Yep they are all A potential players Salcedo for some reason seems to be really one of those prospects the game seems to love and most teams want... I am in the first year of my franchise and I'll have Jayson Werth as a free agent too so maybe I shouldn't make the deal with two superstar free agents and not the money to resign both.

So I was thinking maybe this deal although maybe even less realistic

    P Jared Cossart(A potential)
    P Trevor May(A potential)
    P Brody Colvin(B Potential)

for Lester Bucholtz and Bard from the red sox I'm not sure why the Red Sox take this deal maybe there cutting budget or something but these are all cheap good young A potential arms so I'm not sure I should take advantage of this or the Pujols deal or neither and continue to build the farm...thoughts?

If either take the Red Sox deal, being a Red Sox fan they would never do that trade though. Lester is solid, Bulzholz is growing, and Bard has a good chance of being the Closer next year if the Red Sox let Papelbon walk. So your getting the better end of the Red Sox deal, just make she u check contracts. Usually teams only trade big names if they only have a year or two left, Then you get stuck with a huge pay increase t5o keep them

About the offseason, there are a couple of weeks of exclusive bargaining time where a free agent like Pujols may re-sign with the Cards before you ever get a chance to offer him anything. And some free agents will sign with teams that offer less money than you do, especially if you have a few big offers out there (I think the game does this to make it fair). So you can't just bank on the fact that you can go out and get any free agent you want. That is the benefit of trading away your prospects. There is less of a gamble when it comes to re-signing free agents. Or you could always cheat and reload saves until you get all the players you want to sign for you.

I'm the Cubs and traded OF Brett Jackson (A potential) and 3B Josh Vitters (A potential) to the Rays for LF Carl Crawford. Jackson can get a spot in the Rays outfield by the end of the year, since he was with my big league club. Vitters could move over to 1B for the Rays if Pena decides to leave.

I didn't mind trading Jackson, but I hesitated on Vitters. I ended up doing the trade because I now have a legitimate lead-off hitter who has TONS of speed.

In his first game as a Cub, Crawford was 2 for 5 with a walk, two stolen bases and two RBI.

the computer made a trade of Berkman, Brett Myers, and Jason Michaels for Justin Smoak and an A potential reliever (Martin Perez maybe?)

I forgot to check pending transactions and it went thru, but I quickly reversed the trade because I just didn't think that was a reasonable trade, let alone in June when the teams aren't buyers or sellers yet.

trying to aquire Lance berkman before the deadline in my franchise

playing as the A's, using knights roster. cust is my DH but i wouldnt mind reeling in lance to finish out the year as an extra push towards the playoffs. the astro's have him on the block so id like to try and aquire him. who should i offer? id really like to try and just give up prospects and maybe a bench player if i can pull it off. but willing to listen to anyones advice. thanks guys

arent the A's pretty deep in the OF? i would try to unload one of those guys in a deal. But isnt berkman old at this point? my point being that i wouldnt give up alot for an aging player

ya he is older. on a one year contract. just looking for extra pop in the bat for the playoffs and final few months of the season. the astros are looking for starting pitching, and outfielders. ive put a package together of jack cust, ian kroll, and arnold leon. kroll and leon are SP's with A potentials. anyone think that could get the job done?

Prospects are probably the best/most realistic route, especially if the Astros are out of the race in the game.

If you want to go for realism. Offer them some prospects, pitching would be nice since Oakland has alot of them.

Houston has the worst farm system in the MLB. So sending them prospects wouldn't be a bad idea.

When your in the trade screen, there is a blue bar at the bottom. If its more then half way then they'll accept it.

Two A potentials should do it, but sometimes cpu won't except if it hurts that position too much(1b in this case). You might have to give up Barton or Carter, but try it your way first.

In my Mariners chise I sent Cliff Lee (1-6, 6.32 era) to Minny for Liriano, Ramos and Hicks.

Now I am trying to pry away Mike Stanton to put in the Mariners' revolving door (LF). Any ideas, think it is even realistic?

So my theory is that the CPU makes trade proposals and the other CPU can turn them down. I have no way to prove this though. Perhaps someone with 30 team control can try it out and see if the CPU ever rejects trade offers that are in the pending transaction tab.
                                I haven't seen it yet, but I noticed one cool thing;

The Reds offered Bronson Arroyo to the Dodgers for 2 A rated minor league pitchers. I declined the trade.

Two days later the Dodgers offered the same trade back to the Reds, but with Aaron Miles and Kevin Barker added.

So the Dodgers made a counter offer, asking for more players.

                                Pretty cool.
