Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

I don't think I've posted about my RTTS here.

I'll just do a little abstract, I went and did the spring training thing, but I never included it in my RTTS file since it doesn't mesh well with my career story. Anyways, I think I got drafted by the best team for a right fielder. The Royals had no qualms with batting me cleanup during Spring Training and I came away with surprisingly good numbers, too good I think (above .300, 4 homers, 20 RBIs).

Anyways, I started my career story with just being one year removed from the draft and already in AA, I played only six games, which apparently was enough to convince the Royals to promote me to AAA! (Actually, they have no Right Field depth behind Jose Guillen and their starting RF'er in AAA Omaha got injured). I got off to a hot start all thanks to a bunch of top pitching prospects from other teams like Neftali Feliz slinging fastballs. My average has slowly dipped from .600 to .500 to .400 and now it's below .400. It's hard to keep the batting average up.

Anyways, I'm approaching the end of June in my first season, playing in a formidable lineup that features Mike Moustakas, Alex Gordon, and Ryan Shealy.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

I just started playing RTTS in this years version for the past few weeks, the baserunning controls are pretty dumb, it should be standard right being forward and left being back, but instead they change the camera angles along with the controls at the sametime?

Biggest gripe though is through earning points, it can feel like pulling teeth,

Fact: Most players attributes dont decline until the age of 32, if youre ranked with high potential (like every player is u make) youre attributes should rarely if ever go down when youre young. obviously its hard to find a balance, but its just unrealistic esepcially in certain catagories, IE Speed, Power & Fielding.
the progressions is slow, injuries should be an option along with decreasing points that alone would make a better experience.
Also for Fielding if it were first person camera that would be unbelieveable perhaps for baserunning also with a tiny window showing where the ball is in the corner

just some thoughts... oh and training like baserunning and cages need to be optional once a day and NOT effect your energy rating

In my 1st year as a SP, the starting 2B made an awsome total of 39 errors!!!

And i'm pretty sure he made half of them when i was pitching.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

Well, I finally won a World Series in my RTTS!!!

I have a right fielder on the Baltimore Orioles, and we finally did it on the last year of my contract before free agency in 2016. I had been with the Orioles since 2011, and as you can imagine, a lot of the seasons were painful up until this one. But what a way to end my career with the Orioles. I never thought I'd even get to a postseason playing on the Orioles, but they did, and we beat the Los Angeles Angels in the ALDS, the Cleveland Indians, in the ALCS, and the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series in seven games!

But here's the best part. I hit 3 home runs in Game 7 and had 6 RBIs! A solo shot, a 2-run shot, and a 3-run shot. We won Game 7 by the score of 9-5. It was definitely a tough series all things considered. The Cardinals had a good team, and a great 1-2-3 punch at the top of the order in David Wright, Matt Holliday, and Albert Pujols. I had a good 6-year run with the Orioles, though. Some pretty nice numbers and all. I was originally drafted by the Red Sox in 2009, traded to the Pirates in 2010, and then traded to the Orioles in 2011. I spent the first half of 2011 with the Pirates before being traded to the Orioles.

Before I get to some of my stats, here's a list of some of my career achievements I've received over the 6 years I've been in the MLB so far.

thats a great post philliesfan. i like your achievements and stats, they seem quite realistic to me. i was wondering what other key players were on your world series team? was weiters still there (if he was in your roster set)? keep up the good work, i hope you will let us know how your free agency goes - what kind of offers you get and from who, and of course, who you chose.

anyone else have some long term stats to show?

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

I've just finished my first season in AA as a SP for the Senators (the AA team of the Nationals)
I was promoted SP after 2 months.
I recorded 10 wins for 3 losses and had a 2.03 ERA, 0.980 WHIP and 99 K's in 142 innings and I achieved all of my goals.

We made the post season in AA (we clinched the wild card) and won the title!! (i won the game 5 of the first round)

So i was promoted to AAA. However i was not invited to spring training.
Moreover i was extremely surprised to see 2 other AA-SP promoted to...
the bullpen of the Nats!!!!!!! (whereas i got better stats than them!!!)

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

I started a RTTS with my favorite team, Cubs.

The lovable losers traded me to Arizona in my second season while I was in AAA to Arizona. 2 games in AAA and Jordan Parker got hurt, so they actually called me up to the Major League roster in only my second year in August (didn't think that was even possible).

3 games so far and have a sub 2 E.R.A. in the majors. One of the games was against the Marlins. Guess they went Big market, there lineup read as:

                        H.Ramirez
                        J.Baker
                        M.Ramirez
                        D.Uggla
                        C.Ross
                        J.Cantu
                        A.Beltre
                        J.Hermida
                        Pitcher

Kind of weird how I got traded to AZ because I built my guys pitch selection exactly like Dan Haren, (2SFB, SLUR, CUT, SPL), except I replaced the SPL with FORK heh. Guess he is supposed to tutor me

2nd season in the bigs, just past the all star break with my SP for the Pirates.
7-6 record with a 2.92 ERA 98 K's BAA of .286 them are all the stats I remember off the top of my head. I am currently on the trading block with the interested teams being the yanks, rays, and met's I am currently the ace of the staff but I get no run support to speak of, that's why I'm looking for a trade.
