I think my problem is playing the CPU over and over on rookie gets to me after awhile. I was creaming 20+ hits a game and now im only getting 8-9....I think I get so bored and impatient I don’t focus and start swinging at everything. Mind numbing at times

If I may....work in some games on All Star to break up the monotony. I play about 1/2 of my games on All Star and the other half on rookie/vet (depending on what I am looking for). The benefit for me is that it keeps me more disciplined at the plate; keeps my eye sharp in looking for my pitch. Heck, I very often put up BETTER numbers on All Star than rookie just because I am more focused.

I cant do this Buddy Bell mission. My very first hit with him was a 2 rbi double. I went hitless rest of the game. I can barely get the ball out of the infield with him now.

I had a lot of trouble with it too but I finally got it. The games he didn't pitch I'd just pinch hit him for the first batter of the game and let him play LF

How did you hit the homerun with him with his power being so horrible? Did you use power swing? I can get plenty of base hits with him, just can't hit one over the fence. I bought Polo Grounds hoping I can hit one in the gap, but it hasn't happened yet.

I've hit 4 with him now, honestly they just seem kind of flakey. All 4 have been off RHP's down the line with power swing. Hit one opposite field at Petco. I did it the first time against the white Sox at us cellular and I actually did it again in only 3 abs on the road against the Padres

Fair point!

I'm working on the Bench arc now and I scored 17 runs in the 1st inning with silver catchers + 97 Frank...then I went cold because I stopped focusing the rest of the game. Ended up probably with 25 runs so and 35 hits.

I typically get 30+ hits per game, which helps things go faster.

Not getting good production from these rookie games would hurt my drive.

I was just going to play this event to get the 10 wins for the All Star missions for Tony Gwynn but I started out 6-2 last night. May try to go for the 35 to get Joey Bats. Depends on how much time I have though.

The computer has completely stopped throwing me strikes on rookie lately. Im trying to mindlessly grind while watching the Braves, cut the **** game.

When I did the silver Catchers stats I was crushing the ball. Then I went to the Gold catcher stats and still crushed it for awhile with everyone except Gold Johnny Bench...then I went into a bit of a struggle but started hitting with Bench. I think that shows is it’s more about me losing focus and swinging away but I focused on Bench because he was struggling. I stepped away yesterday for a bit then went back and started crushing balls again. Went and did some conquest games to rack up SP wins while adding to my Catchers stats. The one thing about destroying the CPU is you don’t get many Hold or Save situations. Sometimes I will leave a position player on the mound and toss fat changeups until I’m in a Save situation.
I only need 25 more hits with my Catchers.

An additional positive is the only two positions I didn’t use a catcher at was SS and 2B. I used Silver Dejong and Gold Ripken. Ive now Unlocked the the Breakout Larkin and I’m 3 Doubles away from finishing up Ripken. Closing in on my Immortal Piazza, Immortal Ripken, and Inmortal Ryan. I have a few busy days coming up where I can’t play but I should have them by middle of next week.

I've been able to manage to find a way to get past most of the more challenging/annoying player missions......but I just can't get past this Hanigan. I either hit the double early and then can't get the RBI, even getting intentionally walked with runners on 2nd/3rd just so the pitcher can get to diamond Pujols/Stargell (yea righto!!!). Or sometimes I nail the 2 RBI early and just need the double. Today I nailed the RBI early and thought surely the double would come.....his next two at bats he mashes home runs FFS. This is ridiculous.

Also....last two games I've played I've recorded CG shutout's with silver Bud Norris & Silver Seaver. Of course there is no chance this happens when I have Shields up who actually needs it.

After two weeks of grinding, I've acquired:

Immortal Ken Griffey, Jr.
Immortal Nolan Ryan
Diamond CC Sabathia
Diamond Albert Belle
Diamond Roberto Alomar

The (almost) all Indians squad is better than I ever could have imagined. I still plan on going after Immortal Billy Wagner, but my bullpen is already very strong and that grind is ridiculous so for now it's time to jump back into RS!
