If you were quick enough you could maneuver through the options. I thought this was due to a faulty controller, but maybe that was how the disc was set up.
It happened at almost every best buy about the start button. So it definitely was a modified copy. And a dev said he didn't know what version BB had, I would think he would know it was final if it was.

But who knows. We will all see Tuesday.

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!

Played another nine innings last night at BB. Red Sox versus Twins at new Target Field. Just a couple of questions and observations.

      * Didn't the SCEA team say they were gonna add in animated signs and other types of animated things tied to certain stadiums?
Like the Citgo sign behind the Green Monster at Fenway Park. I started a quick exhibition after my first game (cuz the store was closing) at Fenway Park during the evening just to see if the sign behind the Green Monster would be animated and lit. I was disappointed as it wasn't animated or lit, and I was sorta surprised as the last word that I read said that they were gonna add these kinds of things for certain stadiums.

      * I thought that during some early vids of The Show ("Broken Bats" I think) Denard Span had his sig stance where he starts with the bat out towards the pitcher, then brings it back around the release of the pitch. This sig stance was in last years game. Well, unfortunately this sig stance isn't there, although he does start with the bat in the back position instead of out towards the pitcher. So technically he still has a sig stance but not the one from last year or from the "Broken Bats" video. Just curious why this is.

      * Do all players hold their helmets rounding the bases on homeruns? I've never noticed but do players in real life do this.

Again, I had another fun and fantastic time playing The Show. Tuesday can't come quick enough!

I noticed something today that was kinda annoying. I play with auto fielding, so because of that I turn off the fielding markers and all of that. Well, for some reason the ball marker shadow and everything still come up on the field when there's a pop up or flyball. Hoping the game at BB isnt a finl build, and little things like this was fixed. If not, it's def not gonna kill the game, but I just like to turn everything off and get all the extra crap off my screen when I play.

Spaan changed his stance from last year.

Also, players touching their helmets is something we are going to have to deal with this year. They said that specific animation fit in with the RTP of watching the player round the bases.

Yes, I turned everything to "off" except strike zone which i leave on. Other than that, everything is set to off, even baserunner windows is off(which wors fine). It's just those options apparently don't work when set to off. It's not a HUGE deal, but is kinda annoying when I want them off, and imo takes away the realism a little bit when they are on.

To be honest, good! How that dude hit the ball withat stance was beyond me. The step was all mis-timed. I think the only thing he had going for him was good hand-eye coordination, otherwise there's no way I could see him hitting the ball consistantly. Later

I played a full version at Best Buy. I had the same plastic covering over the gamepad, but my buttons didnt stick and I had full access to everything and all options. All teams and stadiums were available and I played two games, Yanks at Angels in Anaheim and Phillies at Yankees in Yankee Stadium. I was able to change weather options too. Great game. The new gameplay presentation mode is great.

When you change options from default, you have to hit the X button to save them.

he never actually hit that way in real life. He holds the bat out front but brings it back when the pitcher first starts his delivery. In the game he doesn't bring the bat back until the pitcher releases the ball. So mlb09 had the timing of it wrong.

I made a thread about the neon tomahawk sign possibly being wrong...and I got made fun of for caring about it. I'm glad I am not the only one that cares about the animated signs. And EnegmaNemsis, I am glad the Best Buy version may not be the final one. I wish you would have told me that in my MLB Patch thread I made, instead of making fun of me....oh well that's ok...atleast I know now.

So on every hr the players have the same exact animation? i could have done without the holding of the helmet...thats going to get old real quick...is there an option to have cut scenes w/ RTP? i am thinking no but I thought I would ask...or is there an option for homerun celebrations like last year. I am sure there is away around this issues ther than using the broadcast cam.

It wasn't the fact that you made a thread and "people made fun of you".

It was the fact this is the 5,000th time we heard you mention about the sign. Seriously, for almost two months now.

It gets a little redundant. At least you have an animated sign, as of right now, Fenway does not have an animated Citgo Sign and it was the first thing mentioned by the devs as an example for the whole animation additions they wanted to add for this game in last years feedback thread. Nor is the scoreboard manual (judging by the BB build), and it is the most popular manual scoreboard in all of baseball. But other newer stadiums were corrected, even at CD.

I just suck it up and wait till next year, and mention it in the appropriate focus thread when they are posted. Not create threads without the game being "officially" out yet, for the umpteenth time. Just makes it all look selfish.

Just relax a bit. You will have a chance.

And we don't know for sure if the build was final or not. Some say some options were grey'ed out, some say options were fine. I only assume cause a dev said he didn't know the build version, and if they were final discs, I would think that would be known. Just an assumption. Not fact.
