Havent heard much about online yet. Was wondering if anyone knew if we can take Knights rosters online for an online Franchise with our buddies.

Or, can you play with your own rosters if just playing against friends?

Heres to hoping my boy Brandon Phillips got some love this year in the rankings!! Behind Utley and Kinsler, the cat is a beast!!!

There is no online franchise if you are referring to leagues no only the official roster updates can be used this year.

You cannot use custom rosters for online. You can do a fantasy draft or SCEA's Roster.

Thanks Russell for the heads up. I meant online league play, not franchise. My apologies.

In what aspect Jake?...It's pretty much the same as last year except now you will get e-mails from your scout...so you can check on that player and see his evaluations right away....then maybe target a new player.

Yes on the stadiums...Same as last year with the unis/accessories...

I believe this is the same as last year also

          Pre-franchise...no
In franchise....if you have a slot open.
That "grace period" is for trades(lopsided if you have a full compliment already and trade a 1 for 3 let's say)

Maybe Pared played in Progressive. I wanted to get some A.L. games in ....I just never got the chance.

What were/are your impressions of the franchise CPU trades made throughout the season? Did they seem fair? Were there lopsided trades? Did teams try to off load salary if they were out of the race, and did teams try to pick up vets for prospects if they were in the race?
Kolbe and crew are working on the trade logic...still I believe...they were definitely still working on it when I left...so commenting on it would be pretty pointless right now. Once Kolbe told me how much they were working on...I didn't look that closely after that.

How fun was the draft with the new features? Not really a question here, I just want to hear all about it.
The draft is just about the same to tell you the truth. With the addition of the e-mails from your scout....for your own team you will probably be more inclined to get more info than you would have previously...and on more players.

          How about during the offseason?
Again...off season is roughly the same layout....Kolbe did say that the logic in all of the areas of trades/drafting/free agents and movement(waivers etc..) all received a lot of attention. So it's more the "under the hood" stuff than the actual trades/drafts/off season that will be different.

Free agency? Was there a lot of realistic movement (subjective I know)?
Even at the event...the FA part of the off season looked pretty good to me. Yes...there were some of those(Derek Jeter signed with who!!!?) moves....but that's the nature of the beast right now. Kolbe did seem very open to adding some sort of team/player "logic" that would account for team loyalty and playing for a team long term....to cut down on star players(even future fake ones) who play for teams for long periods...from moving around during FA as other player would. Knowing Kolbe....of course it wouldn't be some sort of "lock on" thing where he would NEVER sign anywhere else...just less likely....like the hometown discount.
However.....with 30 team control...I was able to into every teams FA screen and "NUDGE" them into signings....for instance...I saw Jeter on the FA market one time. I had previously seen him sign with another club, so this time I "took over" for the Yankees and offered him a VERY GOOD contract. Gave control back(so they would handle their own FA period..and they did)..A couple of teams made a stab at him, but he re-signed with the Yankees.
As it stands now...you could easily help form the off season without really taking total control of it. This made me VERY happy!

I believe you can already...but they have added more indicators in other spots also...like the pinch hitter and pinch runner screens now show player positions(I was always guessing...does this guy play at this position?)

Also, do the runners always slide back to base on a pickoff throw?
          I don't believe so.

When you hit select for pitcher vs. hitter, it shows runner's speed as well if there is a man on base.

Did anyone get to play RTTS as the catcher at all?
I used it as my position last year and there was a pop up glitch..did that get looked after?
and occasionally Id be put on 1st and I got sucked into an animation where Id make the stretch 10 ft from the bag..any help?

              Thanks

Any impressions on the Catcher mode in RTTS?

Hey Russell, any chance there will be a playstation blog about this "progressive commentary" mentioned in the fact sheet? I know the OS guys said they didn't hear much in regards to new commentary let alone hear anything at all because the room was so loud. So I was just wondering what we could expect in that department this year.

EDIT: Reread the fact sheet and realized the progressive commentary was a "core feature". So i guess my question just becomes, what can we expect commentary-wise this year? Sorry if this had been answered earlier by the way.

I did not see any of the fielders except for the catcher throwing his away. The base runners definitely like to hold onto their helmet when rounding the bases on a homer, lol.

My work schedule isn't very stable these days so I have no time to really dedicate myself to it this year to do all the player/team stuff.
                              Tear it up!

What I'm focusing on in my free time is sliders. Especially if I can get an early copy. I have a "plan" or project to test out the sliders in a more technical way.
Sort of a fun hobby I plan to do....helps with the wait for rosters.
