What do you need added to MLB 23 to purchase it?
For me 23 MUST be the year the graphics take a big leap. Besides 4k textures and PBR implementation not much has been done on the graphical side the last few years.
100% sure the move to also release it on the Xbox and Switch has been a major factor in this and the fact that the PS5 was hard to get AND crossplay needs to work between all platforms…
…now that I’m mentioning all this I’m afraid we ain’t gonna see much of an upgrade once again [emoji20]"When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

Bought the game virtually every year from 2009 but 2019 was the last time I purchased it.
Simply put, franchise updates that improve the experience. Without it I’ll probably never buy the game againComment

The ability to invite a buddy to my franchise to play Co-Op together. I heard you could do it on SharePlay on PlayStation but I don’t know anything about it. Xbox Guy.

Serious question. I'm not being snarky or anything, I'm genuinely curious. I see a lot of people wanting season mode back, and complaining that it was taken out. Why not just play one season of franchise and be done with it? Isn't that basically the same thing?Comment

but I think what turned off a lot of people was in season mode, shortened schedule lengths were possible, and most of those people are deadset against simming the games they don't want to play.
I think there were like 3 or 4 season lengths to choose from but I can't remember the exact lengths, something like 14 games, 28 games and 81 games?OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

No because Season mode allowed you to adjust number of games played in season and you only managed a 40 man roster I believe

I see. I didn't know it let you shorten seasons. I don't think I ever even bothered to go into season mode myself.Comment

Ads or signs on the fences and behind home plate on created stadiums would do wonders

Re: What do you need added to MLB 23 to purchase it?
The game badly needs interesting defensive mechanics. As it is now, everything feels very automated. The throwing meter does not reflect the attributes of fielders. Bunting needs redesigned so it's not an automated mechanic.
As it stands now, you run the fielder to the needed spot and he locks in position so a long winded animation can play out. Because you simply lock in position, the drifting ball and such doesn't affect Gameplay at all. MLB2K10-13 did this in the same way, and it makes fielding balls a snooze.
MLB2K8 offered the most diverse user controlled mechanics, and I'd like it to be a foundation for ideas to improve how fielding is handle. The way 2K gave full analogue movement for bunting as well as angling to place bunts, should absolutely be emulated and implemented. It was expertly designed and very balanced.

Re: What do you need added to MLB 23 to purchase it?
IMO the draft in franchise mode needs a huge overhaul.
Not Realistic- I get that the MLB's talent acquisition mechanics are far different than other major leagues, but it's still strange at best to be drafting international players in the MLB Draft. If doing the International Free Agency period isn't possible, at least have a second International Draft in the off-season.
Draft is Random - If you do a draft, back out, then do the draft over teams (at least in the first 15-20 picks) will select completely different players than they did the first time. I wish there was some mechanism for the AI to identify the best players and/or draft for what their system or team needs. It shouldn't just be random.
Picks Aren't Accurate - It drives me crazy when the competitive balance picks aren't right. Also not sure if this is still a bug, but in prior years after a couple drafts there would occasionally be a draft year with a full round of compensation picks. It made drafting after the first round essentially pointless if you didn't have a compensation pick.
Too Easy - It's too easy to scout all the best players ahead of the draft. Being able to find a player's potential range within a few days is just too power. I prefer Madden's system where you can focus on certain positions or players but it comes at the expense of learning less about other positions/players. Yes I can handicap myself in the draft somewhat by not scouting fully, but I'd rather have a draft that works well to start.
No Storylines - Madden's storylines are far from perfect, but at least there is an attempt made. Right now MLB's draft feels somewhat lifeless because all the players are just attributes and potentials with no stories.
Random Ages - Yes there are prospects that are age 19, 20, or 23+, but the biggest concentrations (I think) are age 18 and 21/22. Right now it seems like all the prospect ages are just randomly generated. I'd more 18 and 21/22 year old prospects and overall and potentials to be better tied to those ages.Comment

Man, I’ve been saying this for years now. Everything feels like you’re on rails and you really don’t have much room for errors since the game basically takes control of your guy for most plays. I feel like the speed of how the ball is hit plays a role in this. I really wish we had full control at all times and allow us to make mistakes on defense.
