Re: MLB 11 The Show Community Day Discussion Thread - Questions, Answers etc.

Guys, thanks for taking the time to answer the questions. Much appreciated.

    A few questions

    - Do the outfielders still get stuck in the wall dance from last year? Always added up to an extra base for the batter.

    - This may be too in depth at this point, but any work on the call up/send down logic or trade logic?

    - On the player editing and importing players, can you adjust contracts also? I know some guys like to get up to date or correct contracts, didnt know if this could only be edited in franchise mode or not

    - Do all outfielders play at the same depth regardless of ratings? I know BJ Upton plays a very shallow center while some guys are much deeper. Just wondering if that will play a role in hit variety.

    Enjoy your time out there!

      Zach Grienke
      2009 K.C. Royals 18-10 2.45 ERA 212 K 45BB
      2010 K.C. Royals 13-12. 4.13 ERA 200k 65 BB
      2011 Milw Brewers 20-3 1.43 ERA 343K 23BB

(obviously I'm just making up stats but just trying to show what I'm talking about....I'd like to see stats similar to what are on a real baseball card......sort of like what NBA2K11 does for those who are familiar).
Wow, where did Greinke's control go in '11?

Will the pitcher confidence meter load in the state it was in when saved, or will it reset like it currently does? (using the in-game save feature)

          *Edit*

I know I've posed this question to Knight, but since you guys seem to field fielding Q and A, I figured I'd go ahead and ask it here too.

Did they by chance add an option to choose either high or low stirrups?

            for example:

            HIGH

            LOW

Has anyone played as the Cardinals? If anyone did, how did busch look? How did the stances for Pujols,Holliday,Rasmus, and Molina look?

Also since 42 seems to be taking screenshot requests, can I maybe get one of Busch?

I CANNOT say anymore until the dev blog on the feature that will allow this and it will be the first post in my "Tips and Work Arounds" thread for '11

Ok, I've caved in and will put you people to work lol

                        Rain Questions:
                        1. Will the rain affect attendance?
                        2. Will the crowd dress appropriately for rain? (umbrellas, panchos, etc.)
                        3. Is rain visible on the players? Such as the jersey looking soaked or hats dripping with water?
                        4. After sliding, does dirt on the uniform look more like mud, or still dusty?
                        5. Are there different levels of rain?...drizzle, pouring, etc.
                        6. Is rain dynamic? (start overcast and start raining in the 5th, etc.)

These could maybe be suggested for future versions:
                        1. Franchise weather patterns. If it's cloudy one day, maybe have the next day turn into rain? Like a storm moving through a state, have weather progress over a week from hot, to cool, to cloudy, to overcast, to rainy.
                        2. Live weather incorporation. Before the game (exibition probably) have the ability to choose weather or use live weather from like weather.com Clearly some weather conditions aren't practical such as blizzard, but maybe for getting the temperature, etc.

Ok, don't change your tasks for these...I know you are all busy, but if you have time, it's highly appreciated. Thanks.

Knight, I have a question about the new ability to share created players. Do you have to make them all individual, or can you have multiple created players in like a group? Say you go into the vault and you could have people that only made individual players but you can have other who made multiple so you could either download that person's individually or in a group. Say they make a bunch of recently called-up rookies, they could put them in one group titled "Rookies Called Up as of (insert date)"
If not, could you suggest something like this to Kolbe or Russell?

The rain is dynamic. It can start with an overcast and some fog, then start to rain heavy, lighten up, stop raining, etc etc during a game.
