Just simmed a season with the default rosters. My team wound up David Price, Adam Lind and Wade Davis somehow with trades on manual. So I guess that idea doesn't work.

Tommy Hanson did go 18-6 for me though, and I got really excited for the upcoming real season.

Couple of things on the Trade.

      1. I just traded Barry Zito for Felix Hernandez, I am the giants. So im guessing that is part of the the Trade Logic Issue. I have been reading the forums to see if this is getting patched, and so it seems Koble said IF for the patch. im confused.

      2. Also with the trade logic. I use instant trade, and i have done trades where the CPU meter is 100% full but when i submit the trade they say that they are not interested in this type of trade right now.. blah blah blah.. Is this part of the trade logic glitch as well, or is it suppose to be like that. I am just confused because it says 100% interested but then the trade gets rejected.

Last, the latest Live roster update, when i download i have Jeter at CF, and Granderson at SS. I have DL it over and over doesnt fix it. I know i can set the lineup myself, just wondering if this is the only issue with it.

I save turn off my ps3 then hours later turn it back on and try to trade again and get the message that says the team will consider my offer and get back to me in a few days. So in other words everything will save but my pending trade offers. Any ideas. I can send pictures of what I am talking about if needed. Thanks so much.
Sounds like you have the "Trade Pondering" option turned on or what ever it's called. They don't trade right away and instead take a few days IN GAME to accept or decline. You can change this by making the trades instant.

I've tried default rosters, profile loaded, default profile, new rosters, etc...I still end up getting players traded from me that I don't authorize. The computer just automatically asks for trades for some reason. If you control every team you will still get teams asking for a trade lol, which makes absolutely no sense.

I doubt there will be a home brew "work around" for this.
Obviously there is something triggering the game into thinking you have AUTO trades on.
I'm fairly confident this and the other fixes Kolbe mentioned will be resolved.
If they can pinpoint the problem....they are very good at taking care of it.
You gotta know this is pissing them off big time. They work hard on putting out a superior product and things like this making through Q&A must be extremely frustrating for them.

I think until then...we just have to make the best of it.

I would suggest this as in the off season....you might want to "nudge" teams into signing FA's and such.
The only time you will be given the opportunity to "control"(basically like an overlord option...you are not really controlling anything UNLESS you choose to...and you can go back and forth) all 30 teams is when you BEGIN a franchise.
Seriously....I don't see a downside to "controlling" all 30 teams. You can have the league play out any way you like....including giving every task to the CPU.

                knight,

can you undo cpu trades that are bad between teams if you just have your 1 team set to control and all other teams are cpu controlled are do all 30 teams have to be selected at the beginning of franchise set up to be able to do this. thanks

You must check off all teams to start.
Give them a profile with everything set to AUTO. This is basically the same as starting a 1 team franchise.
                  BUT...
If you see anything happen you don't like...you can go into PROFILE----VIEW----and then OPTIONS and change whatever option you need to ....to undo the move.(or create a different profile with separate options set to MANUAL and just assign that one to the correct team in the PROFILE ASSOCIATION screen.....then change it back to your all AUTO profile...after you fix what you need to.) It's very flexible.
You can then switch it back giving full control back to the CPU.
The only chance you get to be the "overlord" is when you first begin a franchise.

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update

Okay, if I'm understanding this (the discussion has gotten significantly longer in the time it's taken me to go to the gym and cook dinner), taking control of all 30 teams and letting the other 29 do their thing for the most part works because you can go in and reverse anything you think is wack for the other teams.

                    Is that right?

It's obviously not ideal, but that's not so bad of a thing, imo. I can live with that.

Edit: Knight posted the answer while I was typing . . . nevermind. And thanks.

I just got done playing O's Vs Tampa and I had 0 problems. No freezing, no glitching and it played fine. Now if I play it again I might not get the same result but as far as me, I didnt have any problems.

Now for that game I actually played both sides with one controller. What I mean by that is some innings I played pticher for both teams, other innings I was the batters for both teams. Just to see what would happen. So maybe that stopped freezing from happening. But again maybe I've just been lucky as I cant say I've had these problems yet.
Do we know if this is only at Tropicana field or is it just the Ray's when you play them at home in general?

I noticed the trade and rating issues in less than a hour. I bet they are more thanpissed off, someone has some splaning to do Lucy.

Without being in game I don't know for sure. I know there is an option in the Game Options screen or maybe in your profile screen that should allow you to change that whenever you want, in franchise or out of it.

For what it's worth guys. As Knight had said earlier I think trades are based off a few factors, salary, Potential, prospects......and contract length. Now running most sims I noticed that most players traded were in the last year of their deals. Even arbitration eligible players seem like they are in the last year of their contract, when technically they are still under team control.

To test the theory I used 30 team control, released beckett, ortiz, lester. then resigned them to 4 year deals. Gave control back to cpu and simmed. None of the players were traded. now the reason I find this significant is because each sim I have done up until this ortiz and beckett have been traded.

I think the cpu puts a little too much weight into trading players in last year of deals and not look at the other variables enough.

If some trades bother you and a short term work around would be to give the player an extra year or a player or club option.

I just tried the same thing.

Here is something that actually makes this bug a little "nice".

I took control of all 30 teams....I gave my profile to the Mets...left the rest NO PROFILE....went to GLOBAL options(which is what the NO PROFILE teams will follow)....and set everything EXCEPT trades to AUTO.
Now....the CPU is putting guys on the block and OFFERING trades...except I'M the one getting the offers(for ALL teams). If I don't like it...I turn it down. It's kind of like a commissioner overlord mode!
I'm still playing around with it...but no trades have been made this way w/o my authorization so far.
One thing I did notice...teams get desperate and put the player on the trading block repeatedly...as if screaming "LOOK WHO I HAVE ON THE BLOCK!"
                              Sometimes testing is fun.
