Re: Introduce yourself:
I am 43. Married about 17 years with 2 boys, 15 and 11. They are both gamers themselves.
I currently live in Georgia but grew up in Ohio. We are actually moving back to Ohio in May because of my parents' health issues.
I am a lifelong Cleveland sports fan. In case I hadn't made that known previously. My favorites are MLB and NBA. My first Indians game was in 1987 when I was 6 years old and have been addicted to the sport since. I played through high school, playing a combination of SS an 3B.
By day, I work in a hospital to pay the bills and to do no harm.
I too, like a few others, am an amateur musician. I started playing drums in 2009 by self teaching myself. I would call myself a rock drummer. With many rock bands of the 90s and 2000s being my inspiration. Bands like Nirvana, Breaking Benjamin, and Green Day have been my major inspiration for me and driven my passion for drumming.Last edited by Funkycorm; 03-04-2024, 12:37 PM.Funkycorm

Re: Introduce yourself:
I am 28, Married (married for 2, together for 10) with no kids yet. I do deal with kids everyday though as I am a Junior High history teacher. I love doing it, and I definitely enjoy my summers off where I spend most of the time watching and playing baseball.
I am a reader, gamer and sports fan. I love the Cubs, Bears and Notre Dame. I am big into movies and Tv shows as well. I am very much a homebody with my wife and we largely just enjoy being comfortable at home with our favorite games and movies chilling.
Been on these boards awhile and always enjoy conversation with you all.Last edited by eric7064; 03-04-2024, 12:56 PM.Comment

Re: Introduce yourself:
Been here awhile now, I mainly lurk nowadays. Originally, I came to OS from the 2k forums (I believe Blzer used to write up these eloquent posts of how the game could be better and I followed him here), around 2008.
I've been a baseball junkie since the great homerun race of 1998 and have been playing baseball video games avidly, starting with Ken Griffey Jr's Slugfest on N64.
Grateful for the yearly release of MLB the Show!Comment

Lifetime Seattle-ite
Married 27 years
Deeply religious
Huge Pearl Jam fan, been to 12 live shows, trying to pick an international show for their 2024 tour. Australia sold out. Might do New Zealand. And pay a visit to the Green Dragon while I'm there.
My interest in sports is waning. Never thought I'd lose interest in the NFL. I hate the changes they keep making to the game. Really feel like I've seen the best they have to offer, and its well in the rearview mirror.
Mariners fan... which is gutwrenching. They have a solid recipe working for them; have a superstar (Junior, Ichiro, Felix, Julio..) Draw ~3 million fans. Never win anything of significance.
Madden modder.. Would love to get a look behind the curtain of MLBtS
Was a Madden Mania site member. My goodness, the hysterics of that site. I'd give it a 6.5........You want free speech?

Re: Introduce yourself:
When I came home from Vietnam my mom lived in Bellingham. I went to Shoreline Community College (Police Science). I couldn’t take the weather tho, rainy, cloudy. Played in a fast pitch softball league, but the games were always getting rained out. After 4 years in Vietnam and the heat I headed south. Have family still up there.Comment

I'd love to move to the east side of the state, but we missed our window. Prices have skyrocketed the last 10-15 years.
Bellingham is great. Winters can be rough though. They get some gnarly storms and deep freeze when the cold blows down from Canada... It has become one of the hotter retirement spots in the US.You want free speech?

Re: Introduce yourself:
Was born in Illinois. Lived there til I was 21. Met my bride of 20 years online.
After we met we decided she would move to Illinois to be together. We spent 3 years in Illinois til we finally got married in 2004.
She was homesick so we moved back to her state of Ohio where we've lived ever since.
Favorite sports are baseball, NFL, College Football, Hockey & Soccer.
Grew up a Cubs and Bears fan (yeah I'm a glutton for punishment)
Favorite college football programs are: Alabama (Roll Tide), Florida State & Ohio State.
Just turned 56 last June.I am the way
I am the light
I am the dark inside the night.
I hear your hopes
I feel your dreams
And in the dark I hear your screams
Don't turn away, Just take my hand
I'll never leave, All I ask of you, Is Believe.
Believe

Re: Introduce yourself:
Haven’t been an active poster here for many years but I still lurk time to time. I’m 37 and have worked in produce since graduating undergrad 14 years ago. I’m an accounting manager at a small wholesale company. I played baseball in real life from the moment I could pretty much stand up, through club ball in college (Go Salukis). I’ve played every version of the show going back to 2006 I believe on PS2, with Vlad on the cover and the game might have just been called MLB?
I play the game less and less each year, which looks like that trend will unfortunately continue with 24. I seem to be an old timer and not the type of gamer sports companies try to market to anymore, as I really couldn’t care less about these card collecting modes lol. Oh well, plenty of other games to play with my very little time to do so.Comment

Re: Introduce yourself:
I am 54. Been divorced since 2010, married 17 years, together 24 total. Have 1 daughter and 1 son.
Born and raised in NW Ohio, moved 3 years ago to a small place east of Columbus and I love it down here.
Started off a Oakland Raiders fan, Kenny Stabler is still my favorite player of all time. Saw the Kardiac Kids and Brian Sipe play in 79 I think and switched to the Browns and have been with them since then. Love the LA Dodgers, USC Trojans, LA Lakers and watching Cricket. I played baseball for 4 years in high school. Was a starting pitcher and when I wasn't on the mound I was the catcher for the other pitchers.
Love sports, music, fishing, playing disc golf. Life is good
Been on OS since 2003. Mostly just an observer.Comment
