Only one more Joe Torre double to go and I've completed my first career arc mission , been stuck on 14 for ages. Need 30 runs and rbi's to finish the Doby arc and need 2 more wins for the Saberhagen IV card.

Getting impatient waiting for the next souvenir missions for Utley, Carter and Molitor to get their diamond cards.

Finally finished the Joe Torre career arc , now to start the long grind with rookie Chipper.

Some of you will hate me but i got the George Brett mission done in my first attempt with a bit of luck on my side. Got a single on the first pitch of the game with him and then with 2 down in the 3rd i blooped a little pop up into left-centre and just took the risk and went for second and made it comfortably because Pillar was off with his throw. Was able to knock out the Karros , Murphy and Martinez in the same game too.

The Crawford one is the only one I've really struggled with so far , the Mazeroski and Baines look like i will struggle with.

It's better, and while it's not available yet, the 93 Yadi is available and the best catcher

I don't know, Piazza has the power and that's pretty much the only rating that seems to matter this year. I'm struggling to notice any difference in catchers fielding rating this year, now they've "fixed" the catchers they are all great defensively.

My updates:

83 Gold Jackie is finally mine
Bret Saberhagen and Don Sutton are nearly complete
Lee Smith is close to being done
Pretty close to getting that Larry Doby AS OF stat mission done

I'm excited for the Sutton/Saberhagen diamond cards, especially Sutton. I feel like he'll be a tough guy to hit in ranked seasons.

Still on that no money spent grind and my team is decent. It's encouraging I'm making this solid progress without buying any stubs.

Man you guys a chugging away. Nice job. Right now the only Immortal I’m really focused on is Ruth. Trying to finish the Williams arc. Also trying to get this stupid Duda mission done as I’m guessing he’ll be required for Frank Thomas. Slow and steady for me haha

Finally managed that bloody Jackie Robinson mission at about the 1000th attempt. I thought 25 doubles with Ripken would be beyond a chore but it turns out the man is a doubles machine, so far having 17 from his 38 hits, really putting Jackie one base to shame.

Also, the game flat out refuses to let me use Jack Morris. I've had his diamond card for an absolute age now, always in my rotation and always playing every inning available, yet he is only on 54 innings pitched. I actually gave up and pinch hit with him last game so he could stay in the game and pitch the remaining 8 innings. No idea why they force this stupid "random" pitchers on us in single player, also not remotely convinced it's random

I’ve had some success with changing my rotation around and moving them into another slot. I went 30 restarts without pulling Wad Davis in conquest. Finally swapped some pitchers out and moved him from 4 to 3 and he popped up on the first try. So I dunno maybe that might work?

But I agree, when mission pitchers are in the lineup it really really really doesn’t feel random.

Next game i played after I posted this i finished all three lol. This is the furthest I've gone into conquest mode before. Just have the AL East left to conquer and the Blue Jays hold all the remaining strongholds.

I was lucky with Crawford one. It only took 4 ganes and I did it in a 3 inning Diamond Dynasty game. The first inning he had two easy grounders hit too him and I was fortunate enough to hit a seeing eye single with his only at bat. Pure luck...I tried him at catcher and he never dropped the ball.

I have finally finished the Bronze Piazza doubles and just need to grind stats with Catchers.

Yes. If you are going to try and get a particular pitcher in rotate your pitchers around before restarting. This seemed to help

Once i got the hit with him i put him in at the catcher spot and threw knucklers and curves in the dirt with Wright and got the assists the first two hitters. Feels a bit cheap but i just wanted to finally get it out of the way haha.

Managed to grind out the hat exchange and get Piazza, I'm now pretty much completely broke but figure my team is as good as it'll get so I may as well try and attack Conquest Extreme. I know I'm not good enough to complete it, but I should hopefully be able to eventually knock out all the single team missions. I'm currently at 30% after essentially doing all the easy ones, either the one turn ones or the ones where you have plenty of time to get there even without playing on Legend

Working on the AL Hitting stats for conquest. Somehow in 3 games I can't get any of them to hit a home run. I have achieved the other three goals in every game with them but I can't even seem to get a HR with Edmonds.

And JD Martinez is back in my lineup for this (grrrr). I can't even buy a hit with him when facing lefties. I am not sure he has ever hit a DR for me.

Oh, and i got a double with IV Joe Torre in hiis first at bat and then managed to go hitless with him the rest of the game.

I should post here more often. My next game after posting this not only did I get my Home Run by of all people Harold Baines. Then once that happened both Edmonds and Martinez decided join in and hit one.

And Torre finally decided it was time not just for a single and a double but also a HR.

Next up. MLB stats. I am most worried about the triple.
