One other thing that wasn’t mentioned was custom teams. Specifically uniforms. I was really hoping we would get at least one alternate uniform option. Or at least the ability to edit them during the season.

We've all seen this one - you either get sucked into the wall or have to wait until the jogging animation plays all the way out. Either way, the runner is safe on a tag up.

Why didn't they show that yesterday?

That was a beautiful animation. And as good as fielding is in the game, the whole getting sucked into the wall animation always annoyed me.

I would also like to see them add the ability to start during the season too. Would be nice to pick up after the trade deadline and see if I can make a run for it.

This is a GREAT idea. Would love to be able to have "start from today's date" as an option for franchises I start late in the season.

What did everyone think of the new color scheme on the menus? Looked kind of white or maybe silver?

Simple thing but still a different look is always nice.

I don't mind the color scheme. Not a fan of the combo of fonts though.

With RTTS (thankfully) being untied to Diamond Dynasty, have SDS uncapped attributes for RTTS players? What about actually being able to change your position in an RTTS save? I've given up on Franchise in this series ever being worth 7 dollars let alone 70, so RTTS is the final reason I have to buy this game. And if they haven't done both of the above, I'm afraid I won't be buying until they do.

I've given up on Franchise in this series ever being worth 7 dollars let alone 70, so RTTS is the final reason I have to buy this game. And if they haven't done both of the above, I'm afraid I won't be buying until they do.

While they did say RTTS is now decoupled from DD, I don't think there are any structural changes to the mode yet to go along with that - if there were, I'd imagine they would have told us about them yesterday. I can at least say that I saw Programs and Equipment are still relevant to the mode - that 20 minute video had program stars and equipment packs as rewards for completing dynamic challenges. The nature of those programs, perks, base gains, archetypes and equipment (assuming all of that remains the same) most likely means it's still not possible to max out all attributes.

Detaching DD from RTTS seems like more of a move for the future rather than something that is going to make an immediate impact, so....you might be better off skipping this one.

I've adapted a hard line of not buying "The Show" once they got rid of y2y saves and I am sticking to that. The fact that they are finally getting DD elements out of RttS is a good thing. Also, having women in the RttS leagues is such a dope addition. It is, however, not enough for me to purchase '24.

Something I was wondering about from the Presentation part of the stream yesterday - they said they have Ben Gellman as a broadcaster in the game for the minor league games. Does that mean he's actually doing full play-by-play this year in the minors and Boog/Singleton are not present for those? They had a short clip of him in a postgame segment, but I'm not sure if only that is able to answer my question...

Whatever the case, it seems like he'll have a greater role in the game than just the scripted, live-action RTTS segments as in previous years. I wish they had expanded on this a bit more.

From my understanding, I think he's doing full commentary for minor league games in RTTS. While I love the fact that they went in that direction to separate the minors from the bigs, I'm not a huge fan of Ben Gellman in general from an audio standpoint. He could be a really good dude for all I know, but he annoyed me a bit in the last couple versions of the game.

Instead of fixing the problems in 9 inning games they shorten the games. I'll take a hard pass this year.

For all the time spent on nonsense they could have brought back y2y.

To clarify, they didn't shorten games, they added the option to shorten games. I don't need to opt in to shorter games but its like March to October, they're doing things to grow the amount of people who play franchise mode and that's a good thing. When more people want to play franchise, they can then justify investing more resources into it. It's going to be a slow growth process but franchise mode is on shaky ground and needs an influx of people to play. Just you and me and a fewer amount of others playing franchise than other modes isn't going to cut it. We need more people playing franchise, not less.

Absolutely. The more eyes on the mode, the more attention it gets. And, in a more cynical sense: the more people that see issues that tend to crop up later in franchises, the more attention THAT gets.

I think they could improve franchise my making micro transactions for it. Make us use XP or buy CP so we could maybe increase our budget, or give our GM a higher negotiation boost to attract free agents, even unlock the option to set ticket prices.

They do that in NBA2K, right?

Make franchise a money maker for SDS. That way it gets more attention.

Yes, but everyone hates 2k for it haha. You can play and earn VC but many just pay for it. And they’ve made the amount you earn from playing less and less and less each year.
