I am a noob to these rules, but playing a game (I replaced my copy that broke) Campbell mentioned that I will get expanded rosters in a week. Does that mean I can have more players on the bench as we get closer to the playoffs?

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
yes after the minors seasons are done you will expand to 40 man rosters so everybody that is on your 40 man roster will be in the big leagues. Gives you some more options and helps with pitchers if you want to see how you will pitch with that person. The callups shouls be on the first of september but they have it wrongComment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Nice! I have a massive lead in my division, and I am pretty much playing with bench guys on a daily basis now. I have about 35-40 more games in the regular season. I am bored. Looking forward to the playoffs where every game matters.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Playing with the Twins. Started the first half of the year on All Star and was like 40-15, so I moved to Hall of Fame and have been winning only 6 out of 10 games now. It's a lot more fun now that I lose almost as much as I win. I have the standard rosters since my ps3 is not online. Only starter that is not a starter in real life is Grady Sizemore. I traded Delmon Young, Denard Span and a pitcher to Cleveland for him. Sizemore is my favorite player in this game. I am sure you like him too with Cleveland.Comment

Thanks Vmart. I am glad you were able to keep Sizemore and still get A-Gon (who is a better all around player than Fielder anyway). I don't know how much of a difference playing at Progressive will matter on the game, but in real life A-Gon has one of the most lopsided home/away home run splits. Playing anywhere else will certainly boost his power numbers. On my franchise, Sizemore went to the Red Sox. I had hoped he would stay with the Indians forever, but I was wrong. I think about getting him on my team, but I don't know how feasible that would be. How does he perform for you on the game?
As to Giambi, in last year's version of the Show, I just mashed with him. Before my franchise froze in July, he was leading the majors in home runs on pace to hit around 60. I could really take those low breaking pitches and jerk them over the wall. The CPU always shifted on him as well, so being late on a fastball was almost a guaranteed hit.
Fool, the September call ups won't happen until after the minor league playoffs. So if your AAA team, which is most likely where the majority of your 40 man minor league players will be, make the playoffs, it might take a little longer to get your call ups. If not, you will get them the day after their season ends (sometime around the first couple of days of week two in September). One other advantage of the call ups is that all your players will be completely refreshed and hot/cold players reset to normal.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
cardsleadtheway I can comment on Sizemore, since I've had him for close to 100 games. He is leading the majors in Homers with 42, average at .389 and is in the top 10 in steals. I picked him up early in the season (maybe a month or so in) and have had nothing but success with him since then. He can get an infield single, hit a 430 foot home run and steal a base all in the same game. I don't know many players besides Sizemore who have that kinda speed and power in the game. I play on Hall of Fame now. If I was still on All Star I have no doubt I could hit 75 homers in a year with him. The thing I love the most about the guy is his speed in the outfield. If the ball hangs up even a little bit, he can get it. I've had so many guys hit a ball to the gap that would be a double or triple, but Sizemore just covers so much ground it's insane. It's a visible difference when you see him tracking the ball compared to most other CF in the game. His high leg kick when he hits really makes timing easy. I have him as my leadoff guy and I think he has close to 7 or 8 leadoff home runs. Nothing better than a run on the board after only one hitter. He is a great bunter too. The weird thing is that he has been leading the league in a lot of hitting categories, but his "hot zone" is ONLY the 3 boxes right down the middle. The game says he is cold anywhere but a pitch right down the middle, but I've still had a ton of success. He can also play left and right field. Right field you will lose a little bit since his arm isn't as strong as some other RF such as Cuddyer, Vlad, Ichiro or Choo. All in all, he is my favorite player in The Show.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Well, it appears I have my trade. I am shipping OF Shane Victorino, 3B Placido Polanco, and LHP J.A. Happ to Tampa Bay for RHP James Shields, OF Pat Burrell, and RHP Grant Balfour.
I get rid of two players I don't need, upgrade the rotation, and add a piece in the bullpen and bench. And incase I can't resign Werth, I can have Burrell replace him since he is doing much better than in real life. I really like this trade.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
he truly is one of those players that has 5 tools when hes healthy in real life its just the healthy part is what is holdong him back but he is fun to watch in real life every game and to see some of the things that he can do. I really hope he comes back healty but i have my doubtsComment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I drafted a CF my first season that I have high hopes will amount to a Torii Hunter type or even a Sizemore. He has good power for a CF, but his defense is a little low, as his speed. I have been trying to help that out a bit by training speed and defense so that he might one day be a great defender and have moderate speed. Worst case scenario, I can move him to left, but I would rather keep him in center. A good CF is really hard to come by, whereas corner outfielders are much easier to replace. I can only think of Hunter, Sizemore, and Beltran as being elite center fielders. There may be others, but I can't think of them right now.Comment
