LOL, but that is also a testament that this is "The Most Realistic Baseball Game Ever" He will definitely give up a lead in the game, just as in real life (of course when he's not playing Guitar Hero)

Edit: I did think that there was little differences between difficulties sometimes, but that's not related to the comeback thing.

When Joel Zumaya has been healthy his numbers are actually pretty good. He can be dominant. Sorry to go off topic but as a Tiger's fan as well to say the guy isn't a good pitcher really isn't accurate.

And as far as the comeback code I too am not seeing it.

And I am playing all in exhibition games and not seeing this since I am waiting on Franchise for rosters as well.

I am telling you all, the game plays you hard throughout, and you are just used to solid starting pitching and not changing patterns or play styles with relievers.

08 was extremely anemic when it came to cpu offense. Everyone complained that they won too many games and there was no challenge. This year the cpu offense is sharp and it requires thought to pull off a string of wins. Next year if they tone it down back the other way the game will be too easy again. It will be a vicious cycle that will never end.

If people want to will them self into believing there is comeback AI so be it. I am done with the explanations.

I am completley on the fence here. A lot of people are talking about it and a lot aren't. There is no concrete way of saying yes absolutley it's there or absolutley it's not. I know Russell said it's not but how do they really test something like this and know if there isn't a glitch in this department. How could you possibly come to a diagnosis in this problem. It's really a matter of opinion unless the dev's have some tool or something that they use that can find bugs in the system. I highly doubt that.

Anyways....I respect everybodys opinion here and a lot are seeing this comeback. I will say that I do see it as well but I look at like it's my fault for messing up a pitch, etc. I will say that I have come back from the CPU plenty of times. I don't know if it's comeback code for me or if it's my skill but I haven't played that many games so far and I have seen some pretty good comebacks and usually some pretty exciting games. I haven't really seen any blowouts that were boring. Seems like every game was exciting so far and close in score.

Still on the fence and probably always will be about this topic. Bottom line is there is just no way of proving or disproving it. Unless Russell explains how he knows there is no comeback ai in the game. I would like to know how you can come to a conclusion about it. How can you 100% positively say that it's not in the game. How do you test it??

Then again we could all be used to a much easier game. More of an arcade game where you can win pretty easily. Now we have a WHOLE NEW BALLGAME literally. Where you have to strategize and NEVER let up. I remember learning this just from watching games. I would watch the Red Sox go up by 4 runs in the 5th inning against say the Blue Jays. I would be thinking nice they should probably win. They would have the bases loaded with 1 out and ground into a dp and I would be like "ahh no big deal they got the 4 runs" and take for granted the runs that they got. I learned that in baseball it doesn't work like that. I should of been happy they scored but still disapointed that they didn't get more runs in such a great scoring opportunity. It's a grind, a marathon. It's 100% not a sprint. Each individual game and each individual season is a marathon and of course you have to pitch every single pitch like it's the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs and bases loaded. Well not every but you get what I'm saying. Main point here is you can't lighten up at all on the mound or at the plate just because you have the lead. I think a lot including myself are doing this whether they realize it or not. You can't just skim through all the cutscenes and play as fast as possible. You will lose games doing this. You have to be patient and not rush through any games. The more you concentrate and focus the better you do in this game. If you lose focus you really diminish your chances of winning. It could be that a lot of people (art himself said he won the world series last year with the yankees) could be used to winning and not used to getting blown out or better yet GETTING THE LEAD TAKEN FROM THEM. I surely am not used to that and it's not fun. However, the only thing you can do now is not complain about comeback ai possibly being in the game because it's not going to get you anywhere. Unless of course they realize that it is a glitch where it's always turned on and they patch it but in all seriousness the chances of that happening are slim to none. Just play the game and try "extra" hard when you have a lead so it doesn't happen again.

Secondly there is no secret/hidden comeback code in the game it doesn't exist what makes this even funnier is that me and B MA had a two hour conversation on this very subject two weeks ago at our launch party. He put this option in the game for this very reason. This isn't a matter of opinion in this case if you have the cpu comeback handicap option off the cpu gets no bonuses what so ever in hitting/pitching when they are losing. We have no reason to lie to you about this or anything else.

Even still for the sake of doing so I went into franchise mode played ten games on Legend and the cpu never made any unrealistic 7th, 8th, or 9th inning rallies. Not once and all these games where on Legend difficulty with default slider settings.

Just for the record Russell I know you are apart of the dev team and I completley praise you and every other member of the dev team for coming on here and taking the time (which I'm sure is/has been very limited) to communicate with us. It is beyond appreciated.

I just want you to know that I NEVER EVER thought you (or any member of the dev team) were LYING. I thought that quite possibly there was a glitch in the programming of the game so that with this ai comeback turned off it would still be on. This was brought to my attention by baa7. I haven't seen this option before and now all of a sudden it's there and things are "happening" and being discussed. It's also the first year that the game plays super realistic which is great and probably all this talk is really all bout. I just threw this out there thinking that possibly you were unaware of the chances of this happening or it never crossed your mind. I just never understood and still don't how this can't be a possibility.

umpires make bad calls all the time, and we live with them. And comebacks by teams is what we love in any sport or sports game but why is it such a big deal. Is it because finally the Ai is getting the benifit. So we want things to be harder but when we lose it's a bad game. just doesn't make any sense.

I'm not saying he isn't a good pitcher, especially when he is healthy. I love JZ and the Tigs... I am just making the correlation of his struggles over the last season or so (along with the staff as the whole), and how it is reflected in the game (he is hard as hell to pitch with, for me at least) - as a result most of the comebacks (4) I have had against me were with JZ on the hill.

Disclaimer (somewhat back on-topic): I ended up winning a few of the games still, so I would say there is no comeback code.

I just threw this out there thinking that possibly you were unaware of the chances of this happening or it never crossed your mind. I just never understood and still don't how this can't be a possibility.

If the devs telling you its not there unless turned on doesn't erase any doubt in your mind, nothing will. I think the best thing to do is just play and let the chips fall where they may, otherwise you're going cause yourself a lot of unnecessary grief.

And I tried explaining this to others, in the other thread. Because they accepted what he said, and still believed something was up, and then moved on to dissect "clutch rating". It will be a never ending cycle.

Just enjoy the game. Nothing "corrupt or cheap" is there. The game is just tough, and plays you hard like real baseball.

I APPLAUD the devs for capturing the feel the game so damn well.

Running my test now still. in season mode this time. Im up 10-0 to start goin into 6th inning, still holding at 10-0. Really dont think anything is there. game is just not easy! realy pay anttention, and focus on pitching.
