Ignore him he pokes the bear and tries to take underline shots at people. Not everyone can get along on the boards its best to sometimes just move on. Interact with people who you see eye to eye with. Best way to keep this place a happy home.

It’s not whether or not it’s OK, it’s how coding works. It also doesn’t mean all of the coding is from the 90s. It just means that’s the base and they’ve just been making updates from there. 2k does the same thing, they’ve just done a better job updating it when they made the switch to the previous console gen.

And they also got ripped to shreds for it because 2k14 was barebones and had limited features. But it allowed them to clear out a lot of legacy junk and move it forward to make necessary updates that we see in today’s game. But it still has a base from their original version way back in the 2000s

I went back to play 2K14 out of curiosity and it's interesting how much of the modern DNA is in that game. It's definitely a different experience, but some of the touches are still quite familiar

Was criticized at the time, but long term it turned out to be a great decision. It is one of the main reasons why I do wish SDS and EA would take a year or two off and just strip out a lot of the dated nonsense and recreate the base games for their offerings. SDS is the furthest away since the gameplay is in a great place, but it would allow them to add depth to the key modes that they can’t really do in a year.

I’d pay $20 for a roster update and some updated uniforms/faces for a year or two if it meant in 2-3 years, most of the updates the hardcore fans are looking for would get added to a drastically changed game. Not sure how the contractual obligation to the league impacts that though.

One of the games back in the day, I think it was All-Star Baseball used to have this feature. It was kind of annoying when it happened TBH.

              Iirc, MVP 05 had rainouts/double-headers.

I used to play a lot of high heat on the pc. But I cannot recall if it had rain outs. Getting old and forgetting stinks

While it would be kind of cool from a strategy standpoint, I'd be pretty pissed if I started playing a game and four innings in I was told it was rained out.

I actually didn't play much MVP 05. I'm probably one of the few that wasn't gaga over that game. I actually returned it and bought All-Star Baseball.

The right way to do it to have 3 different types of rainouts.

1 how it was done in MVP, a text box saying game rained out after _ innings , made up on date _____. They could keep the fatigue on players from that sim. This keeps you from wasting time playing innings that don't matter.

                          2. And they could keep using delays the way they have them now , resuming the game.

                          3. Or when appropriate under rules where you resume game from that point the next day or next meeting.

I remember the days when a new generation of consoles was released, the new games matched the technology of that particular console! The Sega Dreamcast comes to mind for me with 2K Football/Basketball back in 1998 or 99?

Genuine creativity in all types of games today not just sports games has taken a backseat. It's all about the Benjamins now and how they can grab with their dirty little hands the most $$$ out of you. Is as simple as that! lol
