I am really curious to see what trades happen in my second season, especially now that most good players are signed to multi-year contracts. I am not going to do any test runs this time. I play it as it happens and then will report it here.
no burnett trade, as I play as the yankees.
Tho, i haven't even gotten an offer for him.

Burnett is still a Yank and Price is still a Ray in my franchise.

That is incredible. Are you playing with 30 team "commissioner" set up? If not, you might be the only person ever to play this game that hasn't had Burnett traded. Well, other than teams controlling the Yankees that is.

CB, you should be quite a ways in your second season by now. Have you seen many or any trades yet? How about free agent pick ups by the CPU? If I recall correctly, there were no decent players left in FA in my franchise after the off season. In the first season, the only players picked up from FA were crappy players that were released by other players. I am wondering if season two is any different. Thanks for the info. I still haven't been able to get out of spring training yet.

i am now into august and have not seen anymore trades after the deadline. One thing i did was turn waivers to manual on july 31 so the CPU wouldnt try to place all the best players on trade waivers. On Aug 1 i turned waivers back to auto and the CPU havnt tried to place anyone on trade waivers

Well that would be my guess as to why you have not seen any trades. Players would have to pass through waivers in order to get traded, but if you turned off waivers then no player could be placed on waivers. I think you could still trade players that are not on the 40 man roster, but I doubt you would see very many, if any, of those kind of trades.

lot of intriguing moves in year 2 in May and thus far in June. Lot of big names on the block as well.

                Nope...controlling one team.

There's really no big names in FA market. I forgot who it was but someone signed Jason LaRue and someone else signed Rocco Baldelli during the season. Those would be the biggest, as sad as that sounds, FA signings during the season.

Teams are still signing FA's but unlike year 1, they aren't just turning around and releasing them. They are actually keeping them. Only once has a team signed someone only to turn around and release them.

As for trades, I've seen quite a few thus far as I'm in late June. Some big time trades, some nice trades, and some headscratching trades. Most notably, the Mets trading for Alex Gordon...

Granted now Wright is on the block, but I was like seriously New York? LOL.. In case anyone is wondering, Wright isn't happy with his salary nor team performance/team this season.

i did turn waivers back on, on Aug 1st. but now that the day after the deadline thing has passed where the cpu puts everyone on trade waivers, they have not attempted to put anyone on waivers...which is good imo

I just saw my first CPU to CPU trade and it came on June the 4th.

Jason Marquis to the Dodgers in exchange for Cory Wade. I let it go through and promoted Strasburg to the Nationals.

I use the Royals in Franchise and I been trying hard as hell to do a trade I did in MLB 2K10... trade Gil Meche for Carl Pavano. I think its a fair trade, Meche just makes too much money.

I just checked mine and Todd Wellemeyer is the top free agent starting the year. He wants quite a bit of money, and he is getting up there in age without that much talent. That could explain why no team wanted him. Other than him, no real big names in my franchise either. I am glad to hear that the CPU has stopped grabbing players and dumping them on the same day. I know it really made no difference to me, but for some reason it bugged me. Perhaps I was upset that we are a small market team that can't afford to waste 60K a day, lol. I kind of like what you said about the Mets. Perhaps the game is smart enough to want to move players that are not happy and replace them with other players. I will be curious to see if they do indeed move Wright.

i also noticed under the RUMOR MILL section that its showing I am one of the teams interested in reliever Mike Adams.
I like that they look at stuff the team might need and translate it to the rumor mill for trades.
my bullpen has been taking a hit.
