I played the show in 06 and loved it but hadn't got a PS3 yet...I got 2K7 because I had liked some of the past games but after 06' and that 2K game I was weary but 07' had Jeter on the cover and I thought I'd give it one more chance. The very first pitch I hit a homer out with Johnny Damon. My mind was made up right at that moment to try the show 06' and now that I finally got a PS3 I will be able to fulfill the desire to play the Show for extended periods of time on a next-gen system. The Show is the way to go especially now that I can put who ever I want on the cover!

Re: why did you make the jump to the show?
I was lucky enough to get a PS3 for Valentines Day this year. So I won't call it a jump to the show. This year im looking foward to playing 2K9 on the 360 and The Show 09 the PS3.Comment

Re: why did you make the jump to the show?
HH01 was the **** for the longest time. The ability to edit all the rosters and stats on your pc by using a piece of software and a save file was AMAZING! After that I was switching between the sony mlb series and the very arcady MVP series...Comment

Re: why did you make the jump to the show?
I had really fell out with baseball up until last year when I randomly downloaded MLB 08 The Show demo when I was bored and just had to get it after that.
I live in England so I had to import it and paid about £60(Which is about $120)and it was worth every penny.
It really re-ignited my love for baseball and I keep making this point that the sports leagues should realise its 2009 and video games are a big part of society and that if they give the licence to teams/companies with a real passion to make a great game about a sport they love then it can only help the league.
In the end it'll will help to keep said sport relevant with a younger crowd and thus increase revenue.
Big picture and all.
I'm talking to you Stern & Goddell.Comment

Re: why did you make the jump to the show?
After the High Heat series was killed off after 2004 I was looking for a new baseball game. I bought MLB 2005 when it came out in 2004 and thought it played good. It has gotten better with each season.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Re: why did you make the jump to the show?
The first Baseball video game I ever played was Triple Play 96, that game was fun. I didn't play another game until High Heat 99 and stuck with that series until 2003. Although High Heat probably didn't have the greatest graphics on the market it did have everything else a baseball micro manager could want.
I wouldn't play another baseball video game until 2007 (never tried MVP) when I decided to compare both MLB 2k7 and MLB 07 The show on my PS2. Weird thing was I didn't even try Road to the Show mode on MLB 07 but I liked the gameplay better than 2k7 and played my franchise on 07 The Show.
Last year I was debating between getting a X-Box 360 and PS3 with anticipation of getting Grand Theft Auto 4. The Choice was made easy once I realized that the 360 had no chance what so ever of seeing MLB 08 The Show. Picked up the PS3 and I couldn't be happier. I also finnally tried Road to the Show and was hooked, I couldn't put down the controller, I was tottally and utterly consumed nay engulfed with entertainment and fun.
MLB 09 The Show finally brings to the table what I loved about the High Heat Series with 40 man rosters, June draft, Rule 5 Draft, Free agent types, etc.
With the new lighting effects and improved fielding AI, an excellent Road to the Show (be a pro) mode, I do believe this will be the greatest Baseball video game ever made. Dare I say the greatest sports video game ever made?
A big thanks to the creaters and developers of this game, it's a great one.

Re: why did you make the jump to the show?
It was the year of MVP 2005 (which I loved). I only owned an Xbox at the time but had both MVP and 2K5, mainly because I thought 2K presentation was awesome. Well, I went to Gamestop one day and they had MLB 2006 playing, so I hopped on it for a minute, and I just remember thinking "Holy ****, I have to have this!" What really sold me was just how crazy smooth the animations were.
A few weeks later I bought a PS2 and my first SCEA MLB titleComment

Re: why did you make the jump to the show?
I'm making the jump this year after years of playing MVP Baseball 2005 (and MVP NCAA 2006). It's not that I'm tired with MVP... I still play my Reds dynasty to this day. But I was going to upgrade to the "next generation" of console gaming anyway. After doing a lot of research, I decided PS3 over XBOX 360. And since I'm a pretty big sports gamer, the MLB The Show series was a big selling point in getting the PS3. I've heard only good things about it and wanted to see it for myself. Playing through the 08 and 09 demos, I have not been disappointed! I'm extremely excited, as everyone around here is, for the official release of MLB 09 The Show.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: why did you make the jump to the show?
I made the jump from word of mouth. Loved playing 2k7, but it was missing the franchise depth. People told me if i like just coaching a game ala "Managing Mode", the Show is the way to go.
So far its been a blast. I'm 7-2 with the Washington Nationals. I keep all sliders on default.Comment

Re: why did you make the jump to the show?
A buddy from another website I used to regularly be on....told me to check out the game quite a few years ago.
I've been playing since the 989 days....the change is nothing short of amazing!
