Tough call, do you have any other lefties in your lineup? For me, I guess that would determine if I kept Votto. Posey could also become one of the best young right handed hitters in years though....if we are to believe the hype.

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Hi, I'm curious, can someone tell me what an appropriate trade value for Devine or Haren would be? I'm the Braves, and I don't want to accidentilly rip The A's off for Devine, and should I go get a starter, I don't want to rip the D'Backs off either. I should tell you it is 2010 in my franchise. I'm not sure what an appropriate offer from me would be. Thanks in advance.Comment

Haren should cost a boatload, at least two legit prospects and another decent one. Devine shouldn't even cost one legit prospect.Comment

As for Haren, he is one of the top 10 pitchers in the game so he should be more difficult to obtain. I think he has another year or two on his contract as well so I imagine you would have to give up plenty for him.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Sure, the price is marginally lower than it would be if he had an ERA around 2, but no one suspects he's no longer an ace, so his "struggles" don't mean much.
Sorry I don't have any suggestions any more specific than 2 legitimate, best-in-system prospects and a third decent one or MLB regular.
Devine on the other hand is a former top prospect whose value has probably never been lower. You shouldn't give up much of anything and shouldn't expect him to be useful for you for very long.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I like that the Twins traded away Mauer and then went out and got a catcher a couple of days later. Smart move. The Reds did a bang up job trying to get a good team together. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to flip Ortiz or perhaps Votto to keep getting better. So far, it seems to me that some teams will really try to get better on this game, while others a far too willing to cut and run early. Kind of like real baseball.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I have a couple of more that have been proposed;
The Red Sox are offering David Ortiz, Varitek, and RP Ramon Ramirez to the Nationals for Jason Marquis and an A rated prospect (CP).
The Indians are offering an A rated SS and an A rated CP to the A's for Ben Sheets and RP Brad Ziegler.
I think I'm going to shoot that one down, but the Red Sox offer intrigues me. I don't know how much value Ortiz would have to an NL team though, since he can only play first, and really is a pure DH.
Maybe the Nats would play Dunn more in the OF, or perhaps they are going to try and trade him (he's on the trading block).
Thoughts???
Both teams are in contention BTW.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
that seems like an awful lot to give up for lee. Sure hes great now but what about in 3 years not sure hes worth it. Fowler is a great piece of the rockies, smith im thinkin is a good bench player or do you have him starting dont know a whole lot about him and francis is a dependable veteran starting pitcher for a guy thats on the decline i say to much imo.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Putting aside the fact that it would never happen, it probably shouldn't happen anyway given the Ortiz-defense aspect. He's not just bad; he's an incapable defender. Hasn't played regularly in more than 5 years.Comment

True. But in the game he plays just like Youk and Tex. Can't tell you how many times he's robbed me of basehits.PSN: ckarlic

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
In my franchise, Papi got traded to the Giants. I wonder how many splash hits he has. His defense was no different than any other decent 1B. On a side note, it was really cool the first time I faced him and they said "how strange is it to see this guy wearing a different uniform?"Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I'm the Tribe and am looking for a consistent pitcher in my bullpen as well as a solid backup middle infielder for when Cabrera and Valbuena need a day off, LaPorta has been lights out for me so I'm willing to depart with Michael Brantley and any other relief pitcher I have...any ideas?Comment
