Re: Lowell or Beltre - Who Should I Trade For?

Based on what you guys have said and Beltre's hitting stance, I went with Lowell. He should fit in nicely hitting behind Todd Helton.

I will say that trading for Cameron and Lowell made me go from 15th to 6th in team rankings. It was because it improved my D from #27 to #5. I knew they were good (especially Cameron), but I didn't know they were THAT much better than what I had.

Re: If you were the GM of the Giants, would you make this trade?

The Rays will be looking to make a deal for Crawford regardless of their position in the standings this season. The dealt Kazmir when they were still in it last season and are determined to lower the payroll again. If they can get something for Crawford they will. And all the fans here in Tampa are not happy with it, but know it is coming. Take it from someone that sees the guy every day (in real life) - Crawford is sensational. Although he refuses to bat lead-off. The Rays need a (future) catcher so the trade logic in this game sounds dead on IMO.

I hate to trade a promising prospect, especially one at catcher, but I figure I can always move Kung Fu Panda over to that position. I'll just have to sign a free agent during the off-season to fill the position at 3rd base. My only concern is that I have a lot of expiring contracts: Tim Lincecum, Pablo Sandavol, Matt Cain, Brian Wilson and Adrian Gonzalez. I don't know if I'll be able to resign everyone, including Carl Crawford, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
Good choice man. I don't think you'll miss Buster at all with Crawford on your team. Dude is a great ball player.

          Re: Trade for Prince Fielder

Dude, Abreu has another 10 million due next year, and is 36 years old! Saunders is a decling talent already. The rest of the cupboard is bare in Anheim.

Prince is 25 years old, and you're talking about a team that would NOT take on large salaries (over 5 million a piece) and would need talent to be young, or younger than Prince.

Given the Brewers have almost zero pitching talent in the minors, I think a package with a team that (A) can sign a Boras type contract, (B) is in the AL so he can play DH, and (C) has a lot of depth in the minor league which could include a future ace and middle of the rotation guy.

I could see Rangers deal with Neftali Perez being the center piece, or a Tampa deal with Jeremy Hellickson and or Wade Davis. Boston would also be a good place with Casey Kelly being the centerpiece.

I have to assume that the no CPU team would accept this offer. Perhaps it was a practical joke by the GM
i dont take the chance to find out. if i dont like them i reject them for the cpu. if it was to go thru and i wanted to trade it back, i would have to go thru the mess of trying to fix the lineups and rotaions again. Thats a pain so its better to just reject them if i dont like them.

i made a trade that the brewers rejected. so on that note i need some advice on making a fair trade. I have selected Dave Bush of the Brewers as a guy who would be perfect for my indians,

the brewers are 30-35, 15 back in the central and 12 back in the wildcard. It may be a little early for them to give up their #2 SP, but he is just 3-7 with a 5+ era

Jeanmar Gomez is a A potential SP in my chise. Chen Lee is a C potential RP in my chise. I would also like to dump Joe Smith (D potential)

trade these 3 players for Bush and a D potential RP (has good stuff, but no potential)

            is that fair?

what about Anthony Reyes (C potential SP), Chen Lee, Joe Smith for Dave Bush

            is that fair?

I traded for Lowell and so far he is 8 for 8 with 2 homers, 3 doubles and 9 RBI's. I think I am satisfied!

I have seen rumors about Prince going to Boston for some pitching, including Clay Bucholtz.
Mark my words - the Brewers are going to sign Fielder to a long-term deal, and it's gonna be bank-breaking.

Brewers would take an A, C and Joe Smith in a nano-second for Bush. Granted its a little early in the season at 65 games, but the Brewers would take that.

Word. Bush is a #3 or #4 guy on any team not named Brewers.

(Technically he is the #4 guy, the lineup is Yoga, Wolf, Davis, Bush, Narvy)

how old is bush but i would say maybe a b prospect like rondon with lee smith for bush but the best thing to do is look at the team overview and see where they need help the most

A little off topic but has anyone offered a player in a trade and the other team never responded? I have instant trades off so when I offer a trade it takes a few days. I had a trade pending with the Mets and I never got a notice saying they weren't interested and when I checked my pending trades screen the offer was gone.

I am guessing you made the offer, shut down the game, and then came back at a later time, no? There is a glitch in this game in that the trade must be offered and then accepted or declined prior to exiting the game or else it disappears. I hope that gets fixed a possible third patch

Actually that's exactly what I did, tried it again and it happened again. Thanks for the heads up on the glitch.

                                Pujols trade question

Pujols gets traded in every single season I simulate, and he is on the trade block in my current franchise.

I can get him for Tulowitski and some prospects. Would you guys give up Tulo to get Albert? I hate to give him up - he is leading the league in hitting, is second in HR's (to Pujols) and 3rd in RBI (also behind Pujols).

The other pieces are easily replaced in my system. I just can't decide what to do. Then I would have Helton to worry about as well. He is listed as playing RF, so I guess he could move.

I have rebuilt the Rockies in my own image, so I'm not too concerned about "realism." I just want to make sure I don't regret giving up Tulo.
