This same thing just happened to me but I was trying to take out Reds. Destroyed them on Legend while stealing fans, then go to finish them off during attack on veteran. Cruising with Verlander. Im spraying line drives all over the place right at outfielders. 0-0 with 2 outs in 3rd and their pinch hitter goes down 0-2 and then starts hitting 34 foul balls. Count ends up 2-2 after god knows how many pitches, and Jesse Winker hits an absolute bomb off Verlander to walk off.

Conquest plays so different from play vs cpu to me.

I should have Lee Smith's diamond card shortly, and basically just need the innings to finish Morris' pretty soon also. Then (outside of the 2 programs not up for Hoffman yet) I'll have all the pitchers done. Doubt I'll worry too much about the Immortals unless the prices on jerseys comes down or they change the requirements. Bad enough buying 40 a pop for the mid-level programs, having to more than triple that is not something I'm keen on doing. Their diamond cards should be just fine for me.

Scrolling through my programs, and noticed that Conquest didn't say 'complete'. Went in, and forgot to unlock 3 packs. Pulled a Verlander and a Dexter Fowler BO, so that was a nice bonus. Just hit Silver too, and debating on whether or not to get that Kendrys card from the Ticket Counter. Looking at it, I noticed that they spelled his name wrong on the card. It's right in the info screen, but wrong on the card. His Live Series card is fine.
Nice work man I see you've been grinding hard too!

I'm pretty bummed about my Saberhagen game from yesterday where I gave up that solo HR in the 9th. Really want to move onto 3-inning conquest games so I can just spam holds/saves.

So right now my career arcs (CA) look like:
Doby - 95% done just hats left and I'll do as I get them, you get the diamond 90 without completing hats
Saberhagen - need the CG SHO to complete the CA
Sutton - 100% complete and I love his 90 card
Lee Smith - I need to do the player/jersey/hat exchanges to get his AS card and finish this
CAP CP - I need a couple holds to upgrade him to step #3 and silver

On the immortal sets I'm pretty close with Piazza to knocking out his 10 2B's objective as well as the single season stats of like 40 HR and 124 RBI. I need 2 HR I believe. I have Chipper plugging along at his rookie season stats and I'm not very far off.

I need to find a method to get more hats for the exchanges...

Looking forward to team epics and the new season event that pops up. I'll likely start playing more online H2H matches once that drops.

The next card I really, really want is that diamond Wagner. One area you don't get much "reward" for doing conquest is the bullpen. The gold Nolan Ryan is decent but a shut down closer would be huge.

If I had to put a lineup together today an online H2H game it would probably look like:

C - silver Yasmani Grandal : He absolutely rakes but that 7 spd makes 2B's a struggle
1B - gold Adrian Gonzalez or gold Jackie Robinson
      2B - gold Brian Dozier
      3B - silver Miguel Sano
SS - gold Ian Desmond : This card absolutely rakes and decent defensively
RF - gold Jim Edmonds : this card plays above his ratings big time
      CF - diamond Larry Doby
LF - diamond Luis Gonzalez : haven't really used this card but he looks good

      Rotation
      Diamond Don Sutton
      Diamond Bret Saberhagen
      Diamond Cole Hamels
Silver Shohei Ohtani - just because
      Gold Marco Estrada

The budget squad is decent right now but if I go up against somebody who spent money they'll 100% have a talent advantage over this team. Every time I see a stream they have Trout and I'm like "That's a $300 card!!!".

Finally hit my 25th double with Ripken to unlock hardware Ripken. So what is his mission? Hit 2 doubles in the same game with him.

Nice work. The Saberhagen card is much better than the Nolan Ryan diamond you go for in his arc. If you can try and unlock the Nolan Ryan gold card RP though it’s a beast. Good stamina and 100+ fastball with a filthy curve

Trying to beat the Rangers in 2 turns, but the Orioles challenged bugged hard on me. I beat them on the third turn, and it didn't count for that challenge, so If I have to run through the Tigers and Yankees again to get to them, I might just uninstall instead

I posted earlier about completing needed stuff to unlock the diamond Nolan Ryan and was disappointed I have now used him in 4 starts and even perfect timed metered pitches miss the mark badly.....on rookie....anybody have him and notice this? To advance the rest of his missions you need a CG 13 strikeout shut out and with every batter taking 6-7 pitches to retire on rookie I’m not sure I want to take it on. Is it me just not pitching well with him or anyone else seeing this.

Just looking at Nolan Ryan, I'd think It's wiser to go after Tom Seaver, but that's just me

I managed that pretty easy despite his control issues. His stamina is so high he can throw a lot of pitches to make up for it, his bigger problem is the lack of a slider

Gonna lose my mind trying to finish off this part of conquest extreme. Just gotta beat the Marlins in 3 turns but every single time I try to steal fans on turn 2 I lose on the biggest bull**** ever. I just blew 4 saves in the same game against the Padres. Every single time I take the lead, I get two outs and then I get blooped to death. Before that, I blew a 4 run lead to the Rays trying to steal fans without them hitting the ball out of the infield. That isnt a joke or exaggeration at all. I have never wanted to snap a controller in half more than I do now haha

I noticed after one of the patches that rookie got harder...I have actually given up more hits and runs on rookie than veteran for a while now. Kind of strange.

Something weird is going on. Rookie has gotten no harder for me. This past weekend I played probably 7-10 games and I smoked the computer in almost all of them. Double digits in runs and pitchers getting double digit strikeouts.

Thought it was just me , still winning games on rookie in conquest but the games have been going 6 innings plus. Getting a tonne of deep fly balls and line drive outs. Veteran definitely feels easier.

In fairness I haven't played much since Far Cry 5 dropped. I was giving up runs on rookie before that. They may have tuned it back or something.

I actually hit better on HOF as far as hits and runs. Not that I hit any homers...lol

Funny when the game first came out I thought rookie seemed harder than veteran but then I started smoking the CPU on rookie. After the last patch I feel the CPU plays a little better on rookie but it’s still an easy win. I have actually allowed the CPU to tie ganes so I can get guys up to complete missions and still win. I do get ganes where I just fly out or hit weak grounders a lot and have seen more extra inning games but I wonder how much of that is complacency on my part knowing it’s on rookie....swinging at everything and not focusing on pitch location as much for example.
