Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Some strange developments going on as the deadline looms in 2012 of my franchise. The Phillies just trade Cole Hamels to the Rockies for some CP and Tulowitski. So they now have Rollins and Tulo, then waived a low level 3B whose name I can't recall to make room on the 40 man. The Phillies still have Ryan Howard in AAA, but now have two premier SS on their team. I imagine one of them will have to take over 1B. They also have 6 CP in their franchise with 4 on the 40 man and 3 on the 25. I guess they really want to shore up that bull pen. Whatever they are doing must be working, because they are way out in front of their division, even without Howard.
The Rays made a trade of RF Domonic Brown to the Mets for David Wright. It looks like Wright will be the DH for them.Comment

Well its time for me to dismantle my 2011 Cubs. We are 20-30 and 11 GB on May 29th. We are looking to go young. Right now I'm waiting for an answer from the Dodgers, they are currently tied for 1st with SF, I offered them Adam Dunn for James Loney, Scott Elbert and RF Scott Van Slyke. I've been trying to pry Jed Lowrie from the Red Sox but they won't bite on anything I offer. He's currently playing in AAA but they won't accept any of my offers.Last edited by zippy2212; 11-15-2010, 04:28 PM.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Well my Dunn trade was just accepted so it is off to try to land a Middle Infielder that can hit above .220! Still holding out hope that I can find some sort of package for the Red Sox to get Lowrie. I'm also trying to get rid of Fukudome. Anybody have any ideas?Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Why Lowrie? And why are you dismantling so early? I would wait until at least the last week of June before going that route. You get better deals after July 1st when teams make the decision to be playoff push or not. If Tampa is in the playoff hunt in July, which they should be, then I would try to pry Brignac from them. You should be able to get him and a few others for one of your big name guys you want to move. If Oakland is in, do the same with Grant Green. Maybe the same with Ramiro Pena. All of these guys should be better than Lowrie and cost you less. Teams that are in playoff push are much easier to trade big contracts for their prospects.Comment

I agree with him on all fronts, minus the Ramiro Pena thing. If you want to hit over .220, DO NOT TRADE FOR RAMIRO PENA!!! I sent him down due to his lack of hitting, and atrocious fielding.
Full disclosure: I didn't keep Pena up very long. Probably a month or so, so don't take my opinion of him as truth. This was just my personal experience with him.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I never played with Ramiro Pena. I was just throwing out prospect names for teams that will most likely be in the playoff push. It is super easy to get prospects on this game from those teams if you are willing to give up your star player that is making too much money. It might be a little more difficult in the following years due to some teams maximizing their budgets during the off season, thus not allowing much wiggle room for big contracts at the deadline. But most teams have a lot of budget room in the first year of play.Comment

I guess I should clarify. I'm not looking to completely dismantle just get rid of useless parts. Since Castro has been out for about a month and Darwin Barney is hitting .178 I was looking for a MI who is primarily a SS to fill in until Castro is back. Plus my other MIer's are all hitting under .220 I thought Lowrie could slide over to 2nd once castro is back and move DeWitt to the bench.
After reading you guys advice. I decided to hold off on any major trades. I did make one minor one I traded Sean Rodriguez to SD for Luke Gregerson. I was shocked they accepted it. He had a .96 ERA in 24 appearances and then I promoted from within adding Logan Watkins to my 40 man and promoting him to the MLB to take over at Short until Castro is back.Comment

Watkins was hitting .339 with 1 HR and 6 dbls in 56 at bats in AAA at the time of the promotion so I figured I would just give him a shot until closer to the deadline and see what is out there.
BTW sorry for the double post was sending this from my cell phone.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Pavano
for
Niemann
Davis
Garza
Can't put any logic to that one. I benefited by getting 3 good pitchers for one old one, but I felt guilty and restarted my franchise with Baltimore. Then I moved Millwood and a B level pitcher for Dominic Brown. Also I managed to get Fausto Carmona and Ricky Nolasco somehow. I Forget what I had to give up for them.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Don't know if there is a thread for this but in my RTTS 2016 year, some top players have really **** the bed. David Wright is all F's and retired due to ability. Verlander is all D's and Ubaldo Jimienez is the 5th starter for the Rockies.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
So if I have 30 team control , and set the global profile to auto for trades, I can still override them right?
I miss having the simple option where you turn cpu trades "off," but I don't mind SOME trades, so maybe that would work? Can someone confirm this for me?Comment

Does that make sense?Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I believe that is true. I think you can go to "Pending Transactions" each day if you have Instant Trades Off to see the trade proposals out there. If there are any you don't like you should be able to scroll to one of the teams in question and cancel the trade. Or if trades go through that you don't like you should be able to undo it by going to one of the teams involved, offering a "reverse trade" and then going to the other team to accept it.
Does that make sense?
This IS true. 100% bulletproof.
I've only stepped in to veto a proposal a couple of times, but it's a great feature in this game.Comment

Trades you plan on making in 'chise
As a Braves fan, my team is seriously lacking in speed, which is a big component of how I like to play. I think I am going to move Martin Prado back to 2B where he is much more valuable, and try to find a team with a speedy CF/LF to trade him for. Who do you think would be a realistic/good fit? I am looking at BJ Upton, but not sure how fair of a deal that would be. TB could use him at 2B, while giving D.Jennings the job in CF. thoughts? what deals are you going to be making to start your 'chise?Comment
