Nope. They are doing it this way to prevent people from unlocking immortals quickly.

This was my first thought too. But this strategy is only good once you reach 70%, which means you still have to play games on Legend to reach the other objectives at the beginning.

Still a hard pass from me.

Two doubles and two rbi's with rookie Chipper is hell. If i get the doubles I've never got anyone in position to score, when i get the runners in position to score he hits singles or homeruns. I've almost got all the stats for the other chipper missions done but this one is a pain in the ***.

Just wait until the 15 doubles with 89 Torre. Sure it sounds easy with an 89 but I can assure you the feelings towards George Brett are slowly fading away and transitioning to Torre...

The 25 doubles with Ripken also are testing my patience. I rope base hits with them both all over the place...besides the gaps. I think I have 12 2B's with Cal and 4 with Torre. I might wrap up Torre by June.

The Joe Torre one took awhile but this rookie Chipper mission has taken me so much longer. I don't know what it is with these guys and their doubles fetish. The fact i can hit 3 hr and get 9 rbis in one game with Rookie Chipper but can't get two doubles and the 2 rbi's in the same game is just so stupid, i shouldn't be getting pissed off because I'm hitting homeruns.

All i need is the two doubles and rbi's to unlock the IV Chipper.

I have about 100k stubs right now.

Should I go for 50% of the live series collection to get Rodney and Felix or should I go for the autographed bats to get Stargell?

Re: What are you working on thread

The grinding is really paying off. I made some big acquisitions and unlocked some great rewards in the last week or so. My all-time Indians team is almost complete for this point in the season, until they drop Albert Belle, Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, Kenny Lofton, or CC Sabathia. The only short-term goal I have is finishing the Tigers team epic for Diamond Victor Martinez (the innings pitched requirement is killing me). There aren't nearly enough quality bullpen arms from the Indians, so I'm just filling the pen with whoever I want, and I'm a few players short in the field/on the bench. That said, here's how the squad is looking (no money spent):

                        C Gold Carlos Santana
                        1B Diamond Edwin Encarnacion
                        2B Diamond Jose Ramirez
                        SS Diamond Omar Vizquel
                        3B Diamond Francisco Lindor
                        LF Gold Michael Brantley
                        CF Gold Jim Edmonds
                        RF Diamond Larry Doby

                        SP Diamond Bob Feller
                        SP Diamond Corey Kluber
                        SP Diamond Orel Hershiser
                        SP Diamond Carlos Carrasco
                        SP Gold Danny Salazar

                        RP Silver Mike Dunn
                        RP Gold Joaquin Benoit
                        RP Gold Cody Allen
                        RP Gold Dellin Betances
                        RP Silver Chris Sale
                        RP Gold Nolan Ryan
                        CP Diamond Andrew Miller

A few notes on newly acquired players for those who are going after them (against the CPU only thus far):
-Diamond Vizquel is easily the best fielder I've used in the game. He gets to *everything* and gets great animations to get the ball to first quickly. He also has a better arm in the game than he did in real life
-Vizquel is a singles hitter, which many won't like since this game is so geared towards power. I wouldn't fill my lineup with similar players, but he definitely has a place in a high-level lineup. I'm hitting well with him, stealing a ton of bases, and he's also a great bunter/drag bunter, for what that's worth
-Diamond Feller is a flamethrower. Hit 101 on the gun last night. He's a strikeout machine with incredible stamina. I have no regrets about locking that collection
-Diamond Hershiser has been underwhelming. He's one of my favorite players ever, but his Diamond hasn't pitched like one so far. It's a small sample size, but he's far from dominant
-I had some stubs left over after all my Indians acquisitions, so I picked up Betances, who is a monster. Totally overpowering fastball with wicked breaking stuff
-If you're like me and hadn't been checking the Immortal missions, I highly encourage you to do so. I started looking around the other day and saw I'd completed a task for the Nolan Ryan immortal that unlocked his Gold PS card. Not sure how long it's been sitting there, but I'm glad I finally figured it out. He's incredible...and he'll cost you 0 stubs

I Was trying to make the WS in ranked play but after getting my rank up to 888 my team seems to have forgotten how to play baseball I am now back down to 740 and thinking about selling the game haha games seem determined by the cpu and diamond players don't seem any better than silvers, when Joey Gallo steps to the plate you need to pitch him like he's Barry Bonds

I wouldn’t say games are predetermined but I agree with you on players. There needs to be better differential between stars and below average players. It does seem that during ranked season games only that this balancing act comes by into play. A guy with 35 speed should not be able to beat out a squib hit between the catcher and pitcher. No player let alone a bronze average joe should be able to jack an opposite field homerun on a pitch 3 inches away from his nose. Well aimed and metered pitches should not magically go right down the middle of the plate or 10 feet off it.
These are all things I have witnessed in ranked season play. In the age of micro transactions most games have a balancing mechanism to keep players engaged and spending. EA even has a patent on their specific one.
I’m not saying this is going in this game but it wouldn’t shock me. So far the vast majority of my ranked season games have been good and when I lose it’s usually because the guy I’m playing is just better than I am or having a luckier game than me. One thing I can say is having a team full of diamonds doesn’t make me a better player lol.

Some of the double requirements are so hard because the guys are slow and hit so weakly.
