This is the same issue I have with the Padres. I still might start one with them.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
Incredible pitchers duel between Yu Darvish and Max Scherzer at CitiField. Scherzer took a no hitter in to the 8th but ended up surrendering a run before leaving with two outs in the 8th and runners on second and third. Adam Ottavino was unable to strand them so Scherzer’s final line was 7 2/3 with three runs. Yu Darvish baffled the Mets all night, allowing two hits on his way to a complete game shutout. The Mets best opportunity to score was after a one out Brandon Nimmo hit that looked to be a triple but bounced over the fence for a ground rule double.
I’m not going to be able to score a run for a week now because Darvish has my timing so screwed up. I can hit a change up but there is something about a cutter that is 10 mph slower than a fastball that makes me a complete mess at the plateComment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
I hate to ask this on this thread but here it goes. Since patch #3 has anyone noticed that the AI doesn’t swing so much at bad pitches?
This was something that was greatly needed and in turn my strikeout count has went down as well. 👍🏼🇺🇸 58,281 🇺🇸Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
Win streak continues. Up to 9 in a row after shutting out the As 5-0 in game two out of three. The bats had trouble against former Jay Yusei Kikuchi, who entered the game at 3-18. Once the As handed it over to the pen, however, the offense went to work, enabling Berrios to grab the dub. Vlad Jr.'s hit streak sadly ended at 15 games, but Chapman's hit streak is now at 21. (Of note, I had to sim the end of this game in the 9th via quick manage due to me running low on time)Comment

I haven’t noticed any difference in the AI behavior at the plate

I’m noticing they swing at more, but I attribute that more to me playing the game more so than anything the patch didComment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
My first ever franchise update....
2 weeks into the season sitting at 3-6, still figuring out what I have. Jazz has been on fire. Alcantara has been money. A lot of average players everywhere else. The games have been close though. I need Arraez to get hot soon. 20230413_193256.jpeg1878657baa224-screenshotUrl.jpeg

2023 Pittsburgh Pirates 05/05-05/07
Overall Record:20-15 (1st NL Central/Tied with Chicago Cubs)
Game Results
Game 1
Blue Jays-5
Pirates-1
Game 2
Blue Jays-4
Pirates-3
Game 3
Pirates-5
Blue Jays-2
Pirates slow losing skid with game three victory over Blue Jays
The Pittsburgh Pirates led games one and two by a single run at some point during those games. But as unfortunately become the recent norm, the bullpen could not hold Toronto from taking those leads away.
In game one Rich Hill pithed well enough to set himself up for a possible win after the Pirates got their one and only run in the 6th inning. Hill went through full six innings while allowing 5 hits, striking out 5 and allowing no runs. In came Robert Stephenson from the bullpen and he also allowed 5 hits four of which were 8th inning homeruns by Alejandro Kirk (two run), George Springer, Vladimir Guerrero JR and Danny Jansen. Those five runs led to the final score of 5-1.
There was also a very scary moment in game one as Rich Hill got hit by three batted balls. The first two were grounders but the third was a 109 MPH liner off of George Springers bat to the left side oh Hill's head. Hill took a wobbly tumble but was able to somehow not only get back to his feet but remain in the game.
The Pirates also took a one run lead in game two as Mason Martin hit his first major league homerun to at that time, give Pittsburgh the 3-2 lead. Unfortunately Toronto would again overcome that lead as they tied the game on a Santiago Espinal sacrifice bunt in the 7th inning and take the lead on a 9th inning Whit Merrifield rbi single.
Pittsburgh was able to get the victory in game three 5-2 to avoid their second straight sweep.
The Pirates will now stay at home to face a team that they scored over 30 runs against in their last series, the Colorado Rockies (15-20).Last edited by Itsma806; 04-15-2023, 03:54 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
Hoping I finally found something that works for me.
I raged quit because I was about to win my ninth straight to start my Braves dynasty. When I replayed the game, I switched from Simulation to Competitive (still on default HOF). The result was my first loss, falling to the Padres 4-3. Hitting seemed a bit harder, which was good. I'm going to stick with that and see how it goes.
We did make one roster move, recalling Kirby Yates from Gwinnett and optioning Jesse Chavez. Small sample size, but Chavez struggled in three relief appearances. We were counting on him to be the long relief pitcher, but he's already lost a stamina point. Of course, Yates gave up a homer in his season debut in the loss to the Padres.Last edited by LowerWolf; 04-15-2023, 05:29 PM.Comment
