Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds

I have been having an issue where my game freezes upon loading. I have deleted both the game saves and the install file but still freezing at the loading screen (playstation presents... etc).

Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this? Thanks!

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds

Hey guys, I'm at June 1 in my franchise and still have not seen a single trade offer either to my team or between CPU teams. Using the trade workaround listed in this thread with 30 team control and trades on Auto for Global. The only thing in Global I have on Manual is Lineups/Rotations and I have injury management on MLB only.

For my profile I have everything on Manual except training on Auto.

Does anyone see something I might be doing wrong here that is causing no trades to be proposed to any teams at all? I play my game for the day, then "sim to date" to get to the next day and then immediately check Pending Transactions. Nothing ever there.

Do I need trades on Auto for my own profile also?

      Thanks for your help.

        Man...that's weird.
Would you mind saving...then simming a month or so to see if any pop up?

Ha, ready for this. So I start to sim a few days, only thing I did differently than usual is just hit "auto fix" if anything came up in terms of invalid lineups or rotations. Usually I manually fix those since I have lineups/rotations on Manual and want to keep things semi-realistic. Three days into simming, June 4, I start seeing trades happen, Ben SHeet gets dealt to BAL. So I keep going, and then sure enough start seeing some offers.

Hopefully it's an amazing coincidence and it just took until the first week of June to start making offers. But I am curious if my hitting "auto fix" when the lineup prompts popped up somehow triggered something.

Guess I'll just have to play it out and see what happens...

            Quick question.
Anyone else notice how much the CPU drag bunts in RTTS when doing defence?
I notice it just because I started a game as 1B so I get a lot of fielding opportunities.

I have the same settings as you and I did a sim the other night and trades didn't start popping up until late May, early June so it could just be a coincidence.

That's great to hear. Thanks for the info. I actually like it if this is the case, it seems alot more realistic. I had just heard so much about trades in this game that I expected to see Pujols dealt in April or something!

Common problem with forums in general. I waited late to pick up MLB the show this year because all the talk about this bug and that glitch, I finally said forget it and went and bought and haven't seen any of the things I was afraid I'd see!

Well Knight, I finally saw my first trade proposal on June 4th! Guess I just need to learn some patience!

                    Thanks for your help though.

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds

I recently noticed in my game when I offered a trade that if I shut the game off the trade offer would dissapear from the pending trades screen. I have instant trades off so I have to wait a few days for the other team to respond, I think I have found a workaround for this.

First make the offer, then play your game for that day, then when you simulate the rest of that days games you get a response about the trade right after it goes to the next day. I have tried this several times and it worked every time.

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds

I am going to play a single season but before I begin, I have a few questions. I am so confused about the lineups, 30-team roster control, trades, etc that my head is going to explode!!

I just want to have the most realistic experience but I need some serious help. I don't want to spend 5 hours setting every teams lineup and making sure their 40 man roster is correct before the season begins but I also don't want unrealistic transactions occuring either. So what do I do?

                        1. What is 30-team control? Should I have it on for single-season mode?
                        2. What is AUTO trades? Should I have this on so the CPU will make trades?
                        3. What about AUTO lineups/rotations? MANUAL lineup? Which one is better for my situation?
                        4. What is GLOBAL settings?
                        5. Will the lineups "stick" after spring training in single season mode? If so, how do I get them to? If not, how do I correct it?
                        6. Even in single season mode, will I have to set the 40 man rosters at the end of spring training? 25 man?
                        7. If I do have to set 40 man or 25 man rosters, how do I get that information for every team? What about the correct lineups/order? (This seems like a big headache if I have to fix all of this).
                        8. Anything else I'm leaving out? If so, do tell!

Thanks in advance to everyone here @ OS! And thanks to Knight for his awesome roster work!!

Is there a workaround for the budget problems in franchise mode? I'm in my second year of a franchise without 30 team control and hope is dwindling for a third patch.

                          Thanks.

Check out the first post of this thread, there should be answers to all your questions. A word of advice though, even if you're playing a single season, use franchise mode with 30-man control.
Yes, I've been here since 2003. No, I don't post much. I'm too busy playing the games.

Question about 30 team control. I just started a new franchise with it and simmed through the first season. I have everything set to auto for all teams except the pirates. I noticed that there were a bunch of players placed on the block but no trades being made. Is there something I'm doing wrong or do I have to manually trade players for teams that I'm not controlling?

They should trade if you have trades set to AUTO in the GAMEPLAY options.
Check that you don't have it on MANUAL.
Everything in the GAMEPLAY section is for the CPU teams....your team is controlled by the options set in your PROFILE.
