    Re: Introduce yourself:

I'm Cory, soon to be father of 6. 5 boys and 1 girl. Turning 39 in 21 days. Been with the mother of all 6 of my kids for 18 years.

Hobbies include gaming, muscle cars, my 2009 Harley Low rider, and hanging with my kids.

Originally I'm from Westminster, Colorado but residing in Iowa. Been a baseball fan since I was a kid, but got really hardcore after watching the Red Sox come back from being down 0-3 to beat the Yankees. Favorite team is the Blue Jays!

Cory, if you have 6 kiddos and been married for 18 years……..you apparently have forgotten another hobby you have. 👍🏼

          Re: Introduce yourself:

First off… hats off to all the heroes in this forum. Thank you to each and everyone of you.

I’m 31 years old, from a small Wisconsin town. My story isn’t as exciting as a lot of you others but, I sell nuts and bolts for a living. I never grew out of playing video games, so in addition to my wife, child (to be children) I try to carve out as much time in front of a TV playing some sort of video game.

Another hobby that I enjoy is Dartball.. if you’re from Ohio, Pennsylvania or Wisconsin you may know it. Not very popular around the US but popular around here and very fun.

I wouldnt call it a hobby per say, just always wanted a big family. Was only me and my sister growing up. Just want those gigantic Xmas get-togethers with lots of grandkids running around, messing up my house [emoji38]

My wife is my rock, stuck with me after plenty of mistakes, and hard times. We just make it work I guess. [emoji1745]

                Great thread!

I have been coming here to these forums forever. Same type of gamer that I am…..realistic franchise guys who just want accurate and realistic results, rosters and gameplay.
Started coming here as a bachelor with nothing but time on my hands. Lived on the city and worked, went out/partied, and played franchises. Now I am 35, married, and have moved back near my hometown to start working towards taking over the family business.
Wife and I have a 19 month old and a 1.5 month old. I get an hour or two a few nights a week to game.
If Ridins rosters are gonna take a while I may just play with the Braves out of the box and go from there.

                  Re: Introduce yourself:

I'm Zach, 32 years old. I joined in 2010 but am mostly a lurker, and I hate my username. Been a sports gamer my whole life, my favorite is the first Griffey game on N64 or NBA 2K17. I have played The Show every year since 2010.

I'm the annoying cheerleader for current sports games. Mostly playing The Show and NBA 2K, but I try to get to all of them every year. Sure, there's features I'd like to have (or have back) in each one, but I really think most of the studios have this genre figured out and are doing a fine job with them. In that spirit, I think The Show is as good of a year-to-year baseball game as we can have in the modern age, and despite the flaws, things like Stadium Creator and storylines are proof that SDS is always moving forward with the series, even if it doesn't always feel that way.

Thanks. When I found out I had it in Feb. 2015 I was told it was aggressive. For some reason I didn’t panic, “it is what it is”. Because of the years I spent in Vietnam, went there when I was 19 and was 3 months short of my 24th birthday when I came home, the Veterans Administration treated me and have been treating me ever since. They’ve been a God send.

My last blood work was perfect, glucose, cholesterol, kidney function, etc., except my cancer numbers went up, just a tad. Enough that I’ll get put on a supplemental cancer drug this Monday.

But……life is good. Count your blessings. I see people who are going thru more than me….Indiansummer….and pray for them.

Sit back….everything in moderation….enjoy the fun in life.

                      Re: Introduce yourself:

So, I'm Matt. I live close to Cedar Point and I love going to concerts! I prefer the small, 100-200 people venues over the arena/festival shows. While I generally see acts that very few have heard of before (Local H, Radkey, Reverend Horton Heat, Starcrawler, '68), I sometimes get out to see bigger acts such as; Rise Against, Incubus, and Social Distortion. I also love traveling around to different breweries with my special someone.

Yes, sorry boys, I'm married and she's wonderful! Besides the marriage duties, my life right now revolves around my 5 year old daughter. She loves to act like she's 15 when I forget the name of one of her stuffed animals with a,"Are you kidding me right now?". She also likes to mansplain the Disney classics to me, as if I've never seen them before. I've been trying my best to get her into baseball. It's been a slow process with her. My favorite line to date being, "Well, I like balls, but not as much as you like balls." Yeah. Try to keep a straight face when a kid says that to you.

As for gaming, I've always been meticulous with my Franchises/Dynasties. Growing up, I would type and print my recruiting classes on NCAA Football and place them in my team folder. Now I've moved on to doing that in Excel with tracking my MLB teams; Transactions, Awards, Payroll (similar to how FanGraphs/Roster Resource does theirs), Prospects (FG/RR Depth Chart style), and Projected Organizational Outlook for the Following Year. Oh yeah, back to my daughter. When she wants to do her own thing and doesn't want me playing with her, she'll quip, "Just go do your ball stuff, dad!"

When I do get time, a friend and I co-op a fictional dynasty. I sim out ~25 years into the future, so that all of the players are computer generated. It allows us to build our own storylines/attachments to players, instead of thinking one of our real players should be doing this or that. We play the first game of every series and quick manage the rest during the regular season. Once we've clinched a playoff spot or are out of the race, we'll quick manage the remaining games. In the playoffs, we'll predominantly play all of the games, but may quick manage a few non-elimination games. Then every third season is a pure quick manage season, but if we get in the playoffs, we'll do our usual playing of the games. This allows us to factor a great deal in our season's success while also moving things along and not getting stale.

In the real world, I work in the financial industry. I'm currently a Vault Teller (for 5 years) and a Union Rep at a Credit Union. My advice to anyone out there is to look at becoming a member at a local Credit Union. Any fees associated with your accounts are generally lower than a traditional bank (and can usually be avoided with a certain balance or having a loan/credit card). A Credit Union is more likely to work with you should something go wrong, while banks are usually more hard and fast with their policies. Even if you think your Credit Union is too small and accessing your account/money while traveling would be difficult, check and see if they're a part of "Shared Branching." If they are, you are able to access your account wherever there's a Credit Union in the "Shared Branching" network.

Absolutely the same way that I felt when I got diagnosed the first time and the second time.

It is what it is. You accept it, because there is nothing you can do about it and you keep a good attitude and face the problem.

It has made me look at things differently, I appreciate things more. My family and friends. Even a good cup of coffee.

I wake up and feel blessed to have another day. God has blessed me my entire life.

Na. I'm not a big CP fan. But the mass amounts of idiotic drivers annoys me, so there's that. In fact, I probably spend more time in your Cleveland in the summer than I do in Sandusky.
