I since have removed the tech demo but didn't that have a play now mode which would have said if the DH is in?

At the time of the Tech Demo, the change hadn’t been official in the actual MLB, so no, it didn’t have it. That being said, I can’t imagine SDS will distribute a game with a mode that will not mirror the game it is supposed to represent. Also, I would imagine that the weekly roster updates would be all messed up if they don’t have the NL DH. The daily game day lineups would be messed up, too.

One. I grew up as a teen in the 90s and love 90s baseball. And I wish the game was like it was then. But it's not. And I am a Cleveland fan.

Two. I never said I was for advertising on uniforms.

I respect your opinion as well and I am sorry that the game you love is changing but this comes off as an unnecessary response. Especially when as fans, it is out of our control.

Right on man. I was born in 84, and am now 37, so we are close in era.

I'm sorry about your team, it bothers me a lot too as retro Twins fan. I don't doubt that you are against advertisements, but what so many people fail to understand is that it is a slippery slope. If we constantly accept whatever slop they pile on us, why would they ever stop? I do honestly, truly want to enjoy modern sports in general, but I can't. I have tried, but I can't. I am glad many of you still do, and I am not trying to ruin that, but I do feel that speaking out and voicing displeasure with the state of the MLB and organized sports in general is a noble cause.

These are not the same sports we grew up loving. Think of it this way - Say you've gone to the same restaurant for 30 years and ordered the same dish. You loved it and it was always done to perfection, even when it wasn't. Then one day new owners come in and take over, change the entire menu, and ruin your dish. It is made up of different ingredients, tastes awful, smaller in size, and double the price. On top of that, the new owners stand by your table and try forcing political and social issues on you because you're there. Would you just accept this and be like "Nah, this is cool man. I'm good with this" or would you be like "Enough of your ****, loser. I'm trying to eat" before finding somewhere/something else better for your time and money?

I used to agree with you as well, about being a powerless fan. But that's not true either. We fans hold the greatest power of all - The ability to walk away and do nothing. If we were truly, truly fed up with all their garbage we would only have to stop spending tons of money on games and/or watch them, for only a year. One year of defiance, one year of unity in fans to tune out their agenda and they would crawl back to us so fast you would faint. And remember, the players are on our side. For God's sake my friend, they were just complaining that the chief of Major League Baseball, the man in charge of the league, has no passion for the game. He called the World Series trophy a piece of tin FFS!

Anyway man, it's good to talk to others with different views and opinions about this. I do hope you enjoy the season and I hope it serves its purpose for those who do, but it just isn't for me anymore and it hurts. Sports purists have been chased to every corner of the Earth and they won't stop coming for us. Luckily you can't lose a game you don't play.

Just remember though, it's okay to give up things that give up on you. Maybe not now, but if the day ever comes, and it likely will, don't be afraid to walk away. You'll respect yourself more when that time comes to cut ties and you've had enough. My bad if my post was taken as a personal attack, that's not my intention. I'm passionate about baseball and have Autism so sometimes it don't think it be like it is, but it do.

Re: Universal DH confirmed for MLB 22

I prefer pitchers batting and the strategy around it but have been resigned to the DH coming to the NL for years.

Hoping RTTS is improved where you can be a pitcher and hit in those games and then hit almost every other day. Last year for me it was unplayable and I went to franchise with player lock.

It has been an option in franchise mode for years.

Will they still have the option for no DH?

FYI it’s been confirmed that the DH option is available in Play Now mode. It can be turned on or off.

Just so there is no confusion, you cannot turn it on/off in exhibition/play now mode. Its on by default.

In franchise mode you can toggle it on/off just like before.

Thanks for clarifying. I saw your response on page 1 of your Q/A thread saying it can be turned on or off and assumed you meant in Play Now mode.

Oh. I thought it was an option too, but I suppose that would have made too much sense to let us toggle it in exhibition. Thanks for clarifying and saving me $70, therefore ending my post-20 Show days lol. That was legit my dealbreaker 😔
