Coupled with some immersive animations, the cutscenes seem to have a more realistic pace this year even if they are not new. It’s like a natural cut to a stadium view or a fielder checking his positioning card after a play.

Also this has been in previous editions but it’s stuck with me more, ballparks with roofs (retractable or not) can have overhead replay angles for close calls on the bases. Had a runner at 2B slider around a tag at the Trop and the overhead view was just so cool and something I hadn’t seen with that animation.
There are so many seemingly small additions that keep coming up the more games you play, if you don't press "x" too quickly and miss them. I just had one where in between pitches the camera cut to the runner on first base walking back to first and chatting with the first base coach.

Also, sound-wise, the swell of the crowd noise as the ball hit deep may or may not be a HR is great.

Lighting-wise, I think the various sun-lit parts of these stadiums are fantastic and they definitely aren't the same for each stadium, which is another bonus.

It's still a video game, and it still has some warts here and there, but '24 is the best iteration of the show in my opinion and seems to get better with each passing month that I play it.

I love the little things fielders do during the course of the game, like here when Candelario ducks at the very last second so as not to be decapitated by wicked bounce off a screamer of a grounder. It just adds to the overall immersion effect. They don't call it the hot corner for nothing.

I know this has been in for many years, but I love how due to lighting, you can really tell the difference between Spring, Summer, and Fall.

I played a game Twins vs Brewers in the Brewers 1st home game of the season.

Chourio hit his 1st HR and everyone in the dugout ignored him and he throws his arms up.

Just like it happened this year hitting his 1st HR.

Its kinda funny that there's another thread that went off the rails that started with someone begging for them to take this exact thing out

Pitcher fields the ball, starts running towards first and underhands the ball.

I've done the underhand flip with my second baseman. If the batter is really slow and my 2B fields a ball pulling him to first base, I will run him to first after he fields the ball, and throw it at the last second. He will underhand it most of the time.

Cloud shadow over outfield, changed during game. This is what progressive lighting means. Looking at you EA.

                            A very little detail :

Played a game in Oakland with a first pitch time of 6:40pm

Game went in a very long extra-innings game. At the beginning of the 14th on broadcast scorebox right above the scores they displayed «*Local Time : 10:57pm*»

Found it a funny reminder the game is going on very late loll

I've been playing some exhibition games set in August with a 1pm start in some of the warmer climate cities. I'm really impressed with the effect the temperature has on the players. Excessive sweating after a hard play, pitchers seem to labor and fatigue quicker even with small pitch counts.

Just played a game against the Cardinals in St Louis, and it was pretty cool to hear the crowd cheering “noooooooot” for Lars Nootbar. Don’t think I’ve heard that for any other player so far.
