I originally bought the 06 version after reading great reviews about it. I was not satisified with 2k's effort. Playing that game till six in the morning made me happy I was still in college.

I bought the ps3 just to play 07. I refused to think that i would have a sub par baseball game year. I took the plunge and basically the only reason i still have the ps3 is for blu ray and the show.

I don't regret this at all.

I already owned a PS3, but had very few titles to play; I mostly light up my 360. A pal of mine kept going on and on about The Show 08, so I purchased it. Man, what a tremendously solid baseball game. I can't wait 'til March 3rd.

Simply put I love baseball, and this game since 2006 has been one of the best franchises out there. Every year the game gets better.

Still play MVP on the pc with mods...best pc baseball game ever. Stopped playing it on the Xbox since most mods could not be accomodated and the game started to get stale - no new uniforms, no new rosters, etc.

Switched to MLB07 since love sitting on my couch and gaming on my 52 inch LCD. The graphics and solid gameplay have had me playing MVP pc less and less. But I do fire it up now and then...for classic mods and historical seasons. Can't be beat for that.

In answer to the original thread question...

Because it is by far and away the best representation of the sport of Baseball on the market today.

I was a 2K7 player, didnt really know about The Show, saw a demo for 08 and that was it, PS3 was bought, Show imported, end of story really.

As a European baseball fan with a 360 I had no chance of playing either game. Then I got a PS3 mainly for baseball and found MLB 07 from a small gameshop, haven't looked back since.

Yeah, I still can't believe that SCEA never acknowledged that there was a problem and that a solution wasn't offered. I suppose fixing PS2 games at that point was alot more complicated than it would be to patch a PS3 game. But I do remember the devs saying that their copies weren't freezing. Interesting.

basically heard about how great of a baseball game it was. so i started with 07 and then when i had heard about 08 coming out. i just had to get a ps3 i couldnt pass up on it. Ever since then been amazing, bring on 09

My progression is similar to many others. Played and loved ASB 2004, 2005 (as you can see in my user name). Then I went on to the MVP series, and when that folded I picked up MLB 07 on the PS2. Played the heck out of it, and when I got my PS3 I double dipped and picked up 07 again on the PS3. Now I am a show follower and proud of it.

I picked up MLB The Show 06 for the PS2 without any expectations. I hadn't seen much on the game but the visuals looked good so I thought I would give it a try.

I can say that I was more than impressed with the graphics and the animations were incredible. It wasn't perfect but the game was what games are supposed to be...FUN!!

I held off on The Show 07 due to reviews and seeing the game played at a local retailer. However, when The Show 08 announcement came with all of the details, screenshots, etc., I knew it was a must buy. I actually purchased a PS3 just for The Show.

I enjoyed MLB 2K7 a ton but last year the race wasn't close...From what I have read and from playing the demo, The Show 09 is going to be a day one purchase....

I played ASB 2004 (like everyone else it seems), and then MVP '04 the next year. Then I also took the jump on '06 with the WSOD and everything. I made it through one RTTS season, and then when the game froze four times in five games I was like **** it and bought MVP '05.

Ever since then I've just bought this game, and I've been entertained.
