    Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**

In my franchise, the Tigers are offering SP Max Scherzer and RP Phil Coke to the Brewers for SP Randy Wolf and an A rated left handed starter (19 years old).

    Thoughts???

At first I was going to reject it because I figured the Tigers value Scherzer a lot. However they have no left handed starters in the rotation, and also have a dearth in the minors. They are making a playoff push, and conceivably Wolf would help them immediately, and they would also have an A rated lefty prospect for the future.

Th Brewers are struggling, and would be getting younger talent for a 33 year old veteran.

Looking for some advice, I'm struggling at 2B and the only really eye-catching person on the block is Jimmy Rollins. He's hitting .282 with 10HR and 22SB. It would be a definite upgrade over a struggling Theriot who's hitting .268 with 4HR and 25SB.

The Phillies are seeking RP, CP, 1B, 2B, and 3B help. I want to make a packagke deal consisting of something like: Theriot, RP John Grabow who has a 1.50 ERA on the year for me, and one of these prospects: my #8 prospect SP Chris Carpenter (not the Cardinals one of course) who's 24 with B potential, my #9 propspect 2B Ryan Flaherty, #13 prospect A potential Rafael Dolis, or my #15 prospecr SP Chris Archer.

Got the first two players who I'll trade decided, anyone wanna help me out on which prospect? I'm looking for a realistic amount to give up.

        Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**

Just made a couple trades at the deadline with my Tigers franchise. How did I do?

Traded CF Austin Jackson and C Jake Fox to the Brewers for CF Carlos Gomez, SP Carlos Villanueva and RP Mitch Stretter.

Traded RP Zach Miner to the Pirates for RP Mike Adams.

I made the first trade because Jackson was struggling and I had no use for Fox. Gomez would be nice to have on the basepaths and I needed a SP so Villanueva will jump in the rotation. Stretter is a decent RP but he was more of a throw-in, he will be one of my middle relievers.

My second trade, I kind of felt like I ripped the Pirates off but I needed a RHP really badly, and I figured that the Pirates wouldn't have the money to sign Adams in the off-season anyway so now they get to take a chance on a young pitcher who can also be used in the rotation.

It could just be me but I can't pitch with Scherzer or Coke. I had Scherzer in the minors for a few weeks after getting shelled for a month and maybe has an ERA around 4.50 since he's got back, which is solid at best, but only brought his season ERA down to 5.12. I just sent Coke down a couple weeks ago, he had a 7.14 ERA and I hadn't pitched him for a few weeks lol. They both have lots of potential though.

I wouldn't send this through though. The Tigers are desperate for good, major league pitching and I think they value Scherzer a lot higher than Wolf and they need Coke because their bullpen is so bad.

Re: CPU Trades in Franchise Mode - Can I Prevent Them?

Thanks for your help. The only reason I am a bit apprehensive about using the 30 team control is because I'm not sure I totally understand it. I just want to play as my Indians, but with 30 team control does this mean I have to sim all the other team's games? What happens with the team I'm actually playing against, do I "control" them as well?

As you can see, I'm a bit confused

              3-Team Trades in MLB 11?

              Is it possible?

I was playing 09 recently and finished the 2009 season and wanted to recreate the Yankees/Tigers/Diamondbacks trade and couldn't because it's never been an option in the MLB series.

Is it possible for MLB 11?

No..you don't have to do anything(except the drafts...the June draft you have to "ask" the CPU which player it wants for each team you control by hitting the square button....the CPU will put it's choice on top and you have to pick it....and the Rule V.....you have to do anything you think is good for each team)...
You simply put everything in GLOBAL options to AUTO....have the trade option to NOT be instant(the 3 day waiting period)...and check the pending transaction page. If you see an offer on the table for the CPU teams you don't like...decline it.

The draft part definitely is the worst part of 30 team control. For the emails I just go through on the first day and double-tap square on the "all" and it'll turn notifications off on all options (first tap is all on, second all off). Then you don't have to bother with their emails :P.

As much as I love your work, I am going to disagree with you on the draft. I did dozens of test runs with this while waiting for, oddly enough, your rosters to come out. What I found is that on 1 team control the CPU will have an entirely different draft experience than when you do 30 and hit square. Hitting square basically takes the best player listed. You might as well just select the top player on the all player page for each team. When on single team, you get a much more random experience. Some teams grab up the best player, some teams will go for potential, and still others will go for need.

I am really glad that the option is there, but for me I just prefer to run my show and let the other chips fall where they will. I am getting closer to finishing my second season, and I have to say that nothing has happened so far that would even come close to being considered a franchise killer. The Yankees are still the Yankees and think they can buy up every player out there, the Pirates are still selling off every player making more than minimum wage, most top tier players stayed with their teams, while mid level players went to teams that needed that position. Works for me.

Pick up Orlando Hudson thru free-agency if you're not using real rosters.

I restarted my A's franchise from scratch and did the mandatory Jeremy Bonderman pick up, I gave up Dallas Braden. I like Dallas, but I felt that my rotation could use a bit more power since I'm giving Justin Duchscherer a try and I also have Trevor Cahill who's fastball is not so powerful, but it has some decent movement.
