Haven't attempted one in a couple weeks until last night decided to give the AL East a go. The CPU had several blunders on double play balls and every ball the dove for in the outfield got away. I wasn't using any of the perks that cause more errors either.

Not complaining I'll absolutely take it as someone whose struggled with stage 1.
Doing the AL East now. Getting through them pretty easily. I’ve only lost to Sale once but was tied 3-3. I do have trouble with the Chapman mission but I don’t have much trouble with Cole. Think I need 4 more to complete the division. Then the NL East will be next.

Wanted to do some RS tonight but got home late from work so finished up an AL Central showdown I had previously started. I still don't know if they tweaked the bosses or I've just gotten a little better. Lol Facing Boyd instead of Kopech certainly helped.

These things are so random... I won about 5 of these in a row than cruised into the AL stage showdown 15-11 against Dunning of White Sox, no way I don’t easily win this one too..... but THREE robbed home runs, and twice doubled off first on rocket line drives at the first basemen that he snags and tags the runner before he can dive back to bag, and I lose 15-15.....just knee half way in that I wasn’t going to be allowed to win this one....

Yeah sometimes I can blow the final boss out of the water or flat out can’t get anything going and lose. But mostly it’s these roller coaster games where I jump on the board early and I think I’ll beat him easily. But then hit a dry spell and doubt starts to creep in that I might not make it. Then the bats wake up again and finish it off. They are usually stressful enough where I don’t really play them back to back. I like to do something else in-between play throughs. That’s why it takes me so long to complete. But I’m on the NL East and also Dbacks/Giants left.

I beat al central showdown so thought maybe I don't suck anymore.

Spent like 3 hours on 1st inning and I just can't do it. Got to final boss once 15-10, and managed 3 hits and 1 run. I've been destroying cpu on all star there is no way this is all star....

I lost to 2nd boss Grienke twice. Couldn't manage anything. Then I got oberg and got my 5 runs or so with 5 of 10 outs

I've been al stage 2, 2nd inning, and al central. I must've tried this 1st inning the most and can't get through it

Lost an NL East showdown down 15-5. Didn’t barrel anything up. Wanted to get the bad taste out of my mouth so I immediately went straight to DeGrom after the next draft. Crappy draft/perks and down 0-15. Of course I win 18-15 with 16 outs remaining. Roller coaster this mode. Any way, just need one more win to finish the division then on to the NL West.

I been doing al central all day. I just got Walter Johnson as 2nd boss two times in a row. Couldn't do anything first game having gone 100% on moments. This time I didn't care about moments and rushed thru but beat Johnson fairly easy with 10 outs left..... This after having 2 on and attempting a double steal and getting another guy out carelessly cause I was annoyed.

I hate these old legends with their 10 minute windups, it's the worst. This time, once I got him in the stretch I tried to leave him there. He still does something distracting with his elbow in the stretch too

Can someone tell me SDS's logic on this one other than to just troll the player?

I was doing the 4th inning Showdown. I had just beaten the final non-boss Moment and was ready to head in to the final showdown. First though, I get a diamond card reward to add to my showdown squad. Great I could use another hitter!

The game gives me a choice between four diamond Starting Pitchers? What the hell? I am going into the final moment. There are no more opportunities to even use the reward I just earned in the final showdown.

                  Kind of ridiculous!

15-15 with 5 outs left on my first try and notta. Game over.

Anybody notice more just early/lates lately? Ive had so many recently. Also had 12 good swings that completely missed the ball during the showdown run.

Beat 4th inning Felix going in 15-9....tried to be very patient bc I usually swing at everything. I worked 100 total pitches and won it with 7 outs left and didn't even hit a bomb. Took 4 walks

I definetly noticed as his energy and confidence went down he was throwing alot more balls and usually when he did throw a strike it was belt high and middle

I usually want to get this done but there must be something to the patient approach

It was not that bad. I started out Awful losing most of the missions leading up to the first boss. There are some pitching moments though that seems to be easy for me to complete. So I went in about 6 runs down.

Felix handcuffed me for like the first 8 outs. He has some nasty breaking stuff. He will walk some batters though and as I got more patient he actually walked in two runs.

The individual moments were pretty easy, Archer was very able to be hit. Didn't even take a 4th inning boss in the first round, it gave me the option for Nolan Jones, so took him. The last 2 moments yielded postseason Griffey, and PotM Eric Thames . Went into boss down 3 runs, finished with 16 left.

Doesn't anyone else find Nelson Cruz to be absolute garbage in al central?

Moncada, grandal, abreu, encarnacion, Jimenez, and Donaldson I get almost every time... All find. I'm 0 for 272 with Nelson Cruz

                                Re: Showdown Thread

God I hate pitching missions. Most of the time they are just easy wins, but you have zero control over it. IT's more the issue with pitching in general, so you can just throw a perfect curveball and the computer decides to hang it and crush it for a homer and that's it, you've lost. Nothing you can do about it, why even bother

EDIT very next mission, pitch an inning without giving up a hit. 2 easy outs, then Kyle Seager is incredibly late on sinker a foot below the zone, rolls down the third base line past the shift. Tough luck, you lose again. So bad, so so bad

EDIT Annnnd again. Final mission, don't blow a save. Chipper takes a curveball that was aimed to pretty much bounce, perfect release deep so the save is blown. So a total of 6 extra runs I will need because I lost 3 pitching moments on either perfect release pitches that went down the middle and got hit for homers, or a pitch a foot below the zone being squeezed perfectly down the line. Sometimes it seems the game just doesn't want you to win and will do whatever it takes to make it happen.

About as enjoyable and rewarding as being hit with a brick.
