Nut I agree with you. My concern was never with the "devs". I think that term may just be used loosely but I would assume like an art team would be responsible for the colorblocking, not a "dev".

I personally don't care whose specific responsibility within SDS it is. But what would you call it for the game to have the same outdated equipment in with wrong colorblocking for 3 years?
Why does it have to be called anything? I'll make my point again. No one knows what any of this consists of when making the game. It's a known fact that each company chooses what is put into the game and what isn't For all we know they make the designs. My point is you were calling out people that you disagree with for "guessing" when you're doing the same thing.

At the end of the day, I , like many others who equipment is important to, want the 3 shoes that 80% of MLB players wear in with correct colorblocking. That is not an extreme ask.

I understand where you are coming from. I'm not sure if someone else asked but I wasn't really trying to poll for guesses on why. I just want the basic equipment in correctly. I feel this to be a baseline that should be expected for a game.

No one is downplaying or even dismissing what is important to you nor should they. We all want and like different things with this game and any game to be honest.

Like we literally have the game from ps3. Started this year with no new face scans which makes me even wonder what the purpose of buying the next years sports game is if they don't even, at the least, add in the new players.

It's crazy the amount of mental gymnastics that are done to cut them bail. How is the size of their dev team an excuse? They charge the same amount of money for the game that 2k and madden does.

Someone mentioned 2k took a year off, but 2k made the biggest franchise leap on the first ps5 version of the game without a year off. 2k's graphics always make a huge leap the first year on a new platform.

Lastly, back to equipment. Im not even asking for a 2k suite of equipment. It is just not acceptable to me for 2k to have like 100 shoes with correct colorblocking and SDS can't even get the 3 current nike cleats in that players wear with correct colorblocking. 3 SHOES lol THREE
My only point about 2k was that they mailed it in for modes in 2k15 and spent two years building the base for what is now an amazing in depth franchise. That was on PS4/XB1, which they’ve carried over into PS5/XBSX because the base was done.

Nobody is making excuses for SDS. It’s just a lot of people here seem to think they can make all of these updates easily when they only have 6-8 months to develop and test. We all want the game to improve in many areas, especially because the gameplay has been solid for quite some time. I personally would prefer them to take a year off to fix the franchise and editing issues. But a lot of people would freak out if they did that to clean up the mess that still exists from previous iterations.

I totally agree. But don't most of these sports games essentially like hire a new dev team or reposition the current devs to work on the rebuilt next gen version of the game?

And im confident franchise is in the hands of good ppl with TABarnes and Ridin. I saw TA mention how all his time was spent on the new draft system so I guess that makes sense.

Ridin is great and I agree franchise is in good hands with him.

I still can’t believe the new new balance cleats are so botched. And we’ve had the same Nike cleats for 3 years. With Nike’s deal with MLB now you’d think they’d want their most recent equipment updated in the game.

Been saying for a few years now, I would love it if the gaming industry adopted the service model like many of the software companies did years ago. So you have an option of paying a yearly subscription fee (ie: $99 flat rate) and you get the game and they consistently add new features as they become available. They would allow you to opt-in to beta versions when they want to test new features/modes, etc. Would be a great way to provide direct feedback to the Dev teams. And for those that would prefer the yearly release, they could still provide a yearly full version.

Being on a service model though would allow for them to iterate faster and provide features to the customers at a higher velocity.

Maybe an idea for the future; since we can create logos in game and share them would be to let us use downloaded logos and scale and place them on equipment? Doesn’t seem like too much of hassle given it’s not really adding a new feature we can get our logos on uniforms and stuff so why not give users the abilty to add logos to things like guards, catcher gear, cleats , and gloves (Batting included)

Think that would be a significant leap for any party.

SdS makes great gameplay and presentation is pretty well done.

More hair styles and facial hair would be welcomed. Especially dreads considering many young players have them now and they are pretty terrible in game.

Long wind cut short. What do you guys thing about the adding a logo concept?

And if you don't have enough dev power to get 3 pair of shoes right, then maybe you need more devs.

They charge that price because people buy it. If people wouldn't buy it they would have to lower the price. It's call "supply and demand." Google it.

Yeah the impact of up to date licensed gear doesn’t seem to have much effect on their sales.

I just always go back to NFL2K5. 2K could have kept charging the same amount as Madden and selling a fraction of the number of games but they dramatically lowered the price and boom they outsold Madden. If The Show was doing poorly in sells they would lower the price. But their sells are just fine so they charge what they do.

I don't believe 2k outsold Madden. Best I can find, 2k5 sold 3 million copies to Madden 05's 4 million. Which means 2k made approximately $60 million in revenue and Madden made $120 million.

And 2k lowering the price of 2k5 is also directly the reason there wasn't a 2k6.
