Re: Someone Please Save This Game For Me
I turned pitcher confidence off and have gotten great results. Been able to actually pitch out of jams! I did a fantasy draft tho soo.. playing on veteran as well and Im 21-9 so far w/ the reds. i play 2gms of a 3gm seres, and 1 of a 2gm series... try turning it off tho, it has helped!Comment

man, chill out...
I was just sayin he shouldnt generelize(imo we shouldnt in life as a rule actually),
from what he said it sounded like everyone that had a problem with it are dumb or dont know **** about baseball, wich aint true.
also, its too simplist to say that everyone having a problem with combacks(not only AI but USER too) are due to lack of baseball knowledge or that theyre just playing on the wrong level...---------------

Re: Someone Please Save This Game For Me
This comeback nonsense is just people that don't know how to play, when to replace their pitchers, etc. How about dropping down a level?
Cracks me up when people complain about how hard it is to hit when they are playing on Legend. I don't play on Legend anymore. The game is just plain harder. Like I said before, swallow your pride, drop a level, and learn how to manage a game and pitch, lol.Comment

Re: Someone Please Save This Game For Me
The majority of people are having great games, agreed?
So, a minority of people are having problems, and if the game works for most, we can eliminate the programming as the source of the problem. I would also say "baseball knowledge" is a minor factor.
Bottom line... it is not "too simplistic" to say that playing on the wrong level and/or with the wrong game settings is the source of most problems..... it is the only logical conclusion one can draw from the above premises.

Re: Someone Please Save This Game For Me
Didn't you complain a lot last year that hitting and the game was too easy (sorry if I am incorrect)?
I just don't see this comeback stuff that many of you are talking about and I play with the Cubs, lol. Well, on second thought, maybe that's why I don't see it with Marmol and Gregg in the 8th and 9th, I don't know. Maybe its your relievers? Maybe many of you fall into pitching patterns that the CPU picks up on? I don't know. I'll try another team since I am open minded, and see what happens. Once again, I respect your opinion, but I just am not personally seeing it.Comment

Simple.
I think that to rotulate the cause of an issue as subjective as this as "simple" is wrong becasue of the fact that diferent people will have difernet experiences, diferent results, diferent issues if broken down.---------------

I haven't been reading your previous posts in the forum about this, so what do you think is the reason why the CPU is coming back on you?Comment

Re: Someone Please Save This Game For Me
113 wins would b great but i doubt it lol.. fantasty draft i did.. i have good starting pitching, good hitting for avg. but lack plower. Zimmerman, and fielder are best 2 power guys. fielder has 6hrs and zim with 5. however Andruw Jones has 4 off rthe bench! exciting season, love the team as a wholeComment

Re: Someone Please Save This Game For Me
1. The programming is bad.
2. The person is playing on the wrong level and/or with the wrong game settings for their ability level and playstyle.
3. Some combination of the two.
.......................
But MOST PEOPLE are not making these complaints, so in my mind, that eliminates options 1 and 3. Leaving option 2.

Re: Someone Please Save This Game For Me
You're right, I am generalizing too much. But, I just don't see it, and I am not that good of a player. But, I do know my abilities (i.e. what level I should be playing), and I do know baseball very well (watched MLB my whole life and played small college baseball (pitched)). Do you really think there is comeback AI, Brunnoce? Russell and SCEA have already stated otherwise, correct
Didn't you complain a lot last year that hitting and the game was too easy (sorry if I am incorrect)?

if we are talking about a code that makes the game automaticly comeback on u , or makes u automaticly comeback on the AI , NO i dont think theres one. Do i think the comeback option is reversed? NO.
all i can say is taht the game is more enjoyable TO ME with the comeback handicap option ON...i have no clue of whats going on under the hood when i play with that, but i must say that i just dont see the results that i shouuld see as the description says(close games)
what i do know is the results i get with it ON, and those results imo are a lot more NATURAL than before. I have all kinds of scores now, when before in my 80+ games playing with the option turned off i would see 100% of the time close scores either with me or the AI making some historical comebacks every single game that one team pulled off on the score board.
I dont know why i see that, or why this is happening...it could be for a million resons such as my playing mechanics or whatever...
so all in all , turning that option on solved my problem as it solve the problem of quite some other fellas... and that does not say that russel or brian are lying or are wrong, not at all, i belive their words, i really do, but i just dont see that on my game experience, and i have to go by that when i play since thats whats really matters in the end....
so, to sum it all, im just saying that the results of this in our game experience are more satisfiying than before, thats all.
about my last post , im sorry if i sounded rude or anything, i know u from here a long time and i know ure a good guy, i just tought it would be cool not to generelize when theres so many kinds of problems related to that.---------------

Re: Someone Please Save This Game For Me
There are three options, logically:

So if SCEA denies comeback A.I. (I believe them)
and the game is programmed well (the rest of the game is pretty solid, plus no one complained about comeback A.I. last year, and I doubt they rehauled their entire A.I. logic),
and it seems to be a vocal minority (which is starting to plant this idea in other people's heads so the they "see" this too),
then it must come down to the player.
Comebacks happen in baseball in either direction. That is the beauty of the game. I have seen some wild games at Wrigley Field, I can tell you that. I will try to keep an open mind, but I just don't see it in my current franchise with the Cubs at All Star level.
