Why do people hate the mode so much? I think MTO is really fun as you get to actually play with some normal players. (I haven't touched franchise in two years).?

I think it's insanely dull and boring to play. I can (and have) play(ed) every pitch of a 162 game season in franchise and have a blast. MtO just feels like a never-ending Moment....it feels completely 'off' to me. Add to that is the fact that you have very limited roster control, no injuries, and trades are too easy (with no negative ramifications), there's just ZERO intrigue for me.

When I play franchise mode (and I play that a ton), I want to play franchise. When I play DD, I want to use my DD team - more than anything, that is my biggest gripe about the entire content structure this year (and last).

I did MtO with the Rockies & Yankees and no doubt the points are great. But I find just playing MtO is too frustrating. The ump makes horrendous balls/strikes calls and it seems the CPU will pull out hits/home runs no matter what. So even though it’s pretty cake, it isn’t fun to play.

So just to clarify this double point MTO thing...

If I’m at 0 TA points for a team and start an MTO on veteran when I get halfway through the regular season I will get 11 points for stage 1 and 11 points for stage 2?

Nah it all goes to first stage until thats full. but you will get double

Are those of you doing mto, do you really suck at showdown? I beat 2nd inning superior but cant even get to 2nd boss showdown on most others. Even new ones on veteran level I I'm doing horrible.

My timing with directional fouls everything off, and I just have no patience with zone. They throw in my spot and I just move pci out of the way.

Online is so much easier... Should I give up on showdown and go full on mto?

Really they're two different modes so it depends on what you want.

Stage 2 Showdown is an excellent source of stubs and XP. It's also fun for what it is and enjoyable to grind. But you cannot use the Stage 2 vouchers unless you have a team's first stage done already. So there is somewhat of a high floor.

MtO is super grindy and kinda slow. Takes 6+ hours to finish the regular season. You can get a bigger chunk of TA points doing this now so if you want to utilize Stage 2 vouchers this is your best bet.

Really, it depends on what you want to do. I've been doing Showdown for the profitable grind. Now I'm looking at doing some MtO on AS or lower just to mindlessly grind them for Affinity but I know how much of a slog it is.

Showdown is more fun. MtO is bleh

I beat the first and 2nd conquest boards but thst Jackie Robinson one... That's a grind, pretty boring.

The new Stage 2 Affinity Showdowns are much easier than every other one they've put out. You can earn stubs and up to 17k or so by completing them. They're all on Veteran and you get a free silver pack and show pack along the way.

I won about 50% of Stage 1 Showdowns, probably 80+ % of the new ones...but they are always interesting. I have lost to Mariano Rivera in a brutal stage 1 flop, and beaten final bosses when I went in with only 5 runs....always an adventure. ( MTO is a beat down to me)..

I’m going to start doing two or three of these a day. I know I won’t win them, but if I can just get through to the end and collect around 8 to 11k stubs that will help me finish out the last few diamonds I need (minus Trout lol). Will at least help me finish the NL and get Sheffield.

Edit. I’m tired. Lol. I was thinking stubs and it’s XP. Never mind. Bah.

Well since they patched the SB exploit it will be harder to win Showdowns now. Sucks.

The first ones will be but the second ones are still super easy if you do all the moments leading up

Oh yeah Stage 2 is not the issue. Getting TA points to 70 so you can get to Stage 2 is. Especially with no MTO double points now.


It also helped on certain blue missions where a game is tied and I have a runner on base. Steal to get to 3rd, sac fly, mission over (ie against Wagner or Britton).

Whatever it shows on the MTO screen is correct within the TA menu. You just no longer get double.
