But stopping halfway where there is no possible way to throw them out unless you guessed and chose to throw to first base, that should be addressed. Have an animation where the runner has to slow and break down before heading back. That would at least allow for you to cancel your throw to 2nd and throw to first.Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
How do you tag a runner out? I often pitch a ball in the dirt when I think there's another suicide squeeze on. But my catcher just stands there as his guy steals home.
What am I doing wrong?
thanksComment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
Not much you can do, if it is in the dirt the catcher will block it and just sit there while the runner slides in safely.
On another note, I got blue-screen again (http://theshownation.com/boxscores/7328143).
Will they ever fix this...I doubt it.Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
New network interruption that I haven't see today. Game in extras, lag is fine the whole game. Then all of a sudden when I am batting the game freezes for 5 seconds at a time, then eventually it says lost connection. Good, seems like they lag switch themselves to death or something. Nope somehow I get the loss yet I never lost connection to The Show servers? I've been blue screen plenty, but getting the loss while staying connected hasn't happened to me yet as I can recall.
Record isn't that good, but I'd bet most his losses weren't even against human opponents that could affect their record. Average is .238 and 4.33 ERA. Definitely worthy of a top 30 ranking.
edit: Yeah something funky going on with them. Got matched again with them and I was late on everything, even if I guessed fastball and hit it way early. I was in a game similar to this with someone I know doesn't lag switch or anything so it may be their connection.Last edited by MrOldboy; 05-05-2015, 07:19 PM.Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
This isn't really an exploit but with the success rate it feels a bit over powering, at least. When I'm using my other (lower OVR rated) team I can't compete with the high inside FBs. I know they are coming but can never get around on a ball solidly. This type of pitching strategy is overly effective online and probably not something you'd see on TV all game long.
And just in case someone decides to ask, I do try my best to layoff these pitches when I I start my AB. If necessary, I'll let the first two strikes buzz by my nose.Comment

Played someone, maybe the most desperate person I have played ever. Used the pickoff glitch multiple times. I was actually able to beat it by having my runners leave for the next base which was frustrating for them.
Lets go down the list shall we
- pickoff glitch, failed then beaned next hitter.
- constant bunts, unsuccessful most of the time.
- steal every runner, got caught multiple times
- tried to blue screen at the end, failed
- tried the let pause menu expire, then quickly hit friendly quit to bait people into hitting square. I haven't seen this one since a year ago at least, when all else fails...
I made sure to A) not mercy them and to B) take my sweet time when they were batting at the end after the pause timer/friendly trick attempt.
This guy has been banned before and has multiple accounts, only game on their current account only has played MLB 15. Wish Sony had better tools to report people, but sadly trolls like this likely will get to continue on, making new accounts and using the PS+ of another account on their PS4.
The saddest thing of all is that they aren't just a troll, they want to win as well. Given their rating they've played plenty on this account and it'll likely just be a waste if he gets banned again. It's strange how people choose to use their time. I guess when you are a kid time doesn't matter much to you since you have all you want.Last edited by MrOldboy; 05-11-2015, 11:13 PM.Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
I don't know if this is an exploit, and I'm new so please forgive me if this is covered somewhere else, im just trying to get to the bottom of this:: I was down by 2 going into the 8th, end up coming back and taking the lead that inning, then close it out in the ninth. But as soon as I go to the home screen for DD, it gives my opponent (who lost) the Dynasty points, even though it showed my team winning and giving my starting pitcher the win!! Has this happened to yall or heard of it happening to someone?? If so, what can I do to get my points back???Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
Does the pickoff glitch still work if you don't take an extra lead? Are there multiple pickoff glitches. I know of one when the guy takes an extra lead but that's it. Honestly, I wish I knew more. Cause I just played the cheapest guy I've ever played. Had all base stealers in his whole lineup. I put bunt defense on with no one out and it worked fine. But when he did get a hit, I was screwed. Automatically stole second. Then I'd put bunt defense on again, but he would steal 3rd and bunt, and my 3rd baseman would go to cover to bag. Automatic bunt single. Which is ridiculous. As great as this game is, some of the programming is terrible. Bunts shouldn't be placed perfectly down the line no matter where the ball is pitched. Animations shouldn't take 5 minutes. The whole speed game is so unbalanced. The steal success is ridiculous. But also hits to right field wih high speed guys would result in outs at first if they didn't program the 1b to not cover 1st base. The whole defense in this game needs a big time overhaul.Uncle Ray Ray wants to Play!!Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
I don't actually know what people are referring as "pick-off glitch" here and I don't know if that's related to what I'm writing here, but has anyone noticed how you cannot really pick off base runners taking an extra step lead this year?
I often see my opponent taking an extra step lead and no matter how many times I try to pick them off (with different types of pickoff move), I cannot seem to have success, at least not as often as I used to before MLB 15. It used to be that your success of picking off was much higher when the runner takes an extra step lead.
Of course there is still a very significant chance that the pitcher throw away the pickoff, so as it stands it seems to me that the running game is too heavily favoring base stealers.
Has anyone noticed this?Comment

Taking a step off 2nd is pointless since you can't get picked it seems. Just make the default lead that at this point. With how OP stealing is they need to at least limit people to the default lead and make it risky to take the extra step.
The pick off glitch is definitely a glitch. Without being too specific, the fielding team can initiate something that forces your runner to take extra lead steps and you can't do much about it. You can hammer on L1 and sometimes take off, but then you have to hope for a wild throw or something.Comment

Re: How to defend against exploits in DD
Do you guys know when to press the button to throw on a stolen base attempt? It seems that about 3/4 of the time, I press to throw to the base, but the catcher just sits there; or I try to press again, and he pump fakes as I guess I cancelled the throw.
I got Yadier Molina as an after game reward, and decided to put him in my lineup because of defense/throwing, yet it's frustrating to see him not get a chance to throw them out on attempts where there's a good shot at catching them. He's not hitting for me, and is terribly slow. If I can't figure out the timing on the throws, I might as well just put Carlos Santana back in, who has been one of my better hitters.Comment
