Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
I feel like I'm getting nowhere in Conquest... I win some, I lose some. Move fans around, I take some bubbles and the CPU takes them back. I lose important games and feel like I'm right where I started. Even when I win it isn't enough to get anywhere. I need some strategy, I have no idea what I'm doing. Also am I suppose to ever move fans from my stronghold?
What am I doing wrong in this mode?
Thanks.
As of now I think I'm through about 35-40 turns and I have 124ish fans, and only one of my bubbles has more than 1 in it. Every one of my strongholds has only 1 fan in them. I have an outer bubble with about 55 fans in it that I use to go traverse the country with and take out the other strongholds. Then when the reinforcement stage comes, I put them all on that already-huge bubble and then move them if I need to if there is another team starting to eat in to my 1-fan bubbles over on the other side of my area. When Arizona and Houston were getting big and starting to eat in to my 1-fan non-strongholds, I took one turn and went and took out Houston while Arizona took about 10 more of my 1-fan bubbles, then the next turn I moved all my fans over near Arizona and took their stronghold out. I always prioritize taking out strongholds over anything else, but if I see that there's another team with 10+ fans that can start attacking my 1-fan bubbles, I'll move my fans over there to take them out, and then beeline to the nearest stronghold after that.Last edited by KleShreen; 04-26-2016, 09:42 AM.Comment

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
After being a numb nut not really knowing how to play the show and trying to dart it to STL my first attempt I quickly got the hang of conquest mode and finished in 37 turns. I would have finished in 35 but I wanted to play the last two games on rookie. All and all it was a lot of fun and put me much closer to getting Robin Yount. I didn't get anything out the packs but I had enough to nab Crosley field so that's cool, it's not lefty friendly however and I have ALOT of lefties.
Next I guess I'll be taking my 90% all time cardinals squad into head to head. I'm still missing rookie pujols, rookie molina, and cepeda. Gotta nab them sometime!Comment

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
^^^This is the problem I see with Conquest right now. Its fun the first time through, you're unlocking missions, completing missions, etc. After you go through it once maybe you do it a second time to work on "innings" missions. After you have done it a couple times, whats the incentive to keep playing it. If I want to innings grind, I will just play extra innings to mix it up.
In order to keep people playing that mode, they need to come up with some other rewards to keep people playing. Not the 10 pack bundles, but something. Or else, this is gonna be a dead game mode in a moth or 2.
They could do some challenges like:
1.Complete it with a team that has nobody higher than bronze playing
2.Complete with only a team of commons
3.Complete with only a team of flashbacks
4. Beat every team stronghold with a squad made up of only players from that team
5. Complete with a team that is all right handed or all left handed
6. Complete without simming once.
7. Complete it in "x" amount of turns or less
They could give out whatever rewards but people usually wont play something after they have already achieved the goal. The only way to keep it going is to add more goals to achieve.Comment

This was my thoughts exactly, and all of these are good ideas. I dont even want to know how long #6 would take lol-DaStreeb21
Great transactions w/: Cameren, Haleim, NMellor, Ray Bond IV, Willypete, Danab, Rsudac.Comment

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
I started through on my third time through last night. I was going to try to complete it differently, namely head east instead of west. I soon found out I really needed to head back west to pick up the easy bubbles with no fans, in order to keep my territory count up and get plenty of reinforcements. When you go east, it's too crowded and all the teams attack each other. It's harder to build up your reinforcements.
So another fix is to make sure the game can be attacked effectively with many different strategies.Comment

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
If I play again then I will play out more attack phases and not play below all-star difficulty. Between my first play through of this mode and grinding innings in the Extra Innings mode, with it's broken difficulty, I have gotten out of practice and all-star difficulty. I need the practice.Comment

I have already beaten the mode once so it won't bother me too much if I fail at a harder difficulty level.Comment

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
How do the innings counts work? If you use a pinch hitter, does his appearance count as one inning? If you use a reliever for one batter, does that count as one inning? If you use a reliever for 1.1 innings, does that count as 2 innings? Etc.Comment

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
So been reading thru here today and watched a video or two. So what's best strategy? I know get all the territories you can. But is it make a beeline to Seattle and attack there stronghold first? Or make a beeline west and keep taking territories? I've previously take. 2 territories, MIN and CHI in my current game but Houston is rolling over me now with a couple strong points taking massive chunks of my territories each turn.Comment

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
Never mind my thoughts worked. Made a beeline for Sea, too Colorado along the way tho cause it was easy. So far I have been able to take SEA, COR, LAA, LAD. And contained Arizona and SD and own most of west US. Getting 68 replacements on last oneComment

Re: Conquest Question and Answer Thread
I beat this mode last night after an initial reset where I headed east first. i did what most on here have said to do and completed it in less than 30 turns.
i started out taking the empty territory to the north and surrounding Colorado and heading towards Seattle. I used a couple of capture phases early to knock down Colorado and Seattle strong holds. Once i took those 2 strongholds, I rolled south down the coast, headed east through Arizona and Texas, went into Florida and then up the East Coast. While in Florida I started wiping out the Mid-West with a separate group. It got kinda old playing Toronto for like 6 strongholds in a row in the East.
I am gonna reset and play all games on All-Star or higher this time and hope for some better post-game rewards. Rolling through on rookie only netted me a bunch of commons and low bronze.
My 10 pack bundle for completing was pretty disappointing. I only got the guaranteed silver, 1 other silver, and gold cleats. Oh well, thats the nature of the beast I guess.Comment
