There are a lot of things that could be improved from MLB 08...

      1. Dynamic lighting; shadows creeping in

      2. Weather; moving clouds, rain, dome stadiums open and close

      3. More fluid pitching animations; everything looks a little herky-jerky, with short-arm throws.

      4. more real-life batting stances; a lot of guys are way off;

      5. more real-life pitching deliveries.

      6. more variety of throws in the field.. ie; side-arm throws and such

      7. collision detection

      8. better response times with fielders throwing the ball.. 08 they take their time and runners end up safe a lot.

      9. more player accessories; sunglasses, etc.

ppl seem to luv different batting views, from offset, catcher to wide.
          i'm using offset personally.

my suggestion is 1st person view~!!! FPV.
yes, it didn't work in NFL 2K5, but it might be interesting in a baseball game, especially if it's just one of the options.
sorta like offset, higher and to the side.
seems like it'll work pretty good when pitching too. at the least, i'd like a closer view in the pitching view, where the batting zone is a lot more zoomed in.

I really hope they revamp Wrigley Field. The ivy isn't dark enough, the knothole in RF is not there, they have actual seats beyond the outfield instead of bleachers, the CF batters' eye lounge doesn't look right, the OF seats and the batters' eye is too dark, the mezzanine suites extend too far towards the ground from the upper deck, and I really wish the EL train would actually move periodically instead of just sitting there beyond right-center.

I might post some reference photos later to explain what I mean.

              i
              love
              this
              game

recent convert from another baseball game...and I am just floored with this game! So I first just want to congratulate these guys for creating this, and mostly for connecting with your audience and actually HEARING us! Thank you!

As an MVP modder who has created faces, jerseys, uniforms and more, I have SOME idea what goes into this process, and have a lot of respect for what you guys are doing. My wishlist items are small, "picky" things that to me would just make this game as perfect as possible...

              1. Dynamic weather, and day-night progression. As most people on here have listed, I think this is tops. It would just add that extra touch of realism and bring the outside element of baseball right into the game.

              2. Small additions to the player edit (which you have exploded with the face feature!!! Its amazing to be able to create life-like faces of rookies and minor league guys)....eye black, glasses, shades, more accessories and glove color options.

              3. One thing that tends to take me out of the allusion that I am watching a real game is the player models. At times they are so life-like...and others, the boxy shoulders and short arms/tiny legs reminds me I am playing a video game. Small adjustments here would just be SO welcome!

              4. Along with the player models, the overall colors (particularly in some ballparks) tends to be very "toy-like". Everything looks very polished, plasticy, and too clean. Walls, grass, ads, even the dirt tends to not have a worn, weathered, real look. I usually lower my TV's saturation almost completely to desaturate things and make them look a bit more real. Perhaps adding lighting effects from the day-night progression/weather would help here.

At the least, field dirt should be much darker (a lot of fields in real life are almost a clay color)...this would also help with being able to see the ball in play)

              5. Having numbers along with the bars for editing players (particularly pitch speeds) would be a huge help

and one thing that I dont think I have ever read on a wishlist forum....One thing I love to consider in baseball in both MLB players and baseball prospects, is player personalities. Its SUCH a huge thing in building a team and evaluating talent. Its one thing to have a player who has all the tools, but has a five cent head. That five cent head has never been reproduced in a baseball video game...yet effects everything. It effects the chemistry of your clubhouse, it effects how they react to situations, it effects how they will ultimately perform as a big leaguer.

I imagine it being some sort of series of ratings for various "personality" traits for each player. These ratings would effect the way they would respond to an umpires "iffy" third strike call....maybe they are more likely to be ejected from a game or go off! Maybe they take it into their next at bat and press too hard or make an error in the field. Maybe its the kind of thing (like a slump) that builds and builds over a season. With this kind of player, you know that benching him for a game, or sending him to the minors may set him off completely. I like the thought of having to manage personalities, not just stats. Also, I would imagine that putting a team together would be a matter of matching these players "personality ratings" to create the best chemistry.

Maybe Elijah Dukes would start to pull down a certain teams chemistry (and his own ratings)....but teamed up with someone like Jeter or another solid veteran type of influence, he levels out a bit (helping both his production and the teams ability)

This would also be played out in unique animations in the game. On called strike threes, low-level-reactive types would walk back to the dugout (and not take a hit to their confidence)...but players who are more reactive might respond or argue, possibly effecting their abilities. Adding to the realism of the game would be the need to manage players based on what you think they can handle emotionally!

You would have to make trades, sign free agents, call up rookies, and make roster moves with MUCH more thought and care in order to get the best out of each player.

Thank you again....for listening, taking our thoughts, and producing the best game of baseball.

I don't know if it has been mentioned before, but I would really like to see Career Mode brought back. I like RTTS, but I really want to play with the entire team instead of just my player. I know some people would probably say why don't you just create a player and use him in franchise mode, but in career mode you are only responsible for playing the game and not all the outside front office moves etc. So you could be traded with out any say and I like that kind of realism.

                  1. Can we get a sticky on this?
                  2. Pitcher speed and break in mph and inches instead of clicks.
                  3. Home and away rating. Some players do great at home and horrid on the road. I would like a rating to represent that.
                  4. Single A teams
                  5. September Callup
                  6. Ability to play every teams games in season and franchise mode
                  7. Highlight reels for each game
                  8. Highlights for gold glove candidates.
                  9. Uneven trades
                  10. Rainouts and double headers and a weather control feature so that cpu roster control guys can select days that a rainout happens so that it can mirror real life.

Re: The Extremely Early Wish List Thread

40 Man roster along with AAA and AA affliates
                    New Gold Glove Awarding System
Ability to put players on the DL whenever you feel like it(for CPU Roster Control Mode)
Roster Depth(Waivers, DFA's, Rule V, able to trade for cash or PTBN, uneven trades, september callups)
Make CPUteams have better trade and signing AI in Franchise Mode
Make A trade value attribute for every player that way prospects, and all-starts garner bigger trades
Free Agent Market rating for every TEAM
Make players have agents that you have to negotiate with

                    Better Fielding Animations
                    Time Transition
                    Weather Affects
In game ticker/monthly recap show to show who's hot & who's not

Not all of these things need to be in, but I think all of them would add so much more value to this game, that already has alot of it.
Don't mess with batting and pitching though, they are near perfect imobest it can get.

I'd like to see more throw back uniforms (as I've mentioned) and more classic stadiums (specifically Ebbets Field and Old Comiskey).

September call ups would be nice.

Stirrups as an option for pants style.

The ability to choose your own jersey in franchise mode.

Also on the PS2 version (I'm saving up to get PS3) the park is ALWAYS full regardless of how the team is playing. That shouldn't be!
