Having a surprising amount of trouble getting 10 hits with Jackie. Dude just cannot hit for me, my pitchers hit better. It's the combination of that slow old timer swing and zero power I think, just leads to terrible contact more often than not. I think I'm about 1/15 with him today

Working on Braves team epic and trying to get 15 doubles with Joe Torre to finish his career arc. I cant hit a double with Torre to save my life. The amount of innings you need to pitch to finish team epics are absurd. Im pretty much done with the hitting stats, just need 50 more pa's, But I still need 125 innings pitched, ugh.Comment

Man I can’t hit a double with George Brett if my life depended on it. Any good stadiums for him to hit it in?

Re: What are you working on thread
Finally finished George Brett's Conquest mission. Took me 87 freaking games to do it with him.
I also finished the Phillies team epic tonight.

Re: What are you working on thread
Just doing the team Epics to get all the stadiums while. While doing so I unlocked the CF De Aza. You have to get a BB and a SB. Not going to get that playing on rookie...I tried it in conquest...after restarting 14 times I finally went to AS. It then took 4 games to get a walk.
Interestingly enough....I was hitting balls down the line and keep them fair as well as not being late on curveballs which I am constantly late on rookie and veteran.
I ended up with 5 doubles and a homer. 2 for Piazza!
Never would have expected that......Comment

Also, probably the biggest problem, is that you just don't concentrate on Rookie and swing at everything without engaging your brainComment

Almost completed conquest pt 1. Got the mlb hitting stats done no problems in the first attempt but got screwed with the pitching stats, apparently giving up two earned runs through 6 isn't a quality start.Comment

Re: What are you working on thread
I'm struggling to stay motivated to play DD tbh, I feel as though I've done most of the even remotely "fun" things to do and all that is left is the really tedious grinds (IP, PA, beating teams on rookie a lot) and the stuff that's just buying stuff (exchanges, collections).
Think I might be going full time on franchise before too long as I'm just not feeling it this year. I only need 20 more holds to get 50% Gossage, 100 more for Wagner and about 20 strikeouts for Gibson, but after that I think I'll take a break.
I currently have 228 pages of completed orders, despite not "playing the market" at all and only buying about 4 players who I actually wanted. That kind of sums up this year for me, endless buying of stuff I don't actually want.Comment

I'll probably give Conquest Extreme a try too, but that will likely be it. And that's cool...I'll just head back to Franchise and RttS.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: What are you working on thread
Right now with Williams out of the way and my high-water mark at WC in Ranked seasons I'm just playing some vs. CPU games to get stats - Cubs team epic, my CAP (low diamond right now), and a few other programs. I don't really even call it grinding because I'm playing at HoF or Legend, and it scratches the "just play baseball" itch. That's really the main reason I play DD in the first place after all - as a substitute for all the Play Now games I used to play in the course of a year. If I get rewards from doing that....just a bonus.
Also, doing dailies and selling any souvenirs I get that I'm not immediately putting toward completing programs (Ruth's teams, mostly) Some of them can sell for quite a bit right now since everyone's looking to buy those silver hats for team epic completion. Also hanging onto those souvenirs that aren't being used towards programs right now in the hopes that they will be later (which will raise their sell value)
Sold Blackmon for about 68k as he's not really an improvement on my current lineup (got a little extra value out of that from the lefty event), and used it to buy some pitching, Syndergaard and Chris Archer. The hopes being that I bought now while velocity isn't that valuable, but that they'll raise pitch speed in high Ranked at some point and my staff will instantly come better. Plus it helps me beat the CPU, so there's that too.
Might take some more shots at conquest extreme soon - team's up to 83 overall and winning mutiple games on Legend should be a lot more doable.Last edited by bcruise; 04-17-2018, 10:54 AM.Comment

Re: What are you working on thread
I love the collecting aspect and not the online competitive portion, so I am slowly grinding away all the programs and team epics. Currently focused on position player missions, the bronze and silver ones that lead up to the programs. I only have a few left, Brock Holt, Nava, Joyce, Salty, and Hanigan. The doubles are just killing me.Comment

Re: What are you working on thread
I actually find hitting on Rookie pretty tough sometimes as it's just too easy to hit the ball. The smaller your PCI, the better really as it minimises bad contact. on Rookie you put a lot of balls in play that you really should have missed completely and that's not a good thing! The timing is tough as well as it's so slow.
Also, probably the biggest problem, is that you just don't concentrate on Rookie and swing at everything without engaging your brain
I saw someone comment about pitch speed changing how the ball comes off the bat. It sure seems like on rookie any ball down the line curves foul. That didn't happen at all on All Star. Is in game pitch speed tied to hit type??? That seems like a poor implementation between difficulty levels if it is true. It seems like it limits certain types of hits. I saw things in my All Star game I didn't even know were possible in the game. I guess I don't really know enough about how it works.Comment

Re: What are you working on thread
I can score a ton of runs on rookie. I also have some stinkers. I have really learned to focus on waiting for good pitches.
