I'm really enjoyed TA2. Love the extreme stuff - completed showdown and a few of the moments, and then did the 30K exchange for 3 divisions to get Chili Davis, Jasson Dominguez, and Joe Torre. All 3 have great swings and will be a lot of fun in events. It's awesome being 30% complete on most of them 1 night in, although I'm not sure I love the voucher thing for conquest.

Ranked was awesome for me. I went 12-4, which is the worst record I've ever had but I completed the program for the first time ever and got Randy. Amazing games, lots of 1 run games including a walkoff from Albies (my other best hitter), and the losses were all to teams that were about .500. Frustrating, but it feels like you can lose to just about anyone this year.

As for the grind, I've been sitting at 100K forever. There's really no way to make money. Last year, you grinded a little faster, sold your winnings through the main program, and then bought them back later at a savings if you really wanted the card. This year, I don't feel like that option is available at all. Grinding ranked, ironically, is probably the best money maker and that's not an easy thing. I don't think I'm ever going to finish the Live Series collection, and maybe that's ok since getting Rollins, Brett, etc. is clearly more impactful to your lineup. Buying up all those 3-5K cards that are now free packs in TA2 will help, but as for live and wealth building ... ??

Funny how we seem to be polar opposites here. I’m a 2nd year, offline-only DD player.

Between RTTS and the long, slow grind of flipping equipment, I’m doing ok on grinding stubs to buy pack-locked, event, and BR cards. Although buying Holliday for 30k just before his value went down to like 6k yesterday did hurt my heart…

I really enjoyed TA C1, particularly the achievable, repeatable missions for a low-skill player like myself. I’m not happy about the C2 setup of Extreme moments only, have been selling dupe cards so I can’t exchange for TA progress, and I avoid showdowns like the stub-killing plague that they usually are for me. Even the AS-level offline mission is rough, as SBs at that level with these card options are hard to come by. I’ll have to just try to bunt cheese in a VS CPU game against a team with a bad catcher, I guess. On the plus side, the PXP for using C1 bosses is nice.

It definitely seems like SDS wants to really grind down the offline players and force them to go online. The emphasis on progress in various programs being so much better online, combined with a slower overall season XP path are what give me that impression.

Yeah I still don't have a clue about live series or s1 collection. Babe and Pedro are cute so that's nice

I haven't even unlocked John Franco yet so I feel like if I do get the collector pack there is no way I'll get all three and at that point how much time is left for me to use them... I also assume prices all go up at end of season 1

The xp path in at like the 2nd Pitchers captain or so... Maybe 300k?

So yeah, feels like whenever I get near those good cards if at all it will be way deep into season 1 just in time to have my super good cards all sniped from me for season 2

With that said I'm still using Buxton so was happy to add jdom

Beat the Extreme Showdown early this morning - was actually kind of fun being on the higher difficulty levels during one of those. Helps me focus more.

Dibble's actually not too bad if you can work the pitch count up to get him tired - he only has 30 stamina and will probably hit zero energy around 5-7 outs left if you've been seeing a decent number of pitches per at-bat. Plus if you've done every showdown up to that point you only need to get 2 runs off of him. I was actually more worried about Jansen in the middle of the run - only need 1 run, but starts with bases empty and 9 outs. Not easy to get hits off him.

20k XP to EVERY TA2 affinity program is worth the time if you're up to the challenge.

Also I agree with Sam - Busch rakes. I got plenty acquainted with him in that Extreme moment and he has some really good opposite field power - which he kind of needs because his tendency is Balanced. He was my first affinity boss pickup.

I'm not sure where I'll start, maybe events.

I started the the USA map last weekend and have pecked away at it all week and nearly have it finished so that's what I'll be concentrating on the next few days before moving on to TA 2

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

I finished the classic mini seasons with a primarily al east team so I'm like 60% done with TA al east and not much on the rest. Finished that saturday and the ronel blanco program during ufc 300

sunday can't play but will probably just do events on Monday morning and see how far it gets me.

I don't have a team I feel eager to run into ranked with but I'm happy with content and there simply being plenty of stuff to do at the moment. Since I run the buxton boost I feel like a lot of these cards don't really fit my team....Seems like attribute wise the buxton boost still turns a lot of these cards into better than 93's.

With the mini seasons I only got 1 diamond out of all that stuff...a edwin diaz

Well i finished the TA conquest during UFC and man was that a waste i dont like it just being vouchers now , it just didnt seem worth it to me .. i hopped in some events and finished the NL Central so im going to switch my lineup and work on the Al central now i think or the Al east but once i get to 20 wins ill probably jump into BR or ranked not really sure which ,

I'm curious is to if we will get any other cards along with jackie today in his program

I've barely been able to play since my vacation around launch. Way behind in the Season path and basically everything. Didn't have time to play Ranked or BR so didn't even begin the programs. Nothing with Events. Finished 1 Mini Seasons run.

Knocked out a couple things and just opened the packs from the Phillies Conquest map. First time pulling Trout since 19 or maybe 20. Sold him instantly because with the Vault packs and all the weirdness didn't want to lose out on Stubs even though he'll almost certainly get upgraded with the attribute update.

Few games left on the USA map but got bored with it and hopped into events. Knocked out 6 or 7 games and already got to first pack in AL East for TA 2. Took Heston Kerstad, can't wait to use him. Hopefully he mashes like he did at Arkansas. Nuts how much talent the O's have and still have on the way.
Events definitely seems to be the way to for TA 2 with all the online missions

I got to like 36% in the NL East just from finishing the season awards stuff and Jackie conquest. I couldn't believe it when I got the first boss pack but I guess it shouldn't be surprising with my team build

I think I'm just gonna jump into Ranked. That team Affinity cq map doesn't have packs right? So less value in doing it and I'm not sure what else there is to do since I'm healthy on Stubs. I just don't have a ton of time so have stayed away because games can take 35 to 45 minutes and that will be a huge chunk of my playing time.

But I guess that's the point of the mode

Got 100% on ALE TA, thanks to TA Conquest plus the Jackie Program. Working through my first TA MS now that the vouchers are valid again.

I’m always torn on which difficulty level to play on in a MS run, after I’ve finished any difficulty based challenges up to AS level. I hit better on AS most of the time, but pitch better on Rookie and have some risk of losing on AS. So I usually end up going back and forth. The TA AS mission being SBs makes it tricky, also. Much easier to steal on Rookie than AS, unless I get lucky and Piazza is the opposing catcher.

I finished the Jackie Program and am 1 Hr with Topps now to finish the awards drop 3 . i am at 100% on the NLC and at like 75% on the ALC ..i love the Noah Schultz card along with the CF from the Twins, and with the 3rd pack i took Kwan and in my first 4 event games hes been great , hit a bomb off of Randy and im loving the Defense in LF. I'm close to the pack in the NL West so thatll be the next division i go after in the event grind .Once i get 20 wins i think ill start BR although i think id rather have that Degrom so i may go to Ranked instead .

I've run 7 mini seasons overall, last 3 have been TA ones. Always solid 65 plus packs total you get that I hold onto until it's all over. Basically play 21 games, rinse and repeat (including post season).

TA 1 Chapter 2 all complete, super easy, even easier than the prior one IMO.

Time to get 20 wins in events (8 currently). Tough to get back into it after a few days off bc of offline grind etc. I think papadell laid one on me late last night lol. GG if that was actually you!

Then into finishing the BR/Ranked Programs.

Pumped we should be getting a Season Awards Pete Alonso this week with him winning player of the week.
