yes lot of options the show has, dont forget sounds of the show.

good writeup, but could do without the insults peppered in.

yes the fenway scoreboard i think has been asked about for a few years now, i guess they r baby steppin on that one.
lot added tho in its stead.
The insults are what make the writeup great lol..:-)

I forgot to mention on Opening Day they had the Opening Day 2010 logo on the field...really cool

I continued a game that was already in progress in the bottom of the third. I was the Phillies (pitching), playing the Yankees(batting). Bottom of the third, man on first. They hit a line drive down the right field line that rolled to the wall. Werth picked it up and threw it to the cutoff, but instead it was more like a punt that landed in the infield. The ball seemed to go straight up in the air and landed about 15 feet short of the catcher. Instead of the catcher trying to pick it up and scramble back to home to try to tag the runner coming from first, he just stood there trying to block the plate. By the time the ball had stopped rolling, and the first baseman ran over to it, it was too late to get the runner scoring from first. Had the catcher make an attempt for the ball, the runner would of been out. It might be hard trying to visualize from my story, but the whole sequence was odd, and hopefully, definitely some kind of fluke.

Outside of that play, the game was great. Gameplay was tight and responsive, and the improvements to Yankee Stadium really stood out from the start. I started a new game in Pittsburgh and the stadium looks great. Not happy I can't play with the black jersey at home, but there are worse things in life. I felt a little funny playing for as long as I did, so as hard as it was to put it down, I had to. Can't wait for Tuesday!!
Did you just tap the cutoff button?

also, if i remember correctly, the opening day logo will have the correct year as you move through franchise, i.e. 2011, 2012.

I checked his player edit and it said he was a Generic 1. Now that might mean that he has a "Hidden" delivery, or it was just the generic 1 delivery. I used him with no one on base and he did pitch starting from the windup. Papelbon had a signature delivery last year that had both the windup and stretch, so who knows. Guess we'll have to wait til Tuesday before we really know the answer. But I might say that it was just the Generic delivery. (ooops, I guess I already answered this earlier, but I thought someone asked the question again.)

Another really cool thing that I noticed with this years game is that when the catcher catches a ball that's low, like a breaking ball of cut-fastball down in the zone, the catcher will underhand the ball instead of catching the same way all the time. Like a regular fastball up in the zone. It looks far more realistic. I am assuming that maybe SCEA used the Mauer mo-cap for catching and fielding to resemble all catchers in the game. If so, this is fantastic cuz catcher's will now act appropriately. Later

Well I dropped by again to have another go with the game, and ended up spending the better part of 3 hours paying and observing others. This was out at the Mall of America so there was a lot of traffic coming through, commenting how real and lifelike the game looked, etc.

I was able to get a shot of what i was talking about yesterday as far as the First Baseman not being able to field the ball cleanly. Here Justin Morneau tries to stab this low throw but it pops out of his glove...

I thought i had heard that although the bullpens are populated this year, that they didn't respond to the play.. Well I saw evidence today that the opposite is true. I wa splaying in Tampa so the bullpen benches are in fould ground down both lines. If you hit the ball hard enough in their direction, they will flinch. And in one case, a reliever jumped up off the bench and dove for the turf in the fetal position. Very cool!

Also saw a slow foul chopper (and i mean slow) headed for the Chicago white sox dugout which even had the protective screen in front of it, and Buehrle totally flinched and turned out of the way as the ball harmlessly glanced off the dugout fence. Funny stuff.

I noticed a variety of bad hops eat infielders up , an overthrow of second base on an attempted double play turn, overthrows to first, third. Just much more randomness of where the ball can end up in general, and i am loving that!

I saw an umpire take a foul off the mask and the crotch in the same game (ouch!) I saw the cowbells in action during a playoff game in Tampa. Speaking of playoffs, in between batters of my Twins/Rays playoff game, the announcers mentioned said to take a look at the playoff field as they overlayed the playoff bracket graphic right there in the middle of the game, nice touch.

I feel like I am missing something else that happened during the course of my games that made me say wow, but it isn't coming to me right now. Anyway I am ready for it to be tuesday now.

Played 3 innings today @BB and have a quick question. I don't know if this has been asked or answered yet but here is... I checked swing three times in the three innings I played and all three were called strikes (2 for called strike 3). All 3 looked to not go around but were called by the base umpire as going around. I believe last year it was based on how hard you pressed the X button. Has anyone else noticed every check swing being called or is it just me not getting in enough innings. I ask because all 3 looked nowhere near going around. Thanks

I think they mean the the guys warming up wont respond, the bullpen benches will act like dugouts.

Thanks for the info and videos BTW. That one looked so real, especially the stat overlay when he is coming up to bat and the camera angle.

Was RTP on? Cause some think overlays and stuff like you saw with the playoff thing doesn't happen with it on, but only in the classic broadcast style.

hey i dunno if someone has mentioned this but do the water fountains go off at comerica when u score a HR also do the tigers have more throwbacks this year?

i'm surprised they haven't had the water fountains in the show yet considering they have most of the little things in the game. i'm from australia so obviously i can't just pop over to a best buy and check it out for myself. if anyone can check it out and let me know that would kick ***

One minor concern is that I seem to be hearing alot of people seeing the ump get hit and keel over in pain. That's a cool animation and all but I hope it isn't overdone like the beach balls a few years ago, because that doesn't happen very often in real life.

I played about 20 innings and I saw it happen once

No, I held it down pretty hard. It's possible that it could of been the controller as well. But it was a little akward to watch the catcher just stare at the ball roll and not make a play on it.

I was definitely playing in RTP w/ Replay mode.
