I never wanted the DH in the NL, but this thread is something.

Save the bullpen from being taxed for the next 2 weeks and let me go to bed
They can save bullpens by not bringing them in as early as the 4th inning. MLB should limit pitcher changes.

The issue is it seams as no one wants these long games. Coacheas and gms don't want it messing up their lineup for the next week and needing to promote/demote players. Players don't want to play 7 hour games. Look at how full a stadium is in the 15th inning.. like 15% of the fans are going to stay for a whole 7 hr meaningless game in may.

Just seems like there is a loud minority arguing for some sort of historical compliance with rules that were made in 1903 lol It always loses me.

I am all for the universal DH and the extra innings runner rule. The game should evolve and change over the years. All sports have.

I know this won’t be popular lol. I was talking to someone recently and they thought baseball should go to 7 inning games. If you look at it SP used to pitch at least 7 innings before turning it over to the BP. These days you are lucky if SP pitches 5 or 6 innings. Games take too long these days. This would also help stop the BP from getting worn down as the season goes on. Those 7 inning DHs weren’t as bad as I thought they’d be.

This would cause havoc for year to year stats/records. The year and stats would be based on something like 300 or 400 less innings per team as compared to the 100 years prior to it? Something like that....

If the argument is about. Nobody wants 28 innings games or long games so do what they do in Japan if it’s about. 4 hours they say “tie” or they keep okaying till someone actually wins legit.

Or put the bs ghost runner on from the 12 innings at least let teams try and win the REAL way legit for a few extras first.

Baseball being a game of 3's, I would love for teams to get 3 tries the traditional way and then the ghost runner rule can start in the 13th.

What is the deciding factor if you are buying or not? I play a lot of exhibition games so not being able to play in NL parks with a DH would be disappointing.
