sorry for the double post but we have more wheelin' and dealin' happening in the month of May. Man, teams are eager to make moves this year.

Reds Get:

C John Hester

Diamondbacks get:

SP Arodlis Chapman

*terrible trade by the Reds in my opinion. They are leading the Central by 2 games over the Brewers and 4 over us at the time. They have played terrific baseball and their pitching has been extremely solid. They are in need of a 2B terribly and they make this move, for a position they could've addressed in the offseason or later in the season when teams are more willing to sell. Chapman was 4-1 with a 2.50ish ERA.

Red Sox get:

SP Carlos Zambrano

Cubs get:

SP: Erik Bedard
CP: Jonathan Papelbon
SP: Tyson Duke (prospect who is pitching well in the bigs)

* The BoSox over paid for Zambrano. Bedard and Duke would've been more than enough. Actually they should've kept both Bedard and Papelbon and gave up another prospect to get Zambrano. They needed Zambrano because their starting pitching staff is young. Now they get Z, but lose out on a very good pitcher in Bedard and will turn to a young closer now. The BoSox are about 6 games out of first(Baltimore and Toronto are tied..yeah crazy I know), but they are by no means out of it. Bad move on their part.

The Cubs have to be jumping for joy at this trade to the extent that Z was in a contract year, but in retrospect are probably kicking themselves right now. All 3 players they received are in contract years, no way they keep all of them, and I don't believe this addressed any of their needs to become contenders this season. We'll see.

I'm the Indians nearing the trade deadline and I'm looking for a bat (OF or middle infielder) to come off the bench as I make my playoff push...any suggestions guys?

Alright guys offseason plans for the Yankees. I won't resign Vazquez (Pettitte retired)

so i'm looking at CC, Yu Darvish, and AJ Burnett. I need to get rid of AJ. He is too injury prone and costs too much. I also need to add Phil Hughes and Ivan Nova to the rotation this season.

So i'm looking at
1. CC Sabathia
2. Yu Darvish
3.
4. Phil Hughes
5. Ivan Nova

now with two rookies starting, i want to try and get a third Ace in this staff. My first thought was sign Cliff Lee, however i also need to get rid of AJ Burnett. So i'm thinking maybe there is a deal such as

AJ Burnett, Manny Banuelos (A Potential Pitcher), and Ryan Pope (A Potential Pitcher) for Josh Johnson/Felix Hernandez/Zack Greinke.....any ideas?

How do people feel on this.
I give up: Ted Lilly (4-2 2.72 ERA), Ryan Theriot (.310 avg 1 HR 24 RBI, 8 SB), and my #15 prospect Chris Archer (2-4 3.21 ERA in 11 starts in AAA)
I get Jimmy Rollins (.248 7 HR 15 SB)

I'm looking to upgrade in the speed department, and get another lefty bat in the line up. I have Cashner in the 'pen with a 3.45 ERA so I figured he'd take Lilly's rotation spot.

if you need a righty try signing Jermaine Dye(the guy we should have signed instead of branyan imo) i tear it up with him and he could step in and start if needed. Plus you can keep all they guys from the farm.

I have to say that my franchise had no where near the crazy amount of trades, especially at the deadline, as this year in real life had. One thing I found funny was that Berkman was traded to the Yankees. That happened in my franchise, but in the second season rather than the first.

Do you guys think the trade of Michael Cuddyer for Jack Cust (both right fielders) is fair? I offered it and the A's had 100% interest in it.

Go less. In my Twins franchise he was very very cheap. He hadn't played all year for the A's and I have no clue why. I don't think he was hurt. Give them a prospect in AA for him. I have him coming off the bench as a left hander with Jim Thome. I have a lot of power with those two guys. I'm not sure why he was so cheap. Its not like they were dumping salary either cuz he was only 1.5 mill if I'm not mistaken.

Cust is so cheap because the game ranks players on their overall ability rather than stats or individual attributes. So any role player can be had for next to nothing. Cust has huge power, but low contact, very low (although not low enough) fielding, strikes out a ton so low plate coverage, and of course his speed is next to none. A player with good speed, defense, and contact will cost you more than a power hitter without speed or contact, no matter what stats they put up. If he could only play first base, he might be a good NL pickup, as he can only DH in the AL (unless you are Bob Geren and don't mind watching him drop easy fly balls every game).

* D'Backs send Dan Haren to the Twins for Joe Mauer. Prospects involved as well

* Reds send Orlando Cabrera to the Mets for David Wright. Immediately following the trade, the Reds place Aramis Ramirez on the trade block


As for myself, I'm still seeking what move, if any I should make. I need a consistent 5th starter and could use either a steady SS or 2B. Descalso could play the other.

In my franchise, I moved Manny and Carlos Monasterios for Adam Lind and Robert Ray I think his name was. I wanted to get younger in LF and add another power lefty to the line to go with Ethier.

I need a little help in my Mets franchise. There are two trades I have on the table.

Mets get:
Carlos Zambrano

Cubs get:
My 3 top pitching proscpects. [All "A" potential]


Mets get:
Fausto Carmona

Indians get:
John Smoltz
Mike Pelfrey
Top pitching prospect ["A" potential]

I don't know which one to pull the trigger on. But one thing for sure is I NEED pitching. The only solid guy in my rotation is Santana.

Zambrano would be better than Carmona but you sure are giving up way to much in both trades
