Could be a bug for all I know, but it works itself out into being a nice little touch that batters don’t always have their sunglasses on, even when designated to do so.

I was just checking something in an exhibition game playing as the Cardinals when I heard the fans yelling "NOOOOOOOOOT!" when Lars Nootbar came up to bat.

Re: MLB The Show 24 Little Things Thread (Positive Little Things)
If this has happened to me before its been so long I don't remember it. I will throw over to first on occasion to keep the runner close on a big lead. I do not recall picking off a runner, well ever. Tonight, I throw over(Rays v Giants) and caught the runner leaning. The runner instead of diving back to the bag took off for second. This took me by complete surprise and I'm like ,WTF do I do know kinda of thing. By the time I actually threw to second, the runner easily had the stolen base.
I've been picked off a few times and at least I'm glad to see it is possible that I may get someone.Comment

The most recent patch, (which also included a likeness update for Ronald Acuña Jr.) included commentary updates mentioning the article Acuña authored in The Players Tribune which I thought was a very cool edition.
Even if youre not a braves fan, i think that is worth a read for anyone who likes baseball, like me.Last edited by JstnJ; 05-25-2024, 03:10 PM.Comment

I'm not sure if it's only triggered by multiple violations, but at some point the crowd starts counting down the pitch clock out loud.Boston Red Sox

Re: MLB The Show 24 Little Things Thread (Positive Little Things)
Had a player get a hit in their thirteenth straight game and Siggy mentions it and refers to it as a "Banker's dozen."
Of course a "Banker's dozen" refers to the number 11, because a banker always takes the interest off the top, not 13, which is a "Baker's dozen," because a baker always gives an extra pastry in case one is bad.Black & Gold 4ever!Comment

Re: MLB The Show 24 Little Things Thread (Positive Little Things)
I had a little thing that was both good and bad today. The good, down 7-0 in the 8th I noticed my runner on first wasn't being held on so I was able to steal second and third without a throw. Pretty cool that they adjusted their strategy to the score.
The bad, they counted both a stolen bases instead of defensive indifference. They did at least mention in the commentary that they weren't sure if it would be scored a stolen base or defensive indifference.Comment

Checking for spider tack - I think this was in last year's version but I'm not 100% sure. Either way it's a pretty nice touch that adds some realism to the game.

I realize now that it is a cool little thing they added in only in those specific scenariosComment

Re: MLB The Show 24 Little Things Thread (Positive Little Things)
General observation but I often wonder how many ‘little things’ discussed in this group were actually present in previous additions and we just didn’t notice. Seems like it’s be a high percentage.
Anyway I like that a crowd noise has been added for when a ball is hit deep, didn’t seem to be in previous additions. My only issue is you still get too many occasions where a HR ball is hit and there’s zero crowd reaction until it goes over the fence.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 24 Little Things Thread (Positive Little Things)
This year seems to be the edition of little things! I adore the lighting in 24, I have an LG C2 OLED 55” and the HDR pops in light cloud and sunsets, even sections of the field bathed in shadow as the clouds moved. Coupled with some immersive animations, the cutscenes seem to have a more realistic pace this year even if they are not new. It’s like a natural cut to a stadium view or a fielder checking his positioning card after a play.
Also this has been in previous editions but it’s stuck with me more, ballparks with roofs (retractable or not) can have overhead replay angles for close calls on the bases. Had a runner at 2B slider around a tag at the Trop and the overhead view was just so cool and something I hadn’t seen with that animation.God Bless The USAComment
