    I personally like control guys with nice off speed. I feel even online they'll be effective. Low breaking pitches this year are the way to go IMO.

    Just tried to get his CG SHO...gave up a solo HR in the 9th. Final line was a CG with 4 H, 1 ER, 20 K

      I just need a few hat buys to go through and I'll have that Saberhagen as well.

      I don't know if a switch got flipped or what, but I've been on a HR tear with Edmonds, including a big one in a Legend Conquest Extreme game. I think I have 5 with him today so far, this after having 6 since acquiring him.

      Also, with Desmond and Edmonds hitting back-to-back, I couldn't help but notice that their last names are anagrams of each other.

Also, do you play the games to take over non-stronghold spaces that a CPU team occupies when you're making your way to your destination? There doesn't appear to be a clear path to the Yankees, so at least one confrontation looks necessary before getting to New York.

        Also, I'm at 25% now. I beat the Dodgers on Legend today. Luckily I avoided Kershaw and Hill...ended up drawing Maeda. 3-0 win that came down to the wire as they had the bases loaded with Justin Turner up in the bottom of the 3rd. Benoit came through and got the flyout I needed. Slowly but surely making progress!
        Yeah the Yankees part was the hardest because its a stretch to get there, you have to play a game against Brewers to get there, but I just simmed that one because simming it 30 times or w/e until you win is still quicker than playing. Then you have to go through Detroit a few times to get to NY. After you get through them though it was fairly easy.

        Brewers game is only one I simmed because its just at the beginning and simming until you win and restarting doesnt hurt, after that I played everything.

          I've successfully taken Miami to put me up to 50%, all I need now is the Yankees and Red Sox, which you'd hope could be done in the same run. Seriously tough going though!

          What's everyones lineup looking like for their extreme runs? Mine is

          SS- AS Desmond (I swear I play lefties 75% of the time)
          C- AS Piazza 88
          CF- AS Billy Williams 90
          LF- J.D. Martinez 82
          RF- AS Griffey79
          2B- CAP 78
          1B- BR A.Gon 81
          3B- IV Ripken 78 (he's awful, but I lack an obvious superstar at 3rd so I may as well try and get my doubles)

          Then with Hamilton, Bonafacio and 84 Gary Carter as my regular bench guys

            Right now I'm rolling with this. I'll be making a few additions soon, but so far I've lost only one of eight games I've played in Conquest extreme:

            2B AS Richie Ashburn
            SS Ian Desmond
            CF Jim Edmonds
            LF Luis Gonzalez
            3B Edgar Martinez
            1B Adrian Gonzalez
            RF Matt Joyce
            C Alex Avila

            Bench has silver Encarnacion, Byron Buxton, and Rookie Larry Doby (80 ovr). Ashburn gets on base consistently, and I need him and Joyce to help me grind stats for Diamond Doby

              For now:

              SS - CAP - 82
              C - Torre - 89
              2B - Rendon - 84
              CF - Edmonds - 84
              1B - Cepeda - 86
              RF - Upton - 80
              LF - Gonzalez - 87
              3B - Martinez - 85

              Bench is diamond Hanley, Conforto. I dont really steal much.

              Rendon and Upton were boosted a bunch but inside edge shuts off every 5 minutes so.

                  I just noticed that Billy Williams can't actually play CF, yet he's been fine there. The other outfielders on the other hand seem hell bent on gifting runs by running over the ball, letting it dribble past them all the way to the wall or whatever it takes to get the runs home

                    Re: What are you working on thread

                    OMGOMGOMG I just finished the Torre mission, all because I couldn't close a game in the 9th. 2-2, T12 1 out and (at 1-4) he hits a decently hard ball to RF that Schebler dives after and missed. Coulda got to 3rd, but yeah right. Doby comes up behind him and hits a soft fly over 3rd that I knew was dropping so Torre chugs home. I'm so happy.

                    My lineup for this game, but I change it around alot

                    2B = Andrus (had Ashburn here but I went 0-fer after putting him in the lineup again)
                    SS = AS Desmond
                    CF = AS Edmonds
                    1B = Hoskins (I got him as an after game drop yesterday. Uh, he RAKES.)
                    RF = AS Joyce
                    C = Grandal (need a couple more HRs to finish Piazza catcher stats)
                    3B = IV Torre BYE BYE JOE
                    LF = R Doby

                    Rotation

                    90 PS Saberhagen
                    88 PS Morris
                    85 BO Gibson
                    85 AS Hamels
                    84 BO Estrada

                    I have Sutton, but all my pitchers at the moment are used for some kind of mission.

                      I need 2 more doubles with Ripken, 2 more with Piazza (although he's going nowhere as he's a monster) and 3 homers with Griffey. All so close I can taste them (although both Griffey and will just unlock another version of them with another mission so I'll be stuck with them a while yet. I now hate Cal Ripken Jr)

                        I decided to give Conquest Extreme a try since I was not interested in paying stubs to start any other programs, at least not before Team Epics come out.

                        I had been worried about playing on the harder difficulties but I did the missions for the Cubs and the Rockies and beat them both on Hall of Fame. The Cubs fell 5-0 thanks to a spurt of home runs (Sorry Darvish) and the Rockies fell 2-0 on a HR and a manufactured run (Harold Reynolds stealing second and third to close out his mission)

                        So apparently I can hold my own on Hall Of Fame.

                            It's a very frustrating experience as some games nothing you hit seems to find a gap, leaving you constantly susceptible to that out of nowhere 450 foot homer, no matter what difficulty you're on

                              Well, I have two teams left in CE...Yankees and Red Sox. Got to the Yankees, and was up 3-0 going into B3. Then, Brett Gardner hammers a grand slam to walk it off. I've been too ticked off to go back on since. Not looking forward to going through all the games to get there again.

                              Lineup looks like:

                                Got Saberhagen done. His changeup is filthy. One of my favorite pitches to throw right now (really like AS Hamels' Cutter too). His curveball is nice too. Wish his slider was a bit better, but whatever. Unlocked Hoffman's IV card (Brewers, yay). Looking forward to using it. I should have Lee Smith's diamond card shortly, and basically just need the innings to finish Morris' pretty soon also. Then (outside of the 2 programs not up for Hoffman yet) I'll have all the pitchers done. Doubt I'll worry too much about the Immortals unless the prices on jerseys comes down or they change the requirements. Bad enough buying 40 a pop for the mid-level programs, having to more than triple that is not something I'm keen on doing. Their diamond cards should be just fine for me.

                                Scrolling through my programs, and noticed that Conquest didn't say 'complete'. Went in, and forgot to unlock 3 packs. Pulled a Verlander and a Dexter Fowler BO, so that was a nice bonus. Just hit Silver too, and debating on whether or not to get that Kendrys card from the Ticket Counter. Looking at it, I noticed that they spelled his name wrong on the card. It's right in the info screen, but wrong on the card. His Live Series card is fine.
