In Doing a Padres franchise I explored trades until I found what seemed to benefit me the most by trading Adrian Gonzalez.

I was able to land, and i'm not sure this is realistic at all but i took it, Martin Prado, Yunil Escobar and Jair Jurrjens from the Braves for Adrian.

This definitely helped me a ton by giving me a 2B for the future, Yunil I moved to third and moved Headly to first, so I filled up my infield with young and good potential players and also added another Starter to a subpar staff until some of the guys grow into their potential.

You mean you added a guy with 6.38 ERA to a staff that has the second best ERA in baseball...

You must be using the day 1 stock rosters, because after they [scea] updated the rosters the first time, Bailey was re-rated as an A potential (rightly so). In real life, the A's would never make this trade. None of those prospects are nearly as good as the very young and talented pitching core in both the majors and minors. I could definitely see them moving Sheets this year, but for bats rather than arms. Then again, Beane seems to love prospects so perhaps I am wrong.

yeah i was thinking that too, but i figured this one wasnt a total reach considering most trade i see are really dumb. So i let it go thru.

i am using OSUBeavers file with the top 7 named prospects for each team.

The Yankees just traded Burnett and two minor leaguers to Arizona for what I'm assuming is an A potential 3rd basemen on May 15th. NY is currently in last place, and Arizona is in first in the West.

haha, yeah in real life they have been fantastic, in my video game though, and a lot of it is me more than their abilities they were abysmal in year 1, year 2 has started off better but its early.

Trades repeatedly rejected

I'm at the end of May in my Twins dynasty, and back in late April, I lost Michael Cuddyer for the season to injury. So I have been trying to trade for a right-handed power bat.

However, every time I propose a trade, the blue "trade bar" always gets past the middle, usually almost near the end on the other side. Then the next day, the trade has been rejected.

What's going on here?

I dont think teams like to trade too much early in the season.

I'm assuming you have Instant Trades OFF. If that's the case, the blue bar is meaningless.

I am heartbroken and torn right now. The Cardinals just put Albert Pujols on the block. I am using my beloved Braves and I thought I would mess around with what they would ask for, in return for Pujols. I would be giving up my favorite player of all time (chipper Jones) and Billy Wagner for Albert Pujols. No prospects or anything. The thing about all this is, If I move chipper it clears up enough cap space to re-sign Albert. Also, throughout the season, I might move derek Lowe because of his contract as well. As much of a chipper fan as I am do you think I should make this trade?

I might pull the trigger on the deal and then see if I can't get Chipper back somehow.

EDIT: I could swing a trade for chipper again, by unloading Derek Lowe and his contract along with Yunel Escobar for Chipper...thoughts?

So in essence i'd be trading Derek Lowe, Billy Wagner, Yunel Escobar, and Chipper Jones for Chipper Jones and Albert Pujols..

you're only problem will be finding a new 3B...unless you're going to put Glaus over there, which I wouldn't recommend.

Have you tried throwing Wagner and prospects at the Cards to see if they bite? Most notably...OF prospects.

I tried throwing Wagner and Heyward(wasnt actually going to do it) but they wouldn't bite. I would need a SS if I swung the second trade for Chipper to come back. Thing is, Chipper is only good for a year MAYBE two, but he is my favorite player and I just don't want to lose him. I also don't really want to lose Escobar because he is so young and very good. Man I hate that Albert is on the block lol.

Im in my cubs franchise around mid season on the trade deadline. So far I am first in the division, with Soriano and Ramirez in the top 10 in most categories. So far my only issue is I dont have any speedster players to get on base and really create issues on the basepaths. I went to the trade block and looked at players like Jose Reyes and Carl Crawford. Reyes just doesnt seem realistic that he would get traded so I am not looking into that. But Crawford maybe because the Rays are 4th in the AL East with Desmond Jennings waiting to break into the bigs. But I couldnt find a deal that works that didn't involve sending Lee and Ramirez for Crawford.

So I looked at various 2nd/SS players and I could trade Zambrano/Fontenot/B prospect pitcher for Uggla/A prospect pitcher.

Is that realistic? Zambrano was my set up man, so i dont really need a replacement because Angel Guzman is really good for me. And Jeff Baker is a huge utility guy and he can play multiple positions off the bench now.

Also is there any 2nd/SS players that are speedy contact hitters that are of Zambranos worth?
