hope for the love of god it isn't about talking about the pitchers ERA and basing their opnion on how good or bad he is every time ! or by going by a players AVG as well.
But holy hell am I excited now for this change it has been over a decade!!
Oh how I hope they've taken this opportunity to redo the pregame stuff completely. That shot of the catcher going out to the mound really has gotten just as stale as the commentary. Fingers crossed.Comment

I wish they would show outside shots of the stadium. I also kind of miss the city shots in the middle of the game. If they only made some different ones in each cityFollow me on Twitch

Re: MLB The Show 22 Features New Commentary Team of Jon Sciambi and Chris Singleton
Just listening to the commentary in the preview trailer and it sounds like they may have gone with the approach of mixing the adjectives and the nouns a bit more which would explain the new system… but possibly to the detriment of the quality of stitching. Listen to the ‘pretty dominant double play’ line as an example.
Maybe I’m wrong, and I’m definitely nitpicking. Hopefully that’s just a bad sample.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Features New Commentary Team of Jon Sciambi and Chris Singleton
Dammit... I told myself "not this year" on buying the game. Between the CBA crap and no substantial graphical leap for next gen, baseball wasn't getting my money this year. But then SDS had to go add a new commentary team... Not completely sold yet, will have to wait for the presentation stream to determine that.Comment

This is a brilliant move by the SDS team. I know it has been in the works for a few years, but knowing franchise items were going to let down a lot of the loyal buyers, they had to come up with a wow factor to get people who may have skipped this year to buy the game.
New commentary probably was the only item that could do it. Fans have been clamoring for this for a few years.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Features New Commentary Team of Jon Sciambi and Chris Singleton
I saw on Twitter someone (Full Minors Guy I think) contemplating whether they leave the current commentary team in for MLB Network games and these guys are on the other presentation packages. Would be cool to have both, especially if there were some updates from the current crew as well. Probably a pipe dream, but here's hoping.Comment
