Just thought if this but for the first time will only have two lineups to manage instead of four since non-DH option shouldn’t be in the game. This will be a nice quality of life change for those of us that manage our lineups.

Yeah it is a pain to set those lineups of other things to do that’s useless if DH rule is in. . It needs to only be a option of you chose to not have the DH but o bet it’s the sameComment

I’m pretty certain there will still be 4 lineup settings as I believe the non DH option is still available in franchise mode

I don’t think they’re going to take the NO DH option out because of gamers using oldtime rosters. Unless they definitely said it’s gone. Me personally, I don’t use the DH.Comment

if all 162 of your games, both leagues are set w/DH on, why would you even care what the nonDH lineups look like lolOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

For me I can’t tell you how many times I would start adjusting a lineup, get done and realize, crap, it wasn’t the one I wanted to adjust.
I actually wanted the AL to get rid of the DH but went through my anger, denial, acceptance phase and now am just fine with it because I think that’s part of what got us the balanced schedule.Comment

Yeah nothing has really changed from previous versions of the game. You could always set the DH to be league wide, and they never removed the "No DH" lineups from the lineup screen. It's just that the Universal DH is the default option now when starting a new franchise.
It's a little bit annoying but I doubt they take the other lineups outChicago Cubs

if it had solely been my decision, I would have went no DH's, but only 8 batters bat, no pitcher battingOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Pre-Ohtani I would have been down with that but now I think you should be able to use 1 DH for any position. If you have stud like Ohtani pitching it would also benefit you to give another star a day off in the field.Comment

Wrong about the code part as well. You have a lot of research to do. "Code" is not just "Code". There are many different coding languages and you can learn one without knowing the other. They all can have different functions.
Javascript is not the same as Swift which is not he same as python which is not the same as c++.
I am not a dev but I work loosely with devs from time to time as a project manager and at the least, I can tell you every "source" code is different.
There are times where the code is too convoluted and very difficult to add too, (especially a new dev coming to the project) and you may have to rebuild the code .
You cannot copy and past the code from ootp to mlbts . If an ootp dev wanted to work on mlb's code, they would first need to get up to speed with the current code before they could figure it out.
You're missing the overall point still, and I can't tell if it is by choice or not. The entire debate was about whether or not OOTP being a text sim meant that it was easier to add depth to the franchise mode in that game compared to The Show. The answer is no, regardless of any differences in the code between the game.
Why? Simply because franchise mode is going to be built out completely separate from the on field gameplay. It's not only separate teams working on those parts of the game, but the code will literally be separate. The code that is there that allows you to select your pitching/hitting interface, the code for the hitting engine, etc. none of it impacts the code for contracts, morale, free agency, etc. It's all separate.
And with code, yes, each language is going to be different, each game is going to be built differently, and even if two games used the same foundation, two different dev teams would likely build the same feature in two different ways. It'd be similar, but likely not exactly the same. That is beside the point, though.
The entire point of all of this back and forth was whether or not The Show having gameplay would add any difficulty to franchise features getting added onto the menu gameplay side of things and that answer is a big fat no. They are separate parts of the game and their code is going to be separate.
Nobody is arguing that OOTP is built different from The Show. Nobody is arguing whether or not they use the same languages. Nobody is arguing if you can copy OOTP code into The Show or vice-versa. The entire discussion was whether or not having gameplay meant it was harder to add to franchise mode and that answer is no.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
